“It would be something unthinkable to have all four primal elemental affinities, especially at this age, but to have most of the advanced versions of them is pretty much beyond what one could achieve. And what is this? I think I might have seen this symbol in books, but we’ll have to make sure, so you better go to the Academy’s director once you feel better.” Teachers face seemed puzzled, but I knew why; my sisters were only with two primal element affinity, and that’s usually something rare to have at age below thirty, so people who enter the Academy and already has control over two elements are called prodigies.
“Miss Feeniks, please lead Elias to Wixtia Valenrose’s office once he’s ready. ” Looks like she fell asleep while waiting for the evaluation to end. She jumped on her feet and was looking at me with her dark crimson eyes.
“Let’s go.” Since I didn’t feel bad, I simply headed towards the director's place with my teacher.


“Excuse us, Miss Valenrose, we have a rare case with this young man. Besides him having an affinity with all four primal elements and having most of the advanced ones, there seems to be something Mr Alen didn’t know. Elias, show director your Mages crest.” It seems that Fiia knows how to behave herself in front of the Academy’s head since she stood like a soldier.
I turned my back and pulled up my shirt. The crest is black, and if the caster feeds it some energy it lits up in indigo blue currents that go around in laps.
“Hmmm... I haven’t seen anyone wielding the gravity symbol for a long time; maybe two hundred fifty years ago was the last person I knew who could manipulate it. Besides that, this is fascinating, not only the primal elements but also lightning, light, ice, time and space... Truly amazing. You’re only missing a few others to have everything unlocked. You could turn into a mage that has the power to take down an entire kingdom by yourself. Elias Lyceus, soon I’ll be making an elite mage class since we have plenty of talented and promising students in the Academy now, and I’d like you to take the test for it.”
She looked at me in excitement, as if I’d be a test subject to her, but if there is something I could learn from it, then I’d love to join.
“Thank you for the invite for the test, I’d be glad to take it, and I will do my best to make it to the elite class.” I smiled and looked at the director.
“Best of luck, Mr Lyceus, you will get the invite in letter format next week, I’m looking forward to seeing how it goes. You can return to your class now.” She turned her glance to a book in front of her and began writing in it.
“Let’s go, Elias.” Fiia took me back to class.


It looks like almost everyone has already had their elemental affinities checked, and some other teachers have joined the class. I went back to the students and stood back in the line. Some of them were looking at me; probably they were interested in what happened and why I had to leave since no one could hear nor see what happened when I was checked. Without a care about others, I was wondering what possibilities does gravity magic have. Could I be able to fly? It would be cool, but I also have space and time magic; maybe I could teleport or something... There will be tons of studying to do, but I still wasn’t sure why I have all those elements available. Maybe because of the dragon blood? I want to meet Rakh again to ask more questions. I hope I can leave the city sometime soon.

“We’ve finished your affinity checks. Now we’ll have a two-hour-long break before we begin to test the combat classes you’d be assigned to for now. Feel free to have lunch or go back to your rooms to rest, but be back here on time!” After finishing the sentence, he turned around and began to look through the notes he took in this class.
Everyone dispersed, and I was planning to have a quick lunch and then relax at the garden.


“Oh, hello, Elias, today you have the evaluations? It seems that you’ve found out your elemental affinities already and will probably have your combat classes assigned later?” As I was looking at the flowers in the garden, I was approached by Reina Akari, she wasn’t wearing the Academy uniform but combat pants and a long-sleeved white shirt that seemed to be oversized for her body.
“Hello. Yes, we have to go back in about an hour or so. What about you? Do you usually have free time in the middle of the day in here?” I stood up and faced her.
“Well, since many of the professors have been assigned to the first years, we only had one lesson today. The rest of the day is supposed to be used in training oneself. So how did it go? I’ve heard that Rinn has two primal element affinities. I guess you have two as well?” She closed her eyes and smiled while was leaning to the side with both of her hands behind her back.
“Well... I have more than two...” I didn’t know how to tell her that I have pretty much an affinity towards everything... She’ll probably know soon anyway if the Academy wants others to know, but if it doesn’t, I’ll keep it to myself as well for now.
“Wow, so you have three, it seems, it’s super rare. I think even most of the professors from here have only three, and they’ve been studying and practising magic for decades, so you should be glad that you’ve been spoon-fed with tons of possibilities!” I guess she was also happy?
“Thank you. I’ll work hard.” I bowed and was thinking to take my leave.
“No problem, just remember that this place gets competitive later on, so prepare yourself for it early.” She really is nice, and she smiles a lot. I don’t know if people make friends here, but I’d be glad to have her as one.
“I’ll be leaving now. I still have to jog for a bit so see you around. Best of luck with your combat classes.”
And she ran past me in pretty fast. I’d call it a sprint, not a jog.
“Yeah, have a nice day!” I answered and decided to go back to the test grounds.


It looked as if I was the last to return, but we still have plenty of time left. Did I mishear them or something? Well, no one is mad, so all fine, I guess.
“Seems like everyone is here now, so if you’re willing to do it now, we could begin testing the magic you have the easiest time to use, so fall in lines again and listen to the explanations.”
I really hope to get a cool class in which I can prove myself on the battlefield and earn a high rank among the Salexty empires magicians. Time to cast some magic.
