It has been around 4 weeks since Rose started to care for the small dragon. Not much has occurred within the last week, but things were going steadly forward.
Rose went on a hunting trip with the hatchling when the hatchling looked into the woods and darted off. At first, Rose though she had seen a rabbit and was going to let her continue on without her, but a sickening feeling developed in Rose's stomach that made her want to follow the hatchling.
They ran for a while before Rose started hearing muffled screams. Rose used a spell that she use to use for hunting all the time, a heat-vision like spell, but she could see nothing outside of birds and the hatchling. While still using the spell, Rose almost tripped over the hatchling that has stopped right infront of her. She dispelled the magic and saw that there was a man, blindfolded, gagged, and bound in a hole. Rose almost fell right ontop of him. The hole was not that deep, maybe a couple of feet, so she should have seen him with the spell.
Rose pushed that thought aside and took a couple steps towards the man, who then thrashed at the sound of something coming closer.
"Hey, it is alright. I am here to help."
The man calmed down a little bit, but Rose could tell that he was on edge. He had cuts all over his body and his arm was obviously broke.
"I come from the tower on the mountain, you know where that is?"
He slowly nodded his head and calmed down. Rose took the gag out of his mouth and unblindfolded him.
The man uttered a small and barely audible "Thank you." before passing out.
Rose did not blame him, he must have been under extreme pain and there was no telling how long he had been there.
Careful not to hurt his arm, she carried him on her back as she headed up to the tower.
-------
Overall, he was not in too bad of shape. Rose took great care to tend to all the wounds, though, she ended up having to rebreak his arm as it had started healing at an angle.
The hatchling stayed nearby the entire time. It was obvious that she did not trust him yet, but she still was worried about the man.
Bilmont took over cooking for that night so Rose could focus. There was not much that she could have done, but binding his arm as well as making some pain relief remedies took some time.
I had sympathy pains while writing this. I had to have my wrist set when it was broke and I can not imagine how much pain having to rebreak it must be. ;-;
Rose has always lived in the mountain tower with her mentor, Bilmont. From an early age, she was skilled with magic, but she knows that it is not the reason she was there. She looks different from others. She has been there for as long as she remembers and she does not even remember her parents. However, when a strange man starts hanging around the tower, things start to unfold.
