When Adara had arrived at the garden picnic, Dogn confessed
his feelings for her and asked her to elope with him. Adara rejected his
proposal and told him that she did not reciprocate his feelings. Dogn didn't
accept her answer, he became angry, he threw her to the ground and said If he
can't have her then no one can.
Dogn forced himself on her and left then left Adara there broken and
disheveled. Dogn had already been in contact with Era, the queens spy,
beforehand and told him to stay away during their picnic day and had told him
about his plan to elope with the queen. Era being of aristocratic background
always hate the thought of a commoner become his queen and didn’t protest
Dogn’s plan. However, when Dogn didn't get his way, he quickly contacted Era
and told him to change the story of the incident, to change the narrative, Era
once again complying with Dogns plan in order to get rid of the soon-to-be
commoner queen.
The next day the spy reported back to the king that he had seen Adara and Dogn
sleep with each other. The king furiously confronted Adara, who broke down and
told the truth. But the Dogn said that Adara liked him and that she seduced
him. The king doesn't trust him at first, but as proof of their affair Era testifies
on behalf of Dogn.
The king ordered her execution in three days, instead of being taken to the
dungeon Adara was locked inside of her chambers until her execution date. Adara
fall into deep despair, she agonizes over her actions, continuously replying
the scenes from when she first met Dogn to their last meeting. Akilah warnings
echoes inside of her head. Adara foolishly blamed herself for the crime
committed towards her, the guilt and shame began tearing her at her.
Meanwhile Akilah was unaware of any of this. She had been away in the forest
near the castle with Ernest gathering a wood and resources Ernest needed for to
create weapons. The day before Adara execution and Akilah still hadn't come
back. Adara fearing that she will never be able to give Akilah a proper goodbye,
wrote Akilah farewell letter; detailing everything that had happened to her. She
managed to bribed one of the maids with a necklace she had been gifted from the
king; the maid agreed to deliver the letter to the young boy that worked with
the blacksmith, to Akilah.
The day of the execution arrived and Ernest tells Akilah that a woman had
delivered a letter to her last night while she was asleep, Akilah recognizing
the handwriting on the letter began reading it eagerly. However that excitement
quickly turned into devastation as she realizes what had happened, she tells Ernest
what had happened and they both swiftly left to the capital, only for them to
arrive just to witness Adara’s execution.
Akilah begged the executioner for her to keep Adara's head and body, the
executioner being a close acquaintance of Ernest says that he cannot give her
the head as it will be speared on the castle wall but is willing to give her
the body. Akilah; devastated and broken agrees to it. Ernest offered to help
her bury the body, but Akilah rejected his help, she took Adara’s body home and
buried it by herself.
Enduring this whole ordeal Akilah loses grip on her insanity, and out of sheer desperation made a deal with the devil.
