Monday!
Fucking Monday!
When the alarm started I felt like I had slept less than an hour. With closed eyes, my hand reached for the clock to turn the ringing noise off. Then I fell asleep again. I didn’t even take a look at the time.
“Hun-” A wet nose bumped on my cheek and whiskers tickled my skin.
“Honey, don’t you have to get up?” His soft, deep voice purred into my ear. “No. We took the week off.” “I know. But haven’t we decided to take Tau to school - especially you?” “I - no! That was someone else.” “Babe! Wake up. Don’t mess this up!”
Warm hands reached for me and pulled me to the edge of the bed.
“Baby, that’s not fair”, I mumbled as I tried to open my eyes, which felt like the weight of stones - mountains. “I can’t even open my eyes!” “Nik! Stop fooling ‘round! Get up already!”
“Kaami, please! I - WHOA! WAIT!”
When suddenly the mattress underneath my butt stopped being there I instantly opened my eyes. Just in time for grabbing and holding onto Kaami’s arm.
“Don’t let go! Don’t let go!” “Will you get up”, he smirked with a raised eyebrow. “Yes! I will! Now! Don’t let-”
Finally, he pulled me back in, hugged me, kissed my temples.
“Then go. You`ll be late.”
“Love you.” I kissed him back - this time on his lips. He smiled against mine and pulled me even closer. Warm hands stroked over my bare skin and left a tickling feeling on my body.
“I love you, too.”
When I left the bedroom with Kaami laying in the bed - which I hated because I wanted to sleep in, too and I wanted to hold him and hug him and, well, do other things, too - I recognized some noises. This time they were no crying noises but - talking ones? Or rather rapping ones?
Tau was already up and listening to some kind of Rap-Music?
Without stopping at his room I walked straight to the bathroom and opened the door.
Water noises.
The light was on.
“Oh my god”, I choked out.
Tau was standing in front of the sink.
In the middle of his movement, he stopped and turned in my direction.
His eyes widened.
My heartbeat got louder and louder like really big jungle drums.
Tau’s chest was naked, as well as his legs and his - whole body.
“Oh god! Get out!”
Instinctively he covered his chest with his thin, long arms. “I - I’m sorry. I didn’t want to” I stuttered walking one step back, stumbling.
“Out! Out! Out!” his voice echoed in my head as he walked towards me and slammed the bathroom door.
I could hear the key turn around.
My face felt like burning.
What just happened?
Did I -
“Damn!”
I rubbed my eyes.
Why did this happen to me?
Why did I always get myself into these kinds of situations?
“Tau?”
Silence.
I could only hear splashing water.
“Tau, I’m really sorry. But I didn’t know you were in here.”
“Leave!”
His voice was shaking, almost breaking.
“I’m sorry, okay? Take your time. I’ll be in the kitchen and prepare some breakfast, if-” “JUST LEAVE!”
His voice cut me off and I turned to go back to the bedroom.
“Kaami.” I sat on his side of the bed and looked at the blanket that was literally covering his whole body.
“Hm”
“Kaami, I’m so stupid!”
From underneath the pillows, a furred arm laid on my lap and patted me gently.
“Happens sometimes.”
“No! I - like really stupid”, I sighed and squeezed his fingers.
“Like what”, he asked and his face appeared next to my sitting body.
“I- I thought he was in his room. I could only hear this stupid music in his room and didn’t pay attention to any other sounds. I entered the bathroom and the first thing I see is his naked butt!”
“His what?”
Now he rose, eyebrows furrowing.
“What did you do?”
“I left? I was so shocked I couldn’t even react instantly.”
Kaami looked at me, scanned my face which felt even warmer.
“That’s why you look like a tomato?”
He raised his arm and his fingers brushed through my bangs and over my cheek.
“Don’t even dare-”
“Is he alright?”
“I guess? I just left and he slammed the door right in front of my face.” “Understandable.”
“Kaami! What should I do? I’ve never been in such a situation! I could use a little help here!”
“Just-” he paused brushing over my burning cheek and put a kiss on the tip of my nose.
“Just be normal. Don’t behave as if he caught you in an act.” “But he did - kinda?” “I mean: You don’t have to hide anything like a pervert. This was just a bad coincidence. Nothing to worry about. Act as normal as you can.”
I nodded - not very convinced though - and got up to grab some clothes.
With sweatpants and a hoody, I left again, just in time for Tau to leave the bathroom and entering his room.
