“That is your maiden dress and I am your daemon, Nyxi.”
“Maiden? Daemon?”
“I see you have questions but let’s leave this place first.”
“…Okay but can I even get out of whatever this place is?”
“Yes, there should be a gate or exit out of this domain.”
“Do you know where?”
“Sadly, I don’t. Since this domain is not mine.”
“Is that so…?”
Nodding its small dragon head and disappears as Clair stumble away deeper in the domain, without a direction she decides to follow the pulsing of the veins.
Going by empty rooms and corridors she soon reached a large room with something dangling above. It was an enormous crystal in the shape of a real heart but more importantly there was a gate like structure sitting right below it.
“Is that it, Nyxi?”
The white dragon reappears by her, “That’s right and that above is what keeps this domain alive.”
“Huh…? This place is alive?” She takes another look around the pulsing heart with veins protruding out of it and into the walls.
“Let’s go home.” Clair walks her way to the gate but, out of sudden, foam burst from the ground and swallows the gate.
Then a purple storm of aura flew through the room, Clair was pushed back and as the purple aura settles. There emerges the same humanoid monster but it was tinted in purple and so was its veins, it darted for Clair in an instant and was upon her.
The monster gave a wide sweep with its arm and blew Clair away into the wall.
Thud!
She stumbles her way back up while the monster darts for her once more, reaching its hand out for her, Clair dodges and leaps. Swiping her sword for the purple glowing orb, but the monster spun around and slip pass her sword, swinging its arm and slammed it into the ground.
‘Reach…’ Nyxi voice echoes through her as Clair reaches out her left hand out and disappears.
Blink!
She jumps pass the coming monster’s arm and was behind it, she swings her sword across its head and as it drops, the now headless monster spun around and grabs onto Clair’s waist.
Holding her up into the air, Clair flails around while it tightens its grip onto her. She tries to apport herself but, she barely moved away from the monster, only to drop right in front of it.
She steps back and avoids the coming sweep from its arm as the monster then stops motionless for a moment, foam pour from its missing head, and reforms it while she took a few more steps back.
“Can it not die…?”
Clair unconsciously releases blue threads out of her hands and body.
“Don’t overdo it.” A white dragon appears.
She looks at the threads that were overflowing and stops them, “I’m sorry, this is…?”
“That’s your dress powers since it took your shape but–” The white dragon stops and turns to look at the monster and so did Clair.
The monster ran for her, “I’ll help but you must bind the monster. Just a moment will do.”
“How?” Clair dodges.
“Your threads and your needle.”
She avoids the swinging arm again and glance at her sword that took the shape of a needle. The monster quickly arched its back along with both arms, then hammers them down.
Thud!
Clair dodge, then leaped over the monster while she ran her sword over its arm and shoulder. Leaving threads behind, she lands and scrapped the ground stitching the monster to the ground. She turns around as the monster tries to lift its arm off.
Blink!
She reappears on its other side and swipe her sword across, striking its backward swung arm. Leaving threads as Clair steps back and pulled her hand back with sword together with the threads, she binds it where it stood.
Breathing a sigh of relieve, “Well done, maiden.” Spreading its dragon wings.
“This is the power of us demons. Prayer.”
Clair reaches her hands out, “Let’s go…” and takes the prayer as a white aura turn blue and envelopes her. The threads overflow out her back and shaped themselves into a pair of angels like wing. Fluttering them once, she then in an instant, vanished.
With a single swipe of her radiating blue sword, she slices the monster in half.
She drops the moment it ended, the monster was no more and the gate had reformed in the ground where it stood. Her threaded wings flutters and fades away.
The white dragon lands by her, “That was brilliantly done, maiden.”
“You save me again, thank you but if you don’t mind can you at least call me by name.”
“But you haven’t told me your name.”
“That’s right… My name is Lydia St. Clair; can you call by Lydia?”
“No, I’ll call you by Clair instead since I’ve brought into this terrible world of the daemons.”
Clair looks a little puzzled but she drops down into the gate in the ground.
