We head downstairs, where his family is already gathered around the kitchen table. I recognize his three siblings, plus a woman with black hair that I think I've seen on occasion.
"Ah! There you both are!" Isabel chirps, her green eyes sparkling. "Alpha Easton, it's so nice to have you here for dinner. I hope you remember Ophelia and Xander. And of course, you know Enzo, since he's one of your warriors."
"Of course," I smile politely. "It's nice to see you all again."
"And this is Lillian, Enzo's mate," Isabel gestures to the black-haired women at his side. Lillian extends her hand for me to shake.
"It's an honor to meet you, Alpha Easton," Lillian says warmly. "Enzo's told me how much the warrior training program has improved since you became Alpha."
I blink in surprise. "Is that so? Well, I'm glad to hear that."
Landon tugs my arm, gesturing for me to take my seat next to him. I see his family watching us curiously out of the corner of my eye as I settle into my seat. Isabel and Victor set the food out on the table before taking their places at each end.
The family dives into what I assume is their usual small talk. Asking about each other's day, discussing Enzo's training, and bragging about how well Xander is doing in school. The youngest Grey child blushes, ducking his head down shyly.
"Mom, dad," Landon starts once everyone is halfway through their meals. I can feel his nervousness radiating off of him, and I squeeze his knee. "I have something to tell you."
"What is it?" Victor asks, and all eyes turn to him. Landon stammers, fidgeting in his seat.
"Easton has something to tell you," he squeaks, and my eyes bulge.
Did he really just throw me under the bus?
"Sorry," Landon mouths silently.
Drawing in a deep breath, I sit up straight and face is family. "Landon is my mate."
The table falls silent as everyone stares blankly at us. That familiar feeling of panic starts to pick at my chest, worrying that his family is going to be disgusted that their son is mated to a man.
"Dear Goddess," Isabel breathes out, and I prepare for the worst. "Landon is going to be our Luna?"
Dumbfounded, I nod my head once. "Y-Yes. Once he's of age, of course."
"You're gay?" Lia snorts, and Landon glares at her.
"Shut up," he grumbles with reddened cheeks.
"Ophelia," Isabel scolds. "I've told you this before. None of that matters when it comes to your mate."
"Have you guys already mated?" Enzo speaks up, glowering at me. I gulp and shake my head.
"No. We plan to take it slow and get to know each other first."
"I think it's cool," Xander says softly, and Landon relaxes with a smile.
"Dad?" Landon calls out hesitantly.
Victor leans back in his seat. "It makes sense now why you two have been spending so much time together. Landon, you're okay with this?"
"Yes," Landon says with a confidence that makes my heart soar. "I wasn't at first, but... I've been getting to know Easton over the past few months, and... I think I'm going to be happy as his mate."
If we weren't in front of his family, I would tackle him in kisses right here.
Isabel sniffles, wiping tears from her eyes. "I'm so happy to see another one of my babies find their mate! Our Landon, Luna of the Silver Woods Pack!"
"Mom," Landon groans, covering his face in embarrassment. I laugh, rubbing his back soothingly. The action makes Isabel coo about how adorable we are, which embarrasses Landon further.
After dinner, Isabel tightly hugs me goodbye, saying how she can't wait for us to be a family. I shake hands with everyone else, and Landon walks me outside.
"I'm sorry about my mom," Landon winces as we walk. "She gets very excited."
"I like that she's so happy for us," I tell him, reaching down to intertwine our fingers. "And I like that you're happy too."
Landon stops walking and faces me with a shy smile. "I am."
My heart pounds as I look down at him, taking a step closer. I place my free hand under his chin, tilting his head up towards me. Landon's minty breath brushes my lips as he stares at me with sparkling blue eyes.
"Can I?" I whisper, and Landon gives a small nod. I close the small gap between us and press our lips together. Sparks erupt throughout my body as our bond hums contentedly. His lips are so soft, so perfect against mine.
I kiss him slowly, not wanting to move too quickly. Landon takes me by surprise by pressing his tongue to my lips, wordlessly asking for access that I am all too eager to grant. His tongue slips into my mouth, making us both moan. Our tongues rub together as I wrap my arms around his waist, pulling him flush against me. Landon winds his arms around my neck, deepening the kiss.
I'm not sure how long we stand there kissing, lost in our own little world. Eventually, we break apart for air, and I notice with pride that Landon's lips are slightly swollen.
He smiles tenderly at me, pulling me into a tight hug. I embrace my mate affectionately, burying my face in the crook of his neck and breathing him in.
