"That's all you can go now." The woman I was talking to bowed an left the room. I sat in an big round room. The wall was white and behind me was a huge window. This room was my office. I stood up and walked to the window. From there you could see the city. It was a bid city with many buildings and people. You were able to watch the people going to work, to school or other places. It was a beautiful sight. Every day when I finished my work I looked out the window. I was the king of this place. The king of the central state of Verena.
"Your highness." My secretary entered the room with a really concerned look on his face. "It seems like something is goinng on in the lower world."
"What about it? I don't care what happens in the lower world."
"Well, if we don't do something it might affect Verena." Affect Verena? "We noticed strange movements from the Rulers."
"What are they doing? We can't do something against them, so what is it that made you come and report this to me? They are always doing strange things. We shouldn't try to understand them." I took my cup and drank a bit of my coffee.
"Well if it were something like this I wouldn't have come. I happened yesterday, for a few seconds we sensed the presence of the Dragon."
"What?!" I spit my coffee out again and cought a few times. "What did you say? I just immagined that you said the presence of the dragon appeared. Silly me."
"No your highness, that's exactly what I said."
"Ahh... ok." Wait he really said that? Impossible. "Were did it happen?"
"We weren't able find out the exact location but it was in Carmala." Carmala? Is there something what gives the dragon a reason to return?
"Thank you for the report. You shall go now."
"As you wish." He bowed and left the room. I looked out of the window again.
"If this monster returns something terrible will happen. I have to protect this sight. I won't let you harm Verena again!"
Shio's P.O.V
It took us half a day to reach the forest but now we can finally enter it. "Master I can sense strong mana fcoming out od this forest, we should be carefull." We entered the forest and a strange mist appeared. "Master this mist is a magical barrier. It seems like someone don't wants us to leave."
"We should be cautious. Rey look at the back and you Hellen keep looking for strange mana." I slowly began to walk. "Hellen what do you think is it? What race is able to do something like this?"
"It is a very strong barrier. Looking at the mana it must be a highranked spirit."
"It's been a long time since someone entered this forest. What do you want her?" A strange voice echoed from evey direction. It sounded like the voice of a woman.
"Want to pass through this forest. We won't harm you!" I replied without thinking.
"Is that so? I can sense an ominuos mana coming from you. But at the same time I sense mana of the purest kind. It feels like the mana of a demon and of an angel. Well I won't judge you by your race. I'll invite you to talk to me in person." The mist enveloped our bodies. The dark forest slowly disappeared from our sight. The mist began to fade and we found ourself at some other location inside of the forest. It was a beautiful place with many flowers, big trees and the most diverse animals. In the middle of this was a tree bigger the all the others. The mana coming from the tree was so strong, even I could feel it.
"Where is this place?" It was the only thing I could think about. I wasn't even able to take my eyes of the glowing flowers around the tree.
"This is the center of this world. The tree in front of you keeps this world alive. It is the world tree Yggdrasil." Many little lights flew to the tree and gethered there. The lights became one and a beautiful woman appeared. She was almost naked, the only thing that covered her body were plants and moss. She looked like a dryad. "My name is Sylviette and I'm the one who takes care of this place."
"Are you perhabs the spirit queen? My mother often told me that the spirit queen is the one who keeps this world alive." Rey jumped of my shoulder and ran over to Sylviette.
"Yes I'm the one who you call the spirit queen." She lifted Rey up.
"Hellen do you know something about the spirit queen?"
"It is said that the spirit queen is as old as the world. As the first and oldest spirit she's the mother of all spirits. Because of her age and her immense magic power she counts as a god. Well that's not all. She's the only person who can enter this place. Even the other gods wouldn't be able to enter without problems."
"This sword. There's an angel inside right?" Sylviette came near to me. "And you, are you perhabs the undead king?"
"Yes that's right."
"I understand. The little fox and the angel did a contract with you." Wait when did I made a contract with Hellen? Did it happen when I pulled her out of the stone? You are different than the former undead kings. You don't act like a monster." I couldn't tell her that I'm from another world right? "Well the undead kings were always a bit special. That's why some people don't even count them as monster."
"Huh, what else could the undead king be?"
"Officialy he's a monster. A person goes out of their mind when they turn into an undead. But the undead king keeps a bit of his humanity. That's the reason why some people count the undead king as a spirit." I think I get it.
"Master something is coming."
"But I thought no one can enter this place."
Sylviette began to fly and flew over to the world tree. "That's troublesome." She came back "It looks like we're getting a difficult guest."
"A guest? But he can't enter so there shouldn' be a problem right?"
"That's right. But it's not impossible to enter this place. The angel already told you right? The gods can't enter without problems. But that doesn't mean they can't enter."
"So the guest is a god?" Rey jumped off Sylviette and came back to me.
"I wish that would be the case. Our guest is something as strong as the gods. A Ruler!"
