“I can’t believe you aren’t as thrilled about Roy’s plan as I am.” Lucy was actually a bit irritated with Scarlett’s negativity. She rolled to her other side, showing Scarlett her back. Maybe she was being petty like this. She didn’t care. Why couldn’t Scarlett see that Roy’s plan was absolutely perfect?
They could be together forever.
“This will involve a lot of lying for the rest of your life, Lucy.” Scarlett wrapped her arm around the younger’s waist and spooned her from behind, softly kissing the spine as she pressed her bare hips against the redhead. “Lying to your family. Or were you planning on telling it to your parents?”
“I wasn’t, but I can live with them not knowing. What I can’t live with is marrying another man I don’t love. Then, I will lie to myself for the rest of my life and that’s way worse. Roy will only be my husband on paper. He knows that and I know that. It’s perfect. And I like Roy, as a friend. I know him and he knows me.”
Scarlett gave little pecks against the freckled shoulders. “That’s true, I suppose...”
Lucy turned around after Scarlett just gave her a little hope again. “So, you think the plan could work?”
“I never said it wouldn’t work. I’m... just concerned you might become disappointed because you’re making this more idyllic than it is.”
Lucy cupped Scarlett’s cheeks. “I’m not dumb. I know people will talk about me and Roy. They’ll whisper about my flawed husband, and they’ll say we probably have financial troubles, gossipping about our small house and little staff that consists of only a few servants. But do you really think I care about any of that?”
“I don’t know. Are you absolutely sure you’re okay with it? And with lying to your parents, keeping up a show?”
“I’m fine in life, as long as you’re with me. Then I will always be okay. I will always be happy. And this marriage will be a way for me to have you and be yours.” Scarlett bit her lip, and then it suddenly hit Lucy. “Wait, a minute… Is this about my future? Or is it maybe about the fact that your former suitor promised you a life of happiness too and never gave you anything? Are you scared? Scared I’m promising you false happiness, as he did? You think I won’t stay true to my words?”
“I didn’t—”
“Because that would make me truly sad, Scarlett. I thought you trust me?”
“I do trust you.”
“But?”
“No buts. I only care about your happiness.”
Lucy pressed her mouth against the older’s plump lips. Sometimes she forgot that Scarlett was also only a human being and not some superwoman. Of course, Scarlett also had her insecurities. But she would never hurt her.
“Good, because I will keep my word. I’m not like him.”
“Thank goodness you’re not. You’re my little Lucy.”
“Oh, shut up with that little Lucy, woman.”
Scarlett chuckled as she brushed her fingers through Lucy’s hair. “I do think we should meet Roy’s lover before you say yes to his proposal. She will be the woman you’ll- I mean we will have to live with for the rest of our lives.”
Lucy nodded, grabbing Scarlett’s hand to kiss her long, slim fingers. “I have thought about that already,” she answered, kissing the new diamond ring. “Haven’t you had any questions about this?” She asked, brushing over the thin golden band.
“Oh, actually, I have. They asked me how I got it. Asked if I stole it.” Scarlett rolled her eyes.
“You stole something from me, though,” Lucy replied.
“Huh? I did no such thing.” Scarlett’s eyes grew wide.
“You did. You stole my heart.” Lucy started giggling.
“Oh my God, Lucy. That’s… that’s so sweet,” Scarlett replied. “And you also gave me something.”
“Yes, I gave you a ring.”
“That, too, yes. And you also gave me your pussy.”
“Scarlett!”
“Lucy’s pussy…” The other could tease as well, and she laid her hand against Lucy’s intimate spot. “I love how that rolls off my tongue: Lucy’s pussy.” She cupped the short copper curly hair. “Lucy’s pussy. Hmm,” Scarlett purred. “I also love how my tongue can roll over it…”
“Scarlett, stop,” Lucy giggled harder.
“Why?” Scarlett leaned in and took hold of Lucy’s bottom lip, tugging it between her teeth, softly pulling before she traced her tongue to Lucy’s ear and whispered, “Lucy’s pussy is mine… I love how wet it gets for me...”
Lucy chuckled out loud when Scarlett tickled her sides. When the older stopped, they looked at each other, smiling. “I’ll never leave you. I love you,” the younger one said.
“I love you too, milady. My Lucy.”

The day after, the two women took a carriage to visit Roy and his fiance, Angela, to give their answer. They wouldn’t meet at Castle Dearhorn or Castle Wilson, because Roy couldn’t take Angela there, so they agreed to meet at the place Angela and her son stayed. Roy had secretly rented a room for the two of them outside of town.
The place wasn’t in the best state, but Scarlett explained to Lucy that this was a place that the nobles would never visit and that Roy, therefore, had chosen this place.
As they walked through the long, foul-smelling hallway, Lucy grabbed Scarlett’s hand.
“What are you doing?” the maid asked, whispering.
“You said yourself that nobody we know would ever set foot in this area.”
“But we still need to be careful,” Scarlett whispered, trying to snatch her hand away, but Lucy wouldn’t budge.
“I’m holding your hand until we are there.”
Five seconds later, they stood in front of door number twenty. It was Angela’s room. Scarlett knocked five times, which was the amount they agreed upon so that Angela and Roy knew it was them
Roy opened the door. He was there already, but he would accompany Lucy and Scarlett home when the visit was over.
“Come inside, please. This is Angela. Angela, this is Lucy and that’s Scarlett.”
Lucy had never seen a woman of color before and when she saw Angela, she fully admired the lady’s ebony shiny skin. Angela wore a silk piece of cloth around her head to cover her hair and a beautiful light blue gown.
She was beautiful. Not as beautiful as Scarlett was, because nobody could measure up to Scarlett’s beauty in Lucy’s eyes, but still very beautiful.
“Roy has told me so much about you,” Angela said, presenting a curtsy to the two ladies.
“Let us talk, girls,” Roy said impatiently. When Lucy said they accepted Roy’s offer, the man smiled from ear to ear. “Thank you, Lucy,” he said.
“I’m not doing this for you. I’m doing this for me— for us.” Lucy grabbed Scarlett’s hand, looked, and smiled at her.
“You are a lovely couple,” Angela said.
They then had a cup of tea and got to know each other a bit more. Angela had a son, Leon, who was fourteen and found a job at the newspaper printing house where he also was at the moment, so Lucy and Scarlett would have to wait to meet him.
Angela had been young when she became a mother, only fifteen. The father wasn’t in the picture anymore. He died a few years back.
“Roy is my hero,” Angela said, looking at her lover with shimmering eyes. “It hurts that we’ll have to keep this a secret, but I don’t want Roy to live with the guilt that he’ll feel when people say he has put shame on his family. So… I’m okay with it. And, Lucy, you seem like a lovely girl.”
“She is,” Roy replied.
“So, how will we do this?” Scarlett asked.
“First, we’ll visit Mr. Dearhorn to ask for Lucy’s hand,” Roy said. “Before my face looked like this, I was pretty sure that asking for her hand was enough, but now that my face does look like this, I think Lucy will have to be there for the talk to say she truly wants to marry me too.”
“We just need to remind mama and papa that you are a rich Wilson,” Lucy said, rolling her eyes.
“I don’t think it will be that easy,” Roy replied. “You really need to show you actually want to marry me.”
“And then what?” Scarlett asked. “If they accept?”
“We'll tell our siblings,” Lucy said before Roy could answer.
He nodded. “I want to tell Jack and Celina, yes. And I want them to know Angela as my wife.”
“Will they really keep it to themselves?” Angela asked.
“Oh, they will,” Lucy and Roy said simultaneously.
