“What are we doing here?” I inquired.
“Sleeping! What else? You couldn’t nap, so we decided to move here. What is up with you?” she explained.
“Andy, that’s your name right?” she nodded, “Who am I?”
“You’re C.J” she clarified.
“What does that stand for?” I responded.
“Concord Jace, because your name is Concord, and your middle name is Jace. Stupid.” she laughed.
“Right, um, I’m so confused. Um, give me a moment, please. Ah, shit! Fucking hell, what the fuck is going on?!” I exclaimed angrily.
She slapped the back of my head lightly, “Five-year-olds shouldn’t use that kind of language!” she lectured.
“I’m not five! I’m 14, you fucker! I don’t even know who the fuck you are!” I yelled at her.
“Well of course you do, I’m your fiance. Don’t you remember? What’s going on with you?” Her tone started sounding worried.
“You said I was five, what the fuck kinda five-year-old has a fiance!” I shouted. “Agh! Shit! Fuck!” the headache came back, and I passed out once more only to wake up again in the room. “Andy!” I yelled as I shot up.
“You’re awake, again. Good, are you okay?” she questioned. “Why’d you say, Andy?” She looked excited, almost happy that I had said that.
“I’m not sure, just had a bad dream or something I guess. What’s happening up here Andy?”
“I’m not Andy, I’m Andrea.” she laughed, it was a solemn laugh though. It didn’t sound sincere, it sounded angry.
“Oh, shit. You’re right, sorry.” I chuckled. “So how long was I out this time?”
“Like ten minutes.”
“Oh thank god, let’s go to class! Alright, off we go!” I exclaimed with a smile, this time actually making it there. I missed homeroom so we’ll just skip to Spells.
I walked into class, “Concord! You’re okay!” Vera exclaimed, rushing in to hug me. Ms. Delilah still hadn’t come in yet.
Bell was staring daggers at me, “Um, uh, you should get off. Your girlfriend is giving me the death stare.” I explained, waving awkwardly at her. Vera let me go and gave me a big grin. Bell let out a breath, and waved back with a smile, walking over to us.
“Glad you’re okay. Don’t die, you’re one of the only people who match my power, so like ya know. Except for these weirdos.” she smiled, putting out her hand and pointing to Sylvia and Vera. I shook her hand, “Let’s be friends, seeing as Vera seems to like you. Um, this is about to get real awkward so just bear with it, please.” She was talking to me and Sylvia, we both gave her a confused look. Vera was staring at the ground, not really paying attention to us, she grabbed Vera’s wrist and pulled her into a light kiss. Vera’s eyes went wide in surprise, and so did Sylvia’s until Bell pulled back. “Sorry hon, just wanted to do that.” she smiled. Everyone’s jaws dropped to the ground at her actions.
“Well, that was uh, ‘kay.” I sighed awkwardly.
“Get to your seats!” Ms. Delilah ordered, “Good to see you’re feeling better Ms. Lance, now to your seat!” I chuckled nervously and plopped down with the three of them. That day we were learning more about summoning. “Now, many of you still seem to be struggling with this. I would like you to help each other learn more about it.” she requested.
“Man, I really can’t get this one down,” Bell whined.
“Why?” I questioned.
“What’d you mean why? It’s a fairly hard spell,” she explained.
“Huh, not really.” I objected, “Just do this,” I thought of my witching tablet, “Beckon ego te ad latus meum: et non rogavimus te autem non audieritis me.” I said sternly. It appeared a few inches above my hand, before plopping down. “See?” I smiled. I wrote something down, Hi Andrea:) Andrea Collins., I sent the message.
‘Hey cutie.’ she wrote back.
“How did you...? What did you…? What the hell?!” Sylvia exclaimed, along with similar remarks from Vera and Bell.
‘Don’t call me that.’ I wrote.
‘Lucky for me, I’m not talking.’ I drew a hand flipping her off in reaction.
“Ah, my ring. Where is it?” I asked with slight worry.
“Oh yeah! That’s right! Snowy appeared as soon as you passed out. It was pretty scary, I mean he freaked the fuck out. Andrea calmed him down though.” Sylvia explained.
“Where is-!” I groaned as a flash appeared in my mind. It was Snowy on the tallest part of the school, watching carefully.
“What is it? What happened?” Vera asked.
“Oh, nothing. Never mind, Snowy’s on the roof.” I explained.
“Huh? How do you know?” Bell questioned in surprise.
“I don’t know, I just got like a flash of sorts and saw him on the roof, it was cool.” I shrugged.
“What?! How the hell are you so good at this?! I mean you’ve only been a witch for like two weeks!” Bell exclaimed in frustration.
“I don’t know.” I shrugged.
I raised my hand, Ms. Delilah walked over to us, “Yes, Concord?” she asked in annoyance.
“Can I go to the roof to get my Familiar?” I requested.
“No, not unless you can do the spell.” she offered.
“So I just summon whatever I want?” I asked, she nodded in confusion, “Cool.” I smiled. Let’s see, I want… Raman! Okay so, beckon ego te ad latus meum: et non rogavimus te autem non audieritis me. I held my hand out, “Oh! Right, I have to say-” I cut myself off when I saw that the ramen was already in my hand.
“What? But you didn’t say it out loud,” she observed in perplexment.
“True, but I did say it in my head, like um Andrea told me to do.” I grinned.
She sighed unhappily, “Go get your animal.” she conceded. I shuffled out of the room as everyone looked at me in awe.
I rushed outside but realized that I wouldn’t be able to get to the roof, sighing in disappointment, “Oof, uh, what do I do?” I inquired, talking to myself.
“Hey, what’s going on?” I heard Andrea say.
“Hey! What’re you doing here?” I asked with a smile, jogging over to her.
“I was kicked outta class.”
