A New Day, A New Mask
Ricky awoke to the sound of his fourth alarm going off. Thank God he had woken up before his crazy-ass mother busted into his room. Ricky felt himself start manically laughing his mother wasn’t the crazy one, but they didn’t know that.
Ricky drug himself out of bed and walked into his bathroom to piss, stepping over towels on his journey to the toilet. Ricky kicked the toilet, and it shifted. He sighed remembering how father had yelled at him, for the loose toilet. It was like his father thought he had beat it with a hammer or something. Ricky chuckled to himself “Don’t worry father, there are far more interesting things to hit with hammers.”
Ricky flushed the toilet before maneuvering his way over to the sink; he really needed to pick up his bathroom. Ricky actually doing that wasn’t very likely though. Sighing, he looked into the square mirror hanging just above his sink; his big, green eyes staring back.from underneath his messy light-brown hair. Ricky laughed before raising his hands, pretending to form a gun. “Oh you thought you were gonna kill me did you?” Ricky chuckled. “Well now I’ve got the gun. PREPARE TO DIE BITCH!” Ricky pretended to shoot his reflection, laughing to himself.
Suddenly, Ricky felt like he was being watched. Turning around slowly, he saw his mother’s dumb cat, Jug, staring curiously at him from the floor. Ricky glared at the cat. He could laugh as much as he wanted, no one else was awake to be bothered by it. It was certainly better for Ricky to get his laughter out at, he checked the time, 5:45 in the morning, in the safety of his room, rather than in the janitor's closet at school.
Ricky glared at the confused cat once more, before exiting his room and walking into the kitchen, making sure to slide Risky Business style down the hallway as he left his room.
Ricky contemplated momentarily before turning on the coffee pot. He wasn’t all that fond of coffee, but it sure pissed his parents off when he drank it. His father even blamed Ricky’s short stature on the beverage.
Ricky’s head snapped up as he heard his mother screech “RICKY IS THAT YOU IN THERE?” Fuck, the coffeemaker had woken her up. Ricky swore that damn lady couldn’t stay asleep for anything, no matter how quiet he was.
Hoping she’d forget and fall back asleep, Ricky held his breath, and turned off the coffeemaker. “RICKY WHY ARE YOU IN THE KITCHEN?!” He sighed, she wasn’t giving up. “YOU BETTER NOT BE DRINKING COFFEE!!!”
“Dammit” Ricky cursed under his breath. “WhAt DiD yOu JuSt SaY, yOuNg MaN?! His mother screeched loudly from her bedroom. Ricky covered his mouth, surprised she had heard him. He began to sneak back to his room, holding tightly onto his third cup of coffee, when he heard Angry Fat Man’s voice echo throughout the house. “HEY, DUMBASS! GET IN HERE!” Muttering shit under his breath, Ricky carefully sat his mug on the island in the kitchen, before slowly walking towards his parents room.
“Yes father?” Ricky mumbled quietly, but loud enough for Angry Fat Man to hear him. His father was not as soft-spoken as he screamed at Ricky for using profanities. Not wanting to fight with Angry Fat Man, Ricky quickly apologized, but stupidly retaliated with “you did just call me a dumbass,” making his father even angrier.
“THAT’S BECAUSE YOU ARE A DUMBASS, NOW SHUT YOUR BITCHY MOUTH AND SAY YES DAD I UNDERSTAND!” Ricky grit his teeth. Not wanting to get into a yelling match with his father at 6 in the morning, Rickys managed a “yes Father I understand,”as he swiftly exited his parents room.
“YOU'RE A CHILD AND I’M AN ADULT, I CAN SAY WHATEVER I WANT!” Ricky heard his father call after him. Ricky was 17, but he knew his father would never see him as an equal.
He turned back to smile at his Angry Fat Man, that’s what Ricky did instead of crying, he smiled through the pain. He wouldn’t let his father break him, he was strong, he was feared, he would be feared!
Ricky watched as Angry Fat Man whispered something about Ricky’s “creepy-ass-smile” to his mother, before turning back to Ricky, who was now speed-walking back to his room. “You can go now fag!” Angry Fat Man yelled after Ricky, who, at this point, was already back to his room.
Ricky laughed, he had thought his father hated him before he found out Ricky was gay.
Honestly, Ricky couldn’t see why his fruitiness pissed Angry Fat Man and his older sister, Milly, off so much.Thankfully, Ricky’s mother could care less about Ricky’s sexuality, though she was still a major bitch.
Ricky walked into his closet, before deciding on a pair of sweatpants and a baby-blue hoodie. He then spent 5 minutes looking for his favorite white sneakers that gave him 2 inches in height, making him a respectable 5’6. When he found them under his bed, he quickly slid his mismatched socks into the ratty sneakers, walking over to the mirror that hung on his wall to growl at himself. Ricky smiled at this, he was so scary!
Ricky unplugged his phone that was resting on his nightstand, deciding to text his boyfriend, William. Ricky wasn’t particularly fond of William, but his sister had a fat crush on the tall, lanky, annoying boy, and that was pretty funny.

Ricky: Are you ready for school yet?
Rickys_Bitch: Nope I just got up. Are u???
Ricky: Obviously, I got up at 5:30.
Rickys_Bitch: I don't know why u do that itz dum
Ricky: Your dumb.

Ricky had William saved as Rickys_Bitch in his phone because that’s what William was, Ricky’s bitch.
Ricky shut off his phone, flopped on his bed, and stared up at his ugly popcorn ceiling, William just couldn’t seem to understand that he needed at least a full hour in the morning to metally prepare himself for the school day ahead. The earlier Ricky woke up, the better.
Ricky grunted angrily as he heard his phone buzz.

Sighing, Ricky picked up his phone to see what the hell William wanted now.

“Ughh,” Ricky groaned loudly. He hated it when people called him cute. Sure, he was 5’4, had big green eyes with long lashes, dimples that showed when he smiled, and thick light-brown hair he never brushed, but that didn’t mean he was cute! Ricky believed himself to be quite muscular, though he was on the skinnier side, due to his frequent gym visits that allowed him to cope with his anger. Thus, he should be feared!
Actually, now that Ricky thought about it, being cute, though annoying, was kind of like having a super power. People weren’t expecting little Ricky Dagger to fuck them up. He was the furthest thing from cute, and they didn’t even know it. “HAHAHAHAHA!”
“RICKY SHUT UP I’M TRYING TO SLEEP!” Ricky heard Milly yell from down the hallway. Instead of ignoring her, Ricky yelled back “YOU SHOULD BE UP ALREADY DUMBASS!” Immediately regretting responding t0 Milly as he heard Angry Fat Man scream “HEY!” across the house.
“Shit,” Ricky muttered as he pushed his bathroom window open, throwing his black backpack out first before leaping out shortly after. He heard his father scream “where are you bastard?!” But it was too late, Ricky had already foiled his father!
Ricky snuck around his house, trying to make it to his dented Honda without feeling the wrath of Angry Fat Man.
Maybe if Ricky hadn’t been in such a rush he would have noticed two dark eyes peering from the branches of the tree that sat directly in front of his bedroom window.
You’ll be mine…
