Chapter 3

Chapter 3

Aug 03, 2021

Later couldn’t come any slower. Kind Person asked more questions, if A had any siblings, family, friends. Was being held against their will, being paid. If The People were hunters.

A shook their head to all of the questions but KP didn’t seem to like how A said no to being held against their will. Which confused A, why would Kind Person not like that.

Soon other people joined them. The Significant Other, Dimwit #1 and #2, the person A was supposed to kill and someone else. The Significant Other and the Target are both male.  Making A think if this entire pack was gay, seeing as both Dimwit’s were also male.

“So what did they say?”

“They don’t answer unless it’s a yes or no question.” KP answered.

“Why did you try and kill my mate?!” SFO barked.

“Yes or no questions, honey.”

Character A watched as a shorter male held onto the Significant other’s arm. A stared at the Target, the good hand twitching. The urge to complete the mission had come back.

Obviously sensing A’s bad intentions, the Target moved behind his SFO. Making the Significant Other growl.

A just moved their stare over to SFO, full hate bubbling in their stomach as A continued to stare.

“Are you going to try and kill him now?” SFO asked.

A stared blankly at them.

“Thought you said that they answer yes or no questions.” Dimwit #2 reminded.

“They do.” KP stated, “Hey you okay?”

Character A didn’t move a muscle, a staring contest started between A and SFO.

“You two out.” The other person commanded.

The Target moved out of the room, making A flinch in the slightest.

“Try. I dare you.” The Significant Other provoked.

A knew not to move.

“Didn’t think so.” SFO scoffed before heading outside.

With them out of the room, Character A went back to staring at a spot in the wall. Thinking back to the plan.

“Fill us in.” The other person ordered.

Kind Person did as ordered and repeated everything that A had answered too. A had felt the eyes of everyone - but Kind Person - on them.

“How are they not being held against their will?” Dimwit #1 asked.

“I don’t know.” KP answered.

“Have you figured out why they don’t have a scent?” The other asked.

“No sir, I thought it might be from the hunters. Whoever trained them isn’t a hunter.” KP answered.

“Everyone has a natural scent.” Dimwit #2 pointed out, “So where is theirs?”

“You know you don’t have a scent, don’t you?” Dimwit #1 toyed. “That’s why you thought you could sneak in?”

A slowly turned their gaze from the wall over to Dimwit #1 with a stare of ‘are you dumb?’ then going back to the plan.

“Go see if you can find anything on the outskirts of the grounds.” Sir commanded.

“Yes sir.” Both Dimwitts said in unison, not being twins.

“You, go get the doctor.” Sir pointed to KP.

Kind Person left with both Dimwitts, leaving Sir and Character A in the room alone.

A watched him out of the corner of their eye, knowing that they wouldn’t be able to take Sir on. Especially with the broken arm, but escaping wasn’t off the table.

Sir stood there staring at A, waiting to see what they would do. Waiting to see if they would kill him or escape. Sir had the door covered but the window would be tougher. Moving around the bed, he stood where he knew he would be able to cover both. Ultimately blocking the vent.

A didn’t like it. Now there was nothing. Fighting him wouldn’t result in a good ending and neither would escaping. A laid back down on the bed, getting more comfortable. Knowing this would take a while.

“You’ll only respond with yes and no but not to us.” Sir stated, “You aren’t getting paid. You aren’t being held against your will or being forced. No siblings, family or friends. Very alone aren’t you?”

Character A knew where this was going, he was trying to play with their feelings. If only they had some.

“Very sad life to live, don’t you think. Doing a job, not getting rewarded for it, no one to call family, no one who cares about you.” Sir continued. “But who are you?”

Excuse me? I am the author! Who the hell are you?!

There’s a mission, someone has to die. The mission goes off the wall, creating a huge mess but can it be done accomplished.
This last mission means freedom but not in the way you would think.

Disclaimer: These characters don’t have names, just titles. The titles are in bold so you can tell who is who. There is also no description of the characters. You get to imagine what you think they would look like. I’m not fully sure why I have it this way but that’s what happened. If it gets confusing just ask for clarification, I’ll try to explain it as best as I can.

Make the plan, Execute the plan, Expect the plan to go off the rails, Throw away the plan.
