The start of my first year in college, great. One thing that doesn’t quite come across in discussions about college is just how many people there are.
Now don’t misunderstand, I'm not a misanthrope; I would simply rather be alone.
Of course, this means that I share a dorm with the loudest guy known to man- Luke, his entire existence makes me question people's belief in God.
And of course, staying true to his character, he dragged every single person that he could find into our dorm for a party.
I don’t care if it’s a Saturday and people should have fun, I want them gone.
Unfortunately, due to our dorm room being one, big open area, there is no room for me to retreat to.
Consequently, I find the next logical solution: hiding in our closet until this nightmare ends.

Parties, the bane of my existence. But here I am, waltzing into my own personal hell.
Why you may be asking, well I made the mistake of mentioning this party to my mother, who proceeded to threaten the life of my precious fish- Atticus (yes, he is as sophisticated as he sounds) If I didn’t socialise.
She said that I should make friends my own age, as though Sheila, the sweet lady from the old folks home meant nothing.
I decided that my being here did not equal me socialising and so I determined that I would find a suitable place to hide.
Why don’t I just go back to my dorm, you're asking, well somehow my mother always knows exactly where I am, so this is the only option.
I quickly realise that this task would not be an easy one- the dorm is one open space. Instead of hiding in the bathroom, I made my way to a closet, I would go to great lengths to escape human Interaction.
