The blue-eyed man was standing behind me, wobbling pitifully, soaking in scarlet blood, that was dripping little by little on the already red ground. His dark clothes were all scratched and destroyed, exposing his marble white skin in different places. Bent, barely standing on his feet, he looked at me furiously with his big, glowing blue eyes, as if he wanted to tell me, that everything of this happened because of my fault. Judging gaze. I should be the one to judge here. He took an entire squadron, all alone. And all of them were now lying around, defeated, scattered.
Looking at him, I could say he was exhausted from all the battles he just fought, he could collapse any minute, but still, he was standing before me, trying to stop me from my escape. He is trying so hard... In this state, can he even stop me…?
I tried to flee, I took a small careful step backwards, into the dark alleyway, but the man flicked his hand, and a blue light immediately flashed right next to me, cutting my sleeve open, and painfully burning my dark skin. I went a few steps back in panic, but fell to the harsh ground right after.
— What the heck... do you want from me? I... I promise I won’t tell anyone! Just please... Let me go... — I said with the shivering voice, holding my burnt hand.
— Why did you even come here in the first place? This place... No one was supposed to know about it... And yet YOU fucking showed yourself here... Why you? Of the all people that could come... I’m not letting you go anywhere.
His gaze became cloudy, mysterious. He leaned towards the wall to support himself, as he was about to collapse. But he was still standing, and waiting for my response. His husky voice sounded somehow familiar...
What did he mean by saying: „You, of all the people...” I... I came here by accident! This... This stupid dark cat brought me here! And now, it disappeared again! I never wanted to approach this man in the first place! All I wanted to do is to help this poor creature. I’m not going to be stopped by this man’s malicious and toxic talk. He mercilessly slaughtered all of those soldiers... And he wants me to stay? For what? No way. If he wanted me dead, he could have done it a long time ago! He... he has a deeper purpose... Which I don’t care for! Or... do I?
Lying on the ground, I was looking at him with a confused sight. He looked really badly, ready to fall to the ground any second. But he still observed me closely, ready to move his hand, and create this weird hostile light. What even was it? He... he really wants to stop me with all of his strength huh? I...
— It... hurts... so badly...
He stuttered to hold onto something, but quickly fell to the ground right before me. And now, we both were on the cold concrete road, struggling to move, without any purpose. He unexpectedly caught my leg, holding it tightly, blocking any of my movements. I tried to get out of his grip, but... Seeing him being in pain like that... I wanted to get free but at the same time hurting him... No! I can’t pity someone who executed so many people at once! And he doesn’t even want my freedom! I need to get out of here now! I don’t want to be here anymore! I’ve seen too much... And I have to deliver that astounding recording of mine! I need to get free... Tears came up into my eyes. I struggled.
Suddenly, I heard a loud gunshot, and then, out of nowhere, I could move my legs freely again. What?
Shocked, I looked around, and in disbelief, saw a young Order Officer, leaning against the wall not so far away from me. He was standing tall, in his blue uniform, covered in blood and burns. Holding a weapon with the little, red, sparkling light. His beautiful green like an emerald eyes were looking at me pitifully, yet glaring into them... made me so calm... Wait! Isn’t that this soldier that I’ve tripped on when getting in here? He... He is all good now! But... How?!
From somewhere far away in the sky, I heard slowly arising flyers’ noises. Flyers were the machines that Order Officers used to quickly transport themselves to different places... With every second the sounds were coming closer to our place... And coming from the big area that the battlefield was on, I heard loud noises of a crowd coming, talking, screaming, sighing, probably seeing all the massacre that happened. The people, inhabitants of this cursed metropolis, have they finally appeared? If yes, where have they been today, leaving their beloved streets empty like void? What the hell was happening?
I haven’t noticed until now, that the reason my blue-eyed opposer let me free, was because his arm was shot with the weapon the officer was holding. How... how has this man on the verge of his life recovered so quick? And the blue-eyed... Should I leave him as he is?
The green-eyed man reached for something in his pocket. He took out my communication device, that I have dropped near him, when I tried to escape. I looked at it shockingly.
— Thanks for this. — He said as he dropped my device right before my feet.
He... He used it?
— Ho-how? I thought you were wounded so badly... I didn’t expect you to survive! I hoped, I believed... but deep inside me... I knew you wouldn’t come out of it... How?
— I asked him in disbelief.
— We soldiers have our own ways... But what are you waiting for any longer? Go. Escape. Right now. — He announced with his firm voice.
— But... — I looked doubtfully at the unconscious masked attacker, lying right next to me... What will happen to him? I want to know, why haven’t he finished me earlier? Why has he gone so easily on me?
— I will deal with him. Thanks for the distraction before. Now, go before the others come.
The loud noise of the flyers was filling the whole air now, as I saw few of them flying in the air right above me. In the distance I heard an upcoming crowd of armed people, as the weapons they carried sounded characteristically. The Sun was high enough in the sky, so I could barely, but still see the dark void alleyways before me. I looked at the rueful lying body of blue-eyed once again. If the destiny allows us to, we will meet again. And I will get the answer out of him for sure. I glanced at the tall, handsome green-eyed officer, nodded my head in approval, and rapidly rushed towards the dark alley, hoping that nothing would stop me anymore.
I... I couldn’t describe the wonderful, yet mournful feeling I felt right now. I wanted to scream at the top of my lungs. I had an urge to let all of my overwhelming worries, fear and pity out of my poor body and mind. I couldn’t stop the glassy tears that were coming out of my eyes. They were magically dancing in the air as I run down the narrow dark alleyway. Only a few more corners, and I will finally be free! Finally!
But before I could run to the long-searched exit, right behind the first corner on my way, there was a man crawling on the ground, leaving a trail of fresh blood behind him, that I haven’t noticed earlier. The hood fell of his head, showing his beautiful shiny silver hair, like the majestic water in the sunny river stream.
Hearing that I ran forwards, in the last moment, he suddenly moved his leg on the middle of the way, making me unexpectedly react to avoid tripping on it. I jumped through it, but after landing, I lost my balance, shook a few times, and scratched my knee on the rough ground. I heard a quiet and evil laugh. I stood up immediately, shook the dust off my knee, and turned back to look at this mischievous person. He turned his head up, and looked at me viciously with his nasty, dark-gray eyes, coming from under his silver, blood stained bangs. This person... I recognized the man that previously came up to the blue-eyed man in the dark alley, and told him to finish us off quickly.
— So... He didn’t kill you...?
I glanced and him with fear. Does this person have some evil power up against his sleeve too? I couldn’t wonder. I couldn’t wait. I wanted to run from here as quick as possible.
— This officer... Didn’t know this motherfu... — The silver-haired man coughed badly. — Screw you both...!
He attempted to get up and catch my leg, but he fell back to the ground right after. I... I don’t care about him. The officers will deal with them. I turned my back to him, and once again, started running forward into the alleyway, towards the light at the exit of my never ending escape.
