Seven years ago.
“That was a tiring day, right Sebastian?”
Sebastian is a 25-year-old graduating student in business management. He works while studying since his family can’t support him enough.
He works in different kinds of jobs while still in college. With his good looks that come in handy sometimes, he can finally support his everyday needs.
“Yeah. I guess I can just sleep once I get home,” he said, thinking despite how he wanted to sleep he can’t because he still needs to study too.
While he’s walking around the slightly deserted part of the city.
He suddenly froze when he smelled something sweet. And when he felt his body react, he already knew that it’s an omega pheromone.
But this one is so different from other omegas. It’s sweet, but it’s sweeter for him to feel the heat of whoever it is right now.
He’s an alpha. But when it comes to this part of him being one, he wanted to run away as to not do anything stupid.
He’s about to fight himself to run away when he suddenly hears something.
“HELP-!!!”
“PLEASE, HELP ME-!”
The cries for help caught his attention and decided to follow where that sound was.
Until he reached the dark part of the parking lot, and there he found two alphas who he thinks are from wealthy families based on their clothes.
He’s even more shocked seeing another guy who is almost naked and vulnerable on the ground.
Based on where the smell comes, that’s the omega. And there are already 2 alphas attacking him.
He doesn’t understand, but he somehow feels strange looking at the omega’s pleading blue eyes. Or maybe because it’s asking for help. But it’s really different.
Looking straight into his eyes is like looking directly at the sun.
Like he was reborn once again.
“Come on, sweet baby. We know you’re in heat. Let us help you,” said the other guy.
“No, don’t come any closer! Stop!” The omega continued to cry and felt helpless.
When they are about to touch him, “Hey!” Sebastian takes action, walking towards them while he wears a funny mask. An elephant design mask to be exact. (He used this mask on his part-time job at a kindergarten.)
“What is this guy doing? And he wears an elephant mask, what the heck?!” said the guy.
“Don’t meddle with this, it’s not your business. Aren’t you an alpha too? We can share this meal, you know?”
Sebastian suddenly felt rage after hearing that. The omega on the other hand fears more to his life now that three alphas are present.
Sebastian then removed his jacket as he walked past the two guys and towards the omega.
He’s clearly afraid and flinched a little when he’s standing in front of him.
Sebastian then puts the jacket on his almost naked body, and the omega is shocked by what he did.
“No one will lay a hand on him. Not on my watch.”
“Wow, a knight-in-shining-armor. What are you? Is he yours?”
“No one is owning anyone. He clearly doesn't like you guys. Better leave him be. He needs a hospital, so they can give him proper help.” Sebastian firmly said.
“Plus, I already contacted the police right after I heard his scream. They should be here anytime soon,” he added.
“Tsk!”
“Let’s go, we don’t need this stupid.”
The two guys walk away and obviously run away.
Sebastian sighed.
“Are you okay?” He looks at him.
“-I-i’m, I’m f-fine, I’m just scared,” he said while holding the jacket so it won’t fall easily.
“Don’t worry about them, they won’t come back. I’m sure. Can you stand?”
The omega tried to stand but because of how scared he was, he failed. Good thing Sebastian already held onto his waist.
As the two of them awkwardly stand and look at each other, the omega suddenly touches his mask and removes it.
“You, w-what are you doing? That’s dangerous,” Sebastian said.
“I just wanted to see the face of my savior.” the omega smiled at him.
He felt weird and he blushed like crazy while looking at that smile.
“Thank you so much for rescuing me. If you didn’t show up, I might be-”
“Don’t think about it. You’re okay. They can’t hurt you now.”
Sebastian helped him to the hospital. He got the suppression medicine to stop giving away his pheromone.
He finally removes the mask. “I’m sorry if I have to wear one of these.” he apologetically said.
“It’s okay, I understand. It’s a cute mask. Though I’m impressed that you can actually restrain yourself.” Said by the omega while trying not to laugh.
Sebastian knows he’s blushing, that’s why he looked away from him.
“Not that it was easy,” he mumbled.
He felt so shy when he thought about what happened. He was so sure his body reacted to what alpha was supposed to feel. And he’s embarrassed and nervous at the same time. Because that was the first.
“I’m Elijah, what’s your name?” he said as he also smiled at Sebastian.
“S-Sebastian,”
“Nice to meet you, Sebastian. By the way, can I have your mask? I really like it.”
“Uhm, s-sure?”
They both smiled at each other.
*End of flashback.*
Sebastian once again wakes up with the same dream for a month now.
“Tsk,” much to his likeness, he wanted to erase those memories from the past. But he still can’t help but think, how is Eli on the other side of the world?
And he knew he was still in love with him.
He is his lifemate. And he knows that he can’t alter that fact alone.
The next morning.
“Happy Birthday!!!”
“Wow, what the- so early in the morning,” Atalia is thrilled.
“Your niece insisted that we should go together to greet you,” Sebastian explained.
“Yes!!! It’s your birthday! Dada will cook delicious foods!” A-lee is dancing out of her joy.
“Right, right. Though my birthday isn’t something to celebrate,” she said.
“Atalia,” Sebastian can’t help but send a warning look on his sister, knowing A-lee is listening.
“O-oh! Right, I’m very happy. Yey, it’s my birthday!”
“I love you, aunt Ata!”
“And I love you too,” Atalia kisses her.
Sebastian and Atalia are eating some pasta and A-lee is eating a cake too while they are having a happy conversation.
“I’m glad you decided to stay here for good. I didn’t expect that you'd decide so soon.” Sebastian said while drinking his coffee.
“Nah, of course, I’ll still go back there when I’m needed. Meeting purposes. I can work from home, you know. And I wanted to help you regarding A-lee. You can go to work without worrying. So you gotta enroll her soon.”
Sebastian sighed.
“D-don’t you think it's still early?” he nervously asked her.
“Early? She’s almost seven years old, right? Actually, she’s late. She should be at the pre-school.” Atalia watched his brother’s reaction.
“I know that you gotta let your daughter out of your wings. But it’s for her to mingle with other human beings. Let’s not wait for her to have separation anxiety, Sebby.” Atalia said then started to eat the pasta.
“You’re right. Maybe I was so anxious to let her go alone. I’m just scared.” he once again sighed.
“That’s why I’m here. I’ll help you. Leave A-lee to me.” Atalia smiled confidently at him.
“Yeah, leave it to me too!” A-lee suddenly shouted too. She has been listening to them while they talk.
They all laugh at how she imitates her aunt.
“Thanks, sis,” he said.
“No problem,”
On the other hand, it was still crowded at the airport despite the holiday last week.
Lots of people come and go, they want to go out to this country and take the adventure somewhere.
But to Elijah, it’s another story he wanted to open.
A new life, a new chapter.
“Master Elijah, this way please.” A man in a formal suit bows a little and greets Elijah.
Elijah is sitting on the bench while reading a book.
He removes his eyeglasses.
“Welcome back, Master.”
He smiles, “I’m back, Kate.”
