One Last Assignment

Chapter 1 pt 2

Chapter 1 pt 2

Jul 20, 2021

Waking up once again, shouting out in pain. A was still in the jail cell. Nothing was new, except a note on the wall.

Groaning A struggled to get out of the bed, hugging their torso with one arm as the other steadied them against the wall. Shuffling over to the drawer, A took the note off the wall and read it:

Answer our questions and we will let you eat

Rolling their eyes, Character A crumpled up the piece of paper and threw it into the corner. Hearing a small plosh sound as it hit the toilet.

Not eating wasn’t a problem, A figured it had already been at least two days since the last time they ate. The problem was the pain.

A knew these creatures. They had studied them to be able to sneak into the pack undetected. It worked until someone came home.

If A had successfully killed the person and gotten away then they would be able to walk through the door. Never have to worry about anything again, disappearing once and for all.

Glancing around the room one more time, there was an extra blanket on the cot. Someone must have brought the other blanket. A appreciated the kindness of whoever had given the extra blanket. Normally someone’s captor would have let the captive suffer as much as possible. Luckily someone had been kind.

Character A shuffled over to the door, whincing in pain as they did. Looking through the glass door, they tried to see something. The bars made it hard to see but A still looked for anything that would help them escape but they couldn’t find anything. A pushed on the door, having it move slightly away but didn’t go any further. Indicating that the door was locked but the slight movement could work.

Ignoring the pain, A went over to the drawer and opened it; finding nothing. Walking over to the cot, tearing off the sheets, blankets and mattress. Only leaving the metal bottom part. Surprisingly there were a couple of springs.

Character A undid one of the strings and brought it back over to the door. Moving the undid spring into the lock and started to pick at it. Once there was a click sound, A threw open the door.

Quickly looking around to find no one, A walked out of the cell and down the hallway. No one else was in any of the other cells. Picking up the pace, they reached the end of the hallway. Being stopped by a brick wall, looking up there were small thin windows near the top.

Character A stood their thinking, they weren’t tall nor were they short. So the best bet was to climb the brick wall as best as they could. After a few failed attempts, they finally reached the windows. Banging on it, until it opened A slipped out of the tiny window, crawling on the dirt.

Still staying on the ground, A listened for anyone to be around. When they didn’t hear anyone, they took off sprinting. Not remembering the layout of the pack, A ran around blindly. Being careful about not bumping into anyone, they still couldn’t seem to find a way out. This pack was bigger than what A had remembered, but then again they had taken A into the middle of the pack grounds.

There seemed to be no end to the running and dodging people. That is until A got tackled by someone. Hitting the ground hard, Character A got pinned down by claws.

The claws weren’t full, meaning the person was only partly shifted.

“YOU GOT A DEATH WISH?!” They shouted.

A actually does have one but didn’t respond. There was a feel of stabbing as A’s right arm got twisted to the back. Crying out in pain, Character A fought back against the tears; not wanting to satisfy the captors.

“WHO SENT YOU?!” They shouted louder, drawing more attention.

Twisting A’s arm further back, torturing them until an answer came.

“ANSWER ME YOU BLOODY BASTARD!!” They demanded.

They dug their claws into A’s skull, feeling blood trailing down their face. A started to get cold feet, slowly losing sensation in their body as the pain grew.

“I’LL BREAK YOU!!” They shouted.

There was a snapped sound followed by an agonizing scream.

There’s a mission, someone has to die. The mission goes off the wall, creating a huge mess but can it be done accomplished.
This last mission means freedom but not in the way you would think.

Disclaimer: These characters don’t have names, just titles. The titles are in bold so you can tell who is who. There is also no description of the characters. You get to imagine what you think they would look like. I’m not fully sure why I have it this way but that’s what happened. If it gets confusing just ask for clarification, I’ll try to explain it as best as I can.

Make the plan, Execute the plan, Expect the plan to go off the rails, Throw away the plan.
