The rest of the ride to the Gergio’s was done in pure silence. Well I guess Sean and Jasmine were talking to each other through mindlink with the way Jasmine kept sighing and Sean kept shaking his head. When I pulled into the parking lot Jasmine was the first person out of the car.

“You guys talk, I’ll wait for the both of you inside.” She was about to close the door when she turned back almost hitting her head on the door. 

“Don’t hurt yourself. I do not want to be on the receiving end of your mom's rage.” She laughs but I’m serious. There is a reason why most people in the pack steer clear of their family. They are good people, it’s just that Mrs. Wesley is a bit too overprotective of her husband and only child. I can understand her though. She works with the rouge mothers who have been abandoned by their partners. I overheard one of her many conversations with my mom, she wanted to protect Jasmine from that. Even if it meant setting her up with potential mates or locking her up in the house for the rest of her life.

“Is it okay if I order while I wait? There is a new flavor I have been dying to try” She asks after pulling herself together. 

“Yeah go ahead.” She was already gone before I finished my sentence. She reminds me of my little brother with the way she acts sometimes. 

“I’m sorry about Jasmine and I’m sorry for avoiding you this past week.” Sean says a few seconds after Jasmine rushed off.

“Jasmine is fine, a bit excessive but she’s fun to be around.” He nods his head.

“What about the other thing? Are you mad at me for avoiding you?” I didn’t know how to answer him right at this moment. It would be a lie if I said I am not a little mad, hurt even. The real question here is though, do I have a right to be though? I can tell that my silence is making Sean uncomfortable but I really didn’t know how to answer him.

“I guess you are and you have every right to be.” He rushes to say. 

“I’m sorry. I shouldn’t have let it drag on this long. The entire school knows about the day that you threw her off of you. Even though I had heard about it, for some reason I still believed her words.” He didn’t have to apologize, I’m being a big baby about the whole thing.

“No need to apologize. I'm not mad at you, I’m mad at the situation.” Which is partially true. I have to give Sean time to trust me entirely, if not then he will always question everything he hears.

“As long as you believe me when I say I never told Beth she was my mate or anyone else for that matter.” I wanted to reiterate the fact.

“Yes, I believe you. I really don’t know why I let her get to me.”

“It’s cool. Now we can move past it and you can stop avoiding me. I like hanging out with you and your friends during lunch. Even Sara felt a bit hurt, she thought you guys became companions on the segway to being friends.” He covers his face and I smile. Jeremiah is also back in a good mood and enjoying being able to be close to Sean after so long. 

“So are we good now? We can talk more later if there is still something you would like to know.” He has been twisting his hands together in his lap. 

“There is something I would like to ask you but I want you to just give me the first answer that pops into your head.” Nodding my agreement, I wait for him to ask his question but he gets out of the car instead.

“I think we made Jasmine wait long enough. I’ll ask you when you drop me off. Cool?” I really couldn’t stay mad at Sean for too long. He is my fated mate after all.

“That’s fine. I’m a very patient guy.” He smiles. I get out of the car and we head into the shop together. Jasmine was still standing at the counter when we got inside. It looks like she was testing some flavors out. When we join her she passes a spoon to Sean for him to taste whatever flavor it was she was trying. 

We spent a couple hours in the shop testing some of the new flavors and talking about all the things that we didn't get to tell eachother for the week. It was nice being able to be in a comfortable setting where Sean is laughing and smiling, actually enjoying our time together. It might be because Jasmine is here but I’ll take what I can get where I can get it. Now we were heading to Sean’s house singing along to the radio. Jasmine had told Sean she was going to be staying for dinner since her parents weren’t going to be home until late. I can tell that Jasmine spends a lot of time at Sean’s house. They were talking about possible clothing options available to her at Sean’s house in case she decides to sleep over. 

Pulling up in front of Sean’s house I can see that his dad’s car isn’t there but the lights are on.

“Yay! Brenda is home already.” Jasmine basically yells as she runs out of the car into the house. She stops at the door and turns sheepishly back towards us. 

“Sorry. Thanks for the ice cream and the ride. See you tomorrow.” She closed the door after that. I shook my head. Jasmine really was something, I would like to see how her mate deals with her. They have their work cut out for them and I just might know who it is too. I chuckle to myself not realizing that Sean is looking at me. 

“What is it?” He asks. 

“Nothing at all.” I’ll tell him some other time, it’s not my place to tell others business.

“So what did you want to ask me? I’m very curious so ask away.” He goes back to twisting his hands in his lap but he doesn't make me wait long for his response.

“So that day when you told me I was your mate. You also said that you will let me take this at my pace right.” I nod trying to figure out where he was going with this.

“Well, I have been thinking about something since our date.” He takes a deep breath. 

“I’m going out on a limb here and I’m going to ask this once so please just give the first answer that comes to your head. No thinking, I want your honest answer.” He pauses again and I let him get his thoughts in order. I can see that he is struggling to ask whatever it is he wants to. 

“I know we have only been on one date and are still getting to know each other and everything. Would you like to be my boyfriend?” I swear my heart was going to beat right out of my chest with how fast it was beating. Not even thinking about it.

“Yes, I would like that very much.” I had to pinch myself a few times to make sure I wasn’t dreaming. Sean actually asked me out. 

“Are you serious?” 

“Very serious. I have been thinking about it a lot too. We can go as slow as you want but this means you can’t avoid me anymore. You have to talk things out with me. If I do something you don’t like, tell me and I will try my best to not do it again.” Jeremiah is now extremely happy at this turn of events. The day started off very dark and gloomy and now it was all rainbows and sunshine. 

“I better get inside before they come looking for me. I will see you tomorrow okay.” He says opening the door.

“Yeah, same time and place. I’ll bring lunch and you bring the snacks. Deal?” I say with my hand out for him to shake. Instead of shaking my hand though, he catches me completely off guard by using my hand to pull me closer to him. Before I could process what was going on Sean had already cupped my face in his hands with his lips only an inch from mine. 

“Don’t say anything, just go with it.” He doesn't give me a chance to respond before he slams his lips down on mine. I let him lead it for a bit but he was driving me crazy. I couldn’t take much more of this, it was getting way too hot in the car. Breaking the kiss, Sean gets out of the car quickly only turning back once he made it to his front door. 

“Text me when you get home. Good night.” He waved as he closed the door.

“If you keep doing that, how do you expect me to control myself and Jeremiah?” I say out loud, pulling myself back down to earth long enough to get home. Sean and I were now officially together but I will continue to let him set the pace. 

‘What are you going to do about Beth?’ Jeremiah says dampening my mood a bit. I was tired of Beth and her cronies. All they knew how to do was annoy people until they got what they wanted.  ATTENTION!

‘Nothing much we can do outside of talking to dad about it. For now I will leave her be.’ For now the only thing I want to focus on from now on was Sean and getting ready to take over from dad in a few months. I hope he doesn’t regret this and changes his mind later. Taking a deep breath to calm my nerves as I pull into our driveway. One step at a time Jax, patience is key.
