My name is Roland Vanessa Arlen and I'm the guildmaster of the Irahl-mainguild in the capital. Irahl is a small country in the east of Carmala. There are 3 towns in total. The capital, the north-town and the east-town. Every town has its guild. Irahl isn't ruled by a king or something, it is ruled by the guild so you could say that I'm the ruler of this country. Every day I do my work as the guildmaster and ruler. There weren't any major problems. Until that day.
The Vice guildmaster Laurence suddenly rushed in my office. "Guildmaster! We have a big problem!" He looked very exhausted.
"Calm down Laurence. What happened?"
"A group of adventurers who went to the big forest in the west saw undeads inside of a cave in the mountains."
"Undeads aren't strong monsters. There shouldn't be a problem."
"Well, the adventurers said there were about 30 thousand of them. It seems like they're waiting for something."
30 thousand?! This country doesn't have an army to handle something like this. "That's a problem. We should ask the adventureres for help. Prepare a quest!"
"But we don't have the money to repay them. We could pay about 50 adventurers but I don't think this is enough."
"That's true. But I think we can exclude the low rank adventurers. Undeads are not smart monsters, there must be a strong one who leads them."
"I don't think that it works with the few high rank adventurers we have. I'll make it a quest for 3-star or higher. We can use the 3-star adventurers to fight the low rank undeads. If we do it like this we don't have to pay them much."
"Good, make the reward as low as possible. We can raise they're ranks as a reward if we don't have the money." He bowed and left the room. I leaned back and let out a big sigh. "What a trouble. First strange movements from the Rulers and now an army of undeads. What the hell is going on in this world right now?"
Eyf Granbell's P.O.V
It was late noon when we came back from our quest. We entered the gulid to get our reward and eat something together. Our leader Keith went to the reception, Jamil, Lucy and Feyrith sat down at a table and I took a look at the new quests.
"Hey guys take a look at that. There is a quest from the guild."
Jamil stood up to take a look. "You're right and the reward isn't that low."
"Let me see it too." Feyrith stood up aswell. "Hm, an undead army? Are they even smart enough to group up like that?"
Lucy joined the conversation. "If there is another strong monster to lead them it would be possible." She played with her hair. "But I has to be intelligent."
Feyrith: "And what monster could it be? Orcs Champions are to dumb. Maybe a goblin Lord?"
Jamil: Why would there be a 4-star monster in this area? The strongest monsters here are 3-star." jamil went back to the table and took seat next to Lucy.
Feyrith: "They are coming from the mountains, maybe there was one.
"Hey what are you guys talking about?" Keith finished his buisness at the reception and joined us.
Me: "We're talking about the new quest from the guild."
Keith: "From the guild? Lemme see." He looked at the new quest with a serious expression on his face. "Does the guild even have enough money to pay the adventurers? This country is small if it wents bankrupt..."
Me: "Yeah, it would become part of the Elgard Empire again."
Feyrith: "Please no. I hate the current emperor. This guy doesn't even care for his people, even I would be a better choice than him" For some reason he looked very proud while saying this.
Lucy: "Don't make me laugh, you would be a terrible emperor."
Jamil and Keith: "She's right"
Feyrith: "Aren't you guys a little rude?" We all laughed together. "Then what about this quest? Are we going to accept it, leader?"
Keith: "Let's accept it. Irahl would be destroyed if the strongest adventurer group wouldn't accept this quest! Our ranks get raised if there isn't enough money. I'm sure Irahl won't go bankrupt." Keith went to the reception again to accept the quest. Feyrith and I sat down as well. When Keith finished he came to the table and we all ate together.
Jamil: "You're very pround about us being the stongest ones here huh?" He talked with his mouth full of food.
Keith. "You should swallow your food before you talk." He took a sip of his beer. "Of course I'm proud! We are the strongest! The strongest! Doesn't this sound like music in you ears?"
Feyrith took a piece of the meat and put it on his plate. "The strongest with just 5 stars. That's lame."
Lucy took a bite from her bread. "Hey I'm a 6 star ok? Don't compare me with you Feyfey!"
Feyrith ckoked on his food: "Feyfey?! 6 star isn't that impressive!"
Me: "Well it's very hard to become a 7 star. To become a 7 stars you have to be some kind of hero." I cut my meat.
Jamil swallowed his food. "She's right Feyfey!" Everyone began to laugh. "But have you heared? The church got a prophecy. It says the undead king will return. Maybe it's him who leads the undead army?"
Lucy finished eating. "Ah I heared about that. I don't like the church maybe they're plotting something."
Keith: "Hey you can't say something like this! What if somebody hears you?"
Lucy: "But it's the truth. I don't believe that the undead king returns after so many centuries." We continued eating in silence.
