Hayes swings her claws, creating crevices in the ground along with them, “You killed her, didn’t you...?!”
Jumping back, Clair avoids the claws, “I didn’t kill her!”
“Liar!” While dragging her claws along the ground, she darts forward, swinging her claws.
“No, I’m not lying. I don’t even know what happened.” While dodging the claws and she slipped by her.
Hayes came to a stopped and turned to Clair, “How was it, her prayer...? What color was it?”
“Prayer? I don’t know, I only saw a white light then she just...”
While she examines Clair’s maiden dress, “Blue...? So, it’s not you. Forget it!” She leaps into the air and extruded her claw till they reached the ground.
“I’ll just kill you and wish for her back but your prayer hasn’t grown enough yet.” She drags her claws through ground, across the entire domain room and shatters everything.
“Suffer and come find me, little saint...” She leaped out of sight.
Falling down with no ground it sights other than the rubble that followed her, Clair tries to get on the rubble but simply couldn’t as they all soon decay into nothingness.
And after almost what seem to be an eternity to Clair, she finally drops onto solid ground and fall unconscious.
Thud!
‘Ellie...?’ Clair opens her a door, ‘Morning, let’s go together. Lydia....’
“Ellie...!”
She wakes and quickly stumble her back up as small owl creature flies over to her and lands on her shoulder.
“Evening, maiden. I am a daemon by the name of Lies.” A lady voice came from the owl.
“Lies...?” Clair looks over to the owl on her shoulder while a white dragon appears by the owl.
“What are doing here, Lies?”
“Hmm...? That watcher, Nyxi...? So, you’re finally going to partake.”
“No, that wasn’t my intention but I had to turn her into a maiden.”
“Lies, you’re a daemon like Nyxi?”
“That’s right, adorable little saint.”
“Are you also here to make me a maiden...?”
The owl gave a small chuckle, “I would love to but a maiden can’t have more than one daemon. Likewise for daemon, we can’t have more than one maiden.”
“Is that so...”
“Either way, I can’t...”
“Hmm...? You can’t make another maiden?”
“I broke the rules, so I can’t anymore.” The owl spreads one of its wings, showing its fading feathers as a few fell to ground.
“You’re disappearing... Is there anything, I can do?”
“What a kind child but are sure?”
“You’re not a bad daemon and it’s fine right Nyxi?”
The white dragon nodded and quietly disappeared.
“Then if you don’t mind, can you spare me some of your prayer?”
“Okay...”
Clair clasps her hands together and closes her eyes, and as she reopens them, a blue light had gathered over her clasp’s hands, “Hmm, is this alright...?”
“Just a bit is more than enough.” The owl flew over and hovers in front of her.
Taking in the blue light, “Thank you, adorable little saint.”
“My name is Lydia St. Clair; can you call me by my name.”
“Sure thing, adorable little Clair.”
Her face slightly reddens, “Just Clair if you please...” The owl chuckles once more.
“I’ll count on you if we meet again, adorable little Clair.” The owl flies off.
“Sure, see you again.” Waving Lies goodbye as the owl flew out of sight.
While conversing with the owl, Clair failed to take notice of the enormous domain room that she was in. The walls were way far in back and the ceiling was unreachable even with her gift to apport herself. She stumbles around and observed her surroundings, she could see in the distant was a large towering organic like structure with large white grey veins wrapping around it.
Clair slowly walks her way to the tower, “What did Hayes mean, when she said that I wasn’t enough.” The white dragon reappears by her.
“Your blue prayer is unlike any other, its brilliance and size are incomparable but is still won’t be enough to end this.”
Clair faces her head slightly to the white dragon, “Huh...?” Looking a little puzzle, “Is that why you choose me...?”
“Not exactly, I would rather have you not know about us daemon but I didn’t have much of choice.”
“Thank you again but Nyxi, when Lies mention about you joining... Did that have something to do with the wish that Hayes talk about.”
“That’s right, she probably thinks that killing you would be enough to end this twisted game we daemons play and grant her wish.”
“Game?” Clair stops and turns to the white dragon.
“I condemn this insane crown game. We have only harmed your kind and how many millenniums has it been since...?”
Eons ago, a mysterious hooded figure stood in an unbeknownst expanse, ’Everything is finite even the mightiest of star shall fade and so as I... I shall leave my title to one and only one that can reach my crown. Come forth, ones that call themselves daemons and gather your prayers. To a place beyond reality, a place where crown lies waiting…’
