I quickly rushed him and swiped his feet from under him and he landed heavily on his back. He growled and stood and tried to punch me, quickly ducking only to see his knee come at me I held my hands before me and got ready to jump back when he made impact.
Hurly was disappointed that I didn’t go far and tried to do it again but this time I flipped him back when he tried to knee me by grabbing his left and lifting and went to the side and away. He stayed down after a few more failed attempts to knee me, it was rare for me to wag my tail.
“Positions,” Coach said and I went to my side again while the downed Alpha-Born stood up and took his, “Not you, you go over there and think about what you did wrong.”
Hurly went to the side and started growling to himself and glared at me while a new Alpha-Born took his place.
“Go Wolf, Omega Crowther, Alpha Jake,” we both shifted, my black fur looking soft and fluffy, his grey fur course. He stepped forward growling at me trying to scare, I gave a growl of my own and stood my ground. Justice told me not to shed blood and to control my bite, “Alpha Jake found his wolf not to long ago, again you let an Omega-Born get past you.”
“What will it take for you to show me the same respect you show the rest of these Alpha Low-Born’s?” I growled.
“Begin!”
I shifted my weight from paw to paw anticipating his attacks and we circled each other looking for a weak point. The Alpha-Born growled and I bared my fangs as he tried to stand taller.
At the sound of an imaginary bell we charged at each other my fangs met fur while his met air. I yanked the fur in my teeth back and he pulled away before I could grasp him properly. He threw his head under my left paw, quickly thinking I held his head down while I moved back but he pushed forward trying to stand.
I jumped over him and grabbed his tail and pulled.
The wolf yelped and threw himself towards my shoulder, moving out of the way of his fangs I let go and went for his hind legs.
He jumped away from me and tried to grab my neck fur, I went to his right while his head was aimed for the left and grabbed his neck fur instead. I pulled him hard down and he laid down.
“Bad Alpha!” I growled and the Alpha-Born flinched, “Bad!”
I let him go and he stayed where he was, I think I heard a whimper from him. I felt cheeky and put my left paw on his head and gave it a rub.
“Good Alpha,” Alpha Jake wagged his tail at my praise.
“Tsk, that Omega-Born is weak! How weak are you Alpha Jake or do you even deserve to be called that?” One of the Alpha-Born’s growled.
“Never underestimate the power of your opponents!” At the Coaches hand signal I went back to my original place and waited for the next instruction. “Omega’s are smart and fast. If you were out hunting who would catch the most?”
“Alpha’s of course!”
“That’s bigger, I’m asking for the most,” Coach said and soon went into Omega 101 to explain. “Omega’s can catch the most rabbits while you Alpha’s are lumbering behind. Omega’s can steer a deer into the Alpha’s position with little effort. Omega’s are the best hunters which is why there’s only one or two Alpha’s in a hunting party of six Omega-Born’s.”
“Well it’s nice to know that I have at least some respect,” I muttered.
“Let’s see an Omega-Born’s true strength, Omega Crowther will you help teach these no good Alpha-Born’s what a Trained Omega can do?” I nodded and got into a fighting stance. A new Alpha-Born was set in front of me. I haven’t seen or smelled this Alpha before, his light grey fur mixed with the dark grey fur on his back as it ran down his tail and hind legs. “An untrained Omega is dangerous, a Trained Omega is deadly.”
The wolf started to circle his steps slow and paced, showed no hostility, just observed how I moved. I got the sense that this was a Trained Alpha well beyond the Alpha-Born’s here. I adopted his pace and watched his next move, going through plans on what he would try next.
‘This is a seasoned wolf, your previous attacks won’t work,’ Justice growled. The wolf before me wasn’t going to attack first, so I made a move towards his tail to get a reaction. He moved forward and we went back to circling. I can see that he enjoyed that little move, this was going to be difficult. I breathed in and steadied myself waiting for his move, he slowed down giving a soft growl.
One paw after the other we walked gauging the weak points that we noticed trying to understand the next move and what could be in the others mind.
Patience.
This wasn’t a test of strength.
It was skill and how well we do when faced with someone that knew more.
“I applaud you, other’s would have relentlessly attacked after the first move,” the Alpha-Born said. “Smart wolves life longer, develop better skills and are not afraid.”
“If I were to go for your hind leg right now what would you do?” I asked as we continued to circle our paws matching a rhythm.
“I would have gone for your scruff but I’ve seen the way you dodge out of the way, the attack on my legs would be a bluff. You would have gone for my scruff instead by jumping behind me or on my back to try to throw me off balance. I’ve watched your fight the others before me, you’re not one to waste opportunities on something useless.”
“So after trying for your scruff you would have went into offensive by snapping at me with your fangs. Since neither of us would let go we would have wrestled to see who was stronger?” I asked trying to see if we were on the same page.
“Sounds about right, but you would have let go sooner or later since you’re still weaker than me. No doubt that you’ll have a powerful bite when you get older just like your howl. You’ll bite me by the ears to get me to flinch and move away from you while you take that to bite either my tail or my paws. You’ll pull to throw me to the ground and leave me vulnerable...” he stopped talking as if he realized something. “You don’t like attacking vulnerable parts, you want to force a submission. You would have went for my scruff in the end and shake me.”
“Hm, I realize now that isn’t the right move you would have either kicked me or go for my neck instead. What if I changed course? Going for a paw instead, no that wouldn’t faze you you’d still be after my neck.”
“Not if you jump away, you should learn to keep distance from the enemies fangs. Remember your faster than an Alpha-Born, more smaller too. Use that to your advantage,” the Alpha-Born said. Would it be cheap to start fighting as we had said since we know the outcome already or would their be a need to?
“It’s clear what the outcome would be.”
“Agreed, after biting my paw and jumping away I would be slow to get that paw under me as you grab my scruff and shake me. I submit, Alpha Angel,” the wolf stopped walking and laid down showing his belly to me.
Who would have thought that I would get a win from only attacking once?
“Very good Alpha Angel, composure under pressure, critical thinking and understanding of your opponents.” My ear flicked to Coach using the title the Alpha-Born gave me, I didn’t hate it. It felt nice having more respect in tone of voice. “An untrained Omega-Born would have run away from fighting, its not in their nature to fight. A trained Omega-Born would fight back relentlessly. What we just witnessed was a fight between two equals.”
The Alpha-Born got up touched his nose under my chin and went on his way. I had a feeling that this will be the only time where I fight without fighting.
“Let me tell you about Bounded Omega’s,” I sat down as Coach continued to talk, “Alpha’s can have as many Omega’s as they like while Omega’s can only have one Alpha. Any other Alpha tries to claim a Bounded Omega will result in the Omega’s pain. Take caution when Marking an Omega, when an Omega is Marked and the Alpha lets the Omega use their strength it will weaken the Alpha until the Omega gives it back. Same goes for pain, if the Omega experiences pain of any kind they will push some of that pain to the Alpha. The Mark makes the Bound equal meaning both share the pain and strength.”
“Why would any Alpha do that?” the gathered Alpha-Born’s laughed. “If anything the Omega-Born’s would only take pain for the Alpha’s because the Alpha’s asked it to. Besides who would want such weak waste of space when there’s plenty that will obey?”
I looked to the Coach wondering what he would say to stop them from laughing, only for him to look down at me. I understood then, this was my fight to win.
Looking forward I took a deep breath, all the name calling, things being thrown at me, the dirty pranks, missing clothes, the writings on my desk, locker and door. I gave a soft growl focusing my rage for the past two years.
“A hunting party, three Alpha’s and one Omega,” the Alpha’s quieted down while Coach told his stories. “One of those Alpha’s had Marked the Omega and the two stayed close. The Omega spotting a rabbit looked at their Alpha, once the Alpha gave permission the Omega went for the rabbit. Upon returning the three Alpha’s were gone and a new Alpha was in their place, it was a Peace Offering set up by the three Alpha’s and the new pack they were partnering with.”
“What’s the point of this story?” Hurly spoke up with a growl. I focused my energy on the abandoned Omega’s paw prints. The sudden appearance of a new Alpha, fear, confusion, the need to run away. The brief thought of abandonment, sad, betrayed, empty.
“The Alpha forcefully took the Omega to their territory, each time the Omega tried to call for help they were silenced. Once at the new territory the gathered wolves took the Omega, despite them being in pain. In most cases the Omega would try to take their life than to live another day in that hellhole. But this Omega was positive that their Alpha would get them, they waited 2 years for something that will never happen.” Betrayed, hate, death, blood, blood.
BLOOD.
A deep growl emanated from me as I shifted from paw to paw, keeping my eyes closed. Two years. That Omega suffered just as much as I had in those two little years. With Alpha’s who only thought of themselves. My growl was soon a snarl as I gathered those buried feelings and stuffed them into my cold burning heart.
“The Omega-Born left the pack in the light of day, no one bothered to keep them there. They were soon home and in search of the Alpha they had called Silver Moon.”
“If the Omega could leave any time it wanted why didn’t it?” an Alpha-Born asked a little hesitant.
“You want the whole truth? None of you had tasted blood before, I doubt you’ll want the details.” The Coach said my growls and snarls were calmed down now it felt as if I were triggered I would snap at anyone and draw blood.
I was starting to itch for a true fight.
A fight that will unleash all this hatred, all my pent up frustrations. It felt as if I was finally going to take this seriously, that my entire life depended on the future fights.
“When the Omega left the pack behind they were covered in blood and corpses. One Omega took down a pack of maybe 20 Alpha’s on their own. An enraged Omega is a bloodthirsty one, you mess with them that’s fine. Mess with their Mate prepare to die. Mess with their pups the pack will never be heard from again.” The Coach said and I focused on what Justice meant. ‘That is why Elite Omega’s were born. The Pack is your Mate, the Pack is your Pups.’
“Any wolf that gets in front of an enraged Omega will meet their end one way or another and there was nothing stopping this Omega from looking for the so called Mate that left them. The Omega-Born had finally found their Alpha, having to put down their own Pack that got in the way to do so. Untrained Omega’s don’t know how to hold back when consumed by the fire of hate. You’re all luck that this Omega is a Trained one. Let’s demonstrate how the battle between the Alpha that left their bloodthirsty Omega.”
I opened my eyes and looked at the wolves around me, I barely heard what Coach said but his hand signal was telling me to stay. I kept my eyes on his hand and he moved so I wasn’t distracted by the other Alpha’s. The only Alpha that deserved my rage at the moment was the one that was placed in front of me.
I heard nothing but silence and my vision was solely focused on the hand and the Alpha. I can see he wasn’t used to his wolf. The Alpha’s scent was also familiar.
Alpha Hurly.
Hurly was the one that had their scent all over my ruined cloths and locker. The scent that was all over the things that were thrown at me.
I growled and waited for the hand to move so I can launch myself to the Alpha and make him feel the pain I endured. An Alpha that doesn’t look out for me should die.
Coach’s hand moved and it was signaling me to go.
