Damian left the building and started making his way back to his dorm. Along the way he noticed more black smoke and students fighting with each other. He did his best to avoid them and minded his own business as he shut the door behind himself.
“Now to kill time for the next few hours.” He heard knocking from his wardrobe. “Forgot about that”, he muttered to himself. Damian started to back up, but a voice stopped him. “I’m running out of air!”, it cried in desperation. Damian quickly ran over and opened the wardrobe. He found the witch that he had encountered earlier sitting in his wardrobe with a row of clothes lined up on either side of her.
His eyes widened. “It wasn’t a dream”. She took a deep breath before speaking. “Y-You fool!”, she shouted trying to hide the fact that she was still shaken up from her experience. “Why did you abandon me?!”
Damian looked annoyed. “Most people that go towards the weird noise usually get killed, so can you blame me?!” The witch looked down at the ground with discomfort written on her face, “Kind of…”. She looked around the room and crossed her arms. “I shouldn’t even be here.”
Damian gestured to the room. “Well this is my room, but you’re welcome to spend the night”. He sat down on his bed and her expression softened. “Thanks”, said the witch. It’s nice to see you being cooperative considering we’ll be working together for the next month”. Damian gave her a confused look. “What do you mean?”.
“On October 31st a cataclysmic event…”, she began. Damian looked more confused. “What?”. The witch paused for a moment. “...Something really big and bad happened near the end of Halloween that led to the end of your world”. Damian once again responded with confusion.
The witch placed her hands in her lap. “No one knows what happened, but the end result broke the balance between the World of Legends and the World of Reality. Creatures from the World of Legends flooded into your world, the world of reality, and took it over. Lord Death went through great pains in order to lock away each and every creature that posed a threat to humanity in another world. There is a lot at stake here, so time is of the essence.”
She waited a minute for the information to sink in while Damian stared at her in silence. He rested his chin on his fist. “...Is this a prank?”. The witch gave him a confused look. “I’m being serious”.
Damian crossed his arms. “End of the world? World of Legends? What kind of drugs are you on?”. The witch jumped to her feet. “But It’s true!” Damian gave her a sarcastic look. “Okay cosplayer, prove it. You said that you’re a real witch so let’s see some magic.”
She furrowed her brows. “You saw me use it earlier!”. Damian shook his head. “Doesn’t count. That was in the dream”.
The witch suddenly looked very hesitant. “...Um...Yeah I can do that!”, she said, trying to sound confident. “I’ll show you what the great witch, Morgan Hekathrine can do!”
She clasped her hands together and made her crystal ball appear in her hands. Damian made a snarky comment about it being hidden in her sleeve, but she ignored him.
“A pumpkin and a magnifying glass”, she said to the crystal ball. It glowed purple then made the objects manifest in her hands. She placed the magnifying glass on the pumpkin.
She began to chant. “Catalyst for magic, symbol of my clan, become a window of spirits, so that I can prove power to this man”. The pumpkin and magnifying glass glowed orange and merged together. They created a glowing orange magnifying glass. She handed it to Damian and smiled. “See, I can do magic”.
Damian stared at it with a bored look. “You made something glow...Can’t you do anything cooler?”. Morgan gave him a hurt look while pulling her hat down to hide her eyes. “S-Sorry I disappointed you...I thought that you would find a tool that can see ghosts very helpful...” Damian started tossing it up and catching it.
“C-Careful....!”, shouted Morgan. She held the side of her arm and seemed a little embarrassed for shouting. “I-I worked hard to make that...”
Damian rolled his eyes and fumbled his last catch. He caught the magnifying glass in a way that had one of his hands under the glass. He looked through it and saw many black foggy cells moving all over it. “I see weird stuff.”
Morgan stood next to him and looked through it. Her hands began to shake a little. “Ok...Stay calm...um…Y-Your name...I realized that...”.
“Damian Desmond”, he interjected. She took a few steps away from him. “Stay calm Damian, but there may be a ghost possessing you.”
Damian gave her another sarcastic look. “Now I know you’re messing with me.” She gave him a desperate look. “Would you just take any of what I’m saying seriously?! Please!” Damian stood up and headed towards the door. “Where are you going?!”, she yelled after him.
Irritation spread across his face. “You’re starting to get on my nerves.” Damian made his way to the roof of the building and passed more people fighting each other while black smoke surrounded them. He stood on top of the roof and gazed out at the campus below. He realized something odd was happening as even more people were fighting each other left and right.
He let out a sigh. “What kind of crazy shit is that girl trying to get me involved in.” He heard footsteps approaching him. He turned around and saw Morgan with a glowing orange glove that had a nozzle attached to the palm of it.
She began to chant. “Thief of mortal bodies, bringer of eternal despair, depart from this vessel, and vanish into my care!” The nozzle released a powerful gust of wind that began pulling Damian towards her. “What the hell?!”, he shouted.
Black smoke came out of Damian’s body and went into the nozzle. An orange orb filled with black smoke appeared behind Morgan then vanished. She smiled. “You are now free.”
Damian fell to his knees and white mist began radiating out of his body. “Cold…”, he said, suddenly feeling overwhelmed by the sensation. It felt like all the blood had drained out of his body. “It’s so cold!” he cried.
Morgan frantically started examining her creation. “This wasn’t suppose to happen!”, she yelled. Damian’s body got smothered by the mist and Morgan began walking towards him.
“...Damian?”, she called while reaching out to him.
A black skeleton burst out of the fog and grabbed onto her arm. “I’m dying!”, cried Damian. Morgan let loose a horrified scream as she punched him in the face and knocked his head off. The skeleton body collapsed on the ground and the head landed on the grass below among the carnage.
