The boy raised his hands and gently grazed Kyoko's cheeks and that's when he was pulled out of his train of thoughts, a muffled sniffle left his mouth, startling his mate in front.
"I- The boy fumbled with his words and waved his hands in the air, nervously. "Did I do something wrong?" He finally gathered his courage and asked Kyoko, who was staring at him with his glistening almond coloured eyes.
Seeing how flustered his mate was, he couldn't help himself and let out a chuckle. "Nothing." He said.
The boy heaved a sigh and looked around, when he spotted a cafe nearby, he grabbed Kyoko's hand and made a run for it. A trail of electric shock waved through Kyoko's body and his heart fluttered even at the simple touch. He had once again realised that it was not a dream, his mate was right in front of him, holding his hand.
The feeling of restlessness and irritation that he felt a moment ago was like a dream because right now the feeling of elation had numbed him. I am glad, I took a long way home. His heart fluttered once again with the thought of his mate in front of him and his face broke into a childish smile.
The sound of the summer wind chime vibrated through the air when the door of the cafe flung open. Kyoko followed the boy's lead who was a total stranger to him and knew nothing about it, except the fact; he was his fated mate.
Looking at the two wet, possible customers, the owner brought them disposable paper towels.
"You will catch a cold. What would you like to have?" He asked tenderly.
"I.... hot chocolate mocha. Oh and lots of whipped cream." Kyoko looked away shyly.
He was about to turn away and place the order when Kyoko suddenly caught the hem of his cardigan sleeves, bringing him to a sudden halt.
Kyoko disregarded the butterflies he was getting on his stomach and opened his mouth. "May I know your name?"
The boy chuckled and bent forward, dangerously close to Kyoko's ear. "You should state your name before asking others."
Kyoko sucked in his breath, unable to process anything the reason being the proximity of their face but managed to utter Sasaki Kyoko.
"Kyoko, that's a nice name." Ignoring his vigorously thumping Kyoko managed to ask the question again.
"What about yours?"
The boy paused for a while. "Arnold Creed."
Then he proceeded to place an order, giving Kyoko his peace of mind for a while.
Be calm. Remember you have imagined meeting them so many times.
"Here's your order, sir." Kyoko was pulled back to reality when Arnold teasingly placed his hot chocolate mocha in front of him.
Barely managing to keep his calm, Kyoko looked over his mate; he was rather taller than what he had believed before, accoutred in a black coloured long sleeve coat that fit his sturdy body perfectly, making one imagine what he had if the clothes weren't blocking the view.
While Kyoko was taking his time, checking out his mate he didn't realise, his hazel eyes were looking back at him, tugging upwards the corner of his sultry lips, he raised an eyebrow.
"I am happy you find me attractive, but.... he pushed the cup towards Kyoko, drink it before it gets cold."
"An alpha?" Kyoko unconsciously let out. After realising what he said, he covered his mouth with his palm and looked at Arnold panicking.
"Is that bad?"
"What? Ahh... no, I just thought that my mate would be a beta." Kyoko let out a light chuckle.
Arnold, who was sitting across the table got up and leaned towards Kyoko, "You don't want me?" He growled.
Despite the aggressive proposition, his eyes reflected nothing but anxiousness. The possible prospect of his mate rejecting him formed a knot in the pit of his stomach.
Seeing how his mate reacted, Kyoko was freed from one of his worries, at least he won't get rejected as he thought. But he had to make sure, hear it from Arnold's mouth.
"Shouldn't that be my question? I am an omega while you are an alpha, far superior to us, would you still accept me?"
Arnold sighed. "If it weren't for this situation, I might've already made you mine."
His words sounded somewhat sounded threatening but his voice was as tender.
"Don't worry, I wouldn't dare without your permission." Arnold stated, his thumb caressing the back of Kyoko's hand.
"What's it like to fall in love with your fated mate?"
