“So I’ll be gone for about 3 hours. You need to have all this done by the time I get back.” I said, grabbing my car keys. “Yes I know. Where is it that you're going again?” Riku asked. “I'm having my time. That's all you need to know.” I said walking back over to his desk. “Well, don't die.” He said, turning back to the papers in his hands. “Please.” You said taking the papers out of his hands and turning them around. “I'm not the one we need to be worrying about.” I said putting them back into his hand, right side up this time.
He laughed at his own stupidity and watched as I left his office. While I was gone he was supposed to finalize 3 business deals, review this month's financial statements, and hire a new driver. All the things that he was supposed to do were the things I normally do. We got into a little disagreement the day before when he made the foolish mistake of saying what I do “Can't be that hard.” I said “If it's so easy, you do it.” And now here we are.
3 hours should be plenty of time to finish up such miniscule tasks. In the meantime I would be doing what Riku does wa’ll im working. I had planned on going to get a manicure, followed by getting my hair done, being fitted for a new suit, and grabbing lunch before heading home. He truly is such a diva.
Riku’s P.O.V
This honestly can't be that hard. I thought to myself. All I have to do is finally these deals, look over the tax returns, and pick one of these drivers. I understand why she got so upset when I said her work can't be that hard. I admit that was a poor choice of words, but I refuse to prove her right. “I will get all this done before she gets back, and keep my nose up in the air.”
I picked a new driver first because it seemed to be the easiest. I went with the fourth option. He was a 23 year old, tall male. Seemed like he would be a good fit with the other guys. I had my assistants call him, notifying him he got the job. I also had her call all the others who were being considered and let them know they didn't get the job. “That One down and four to go.” I said to myself getting ready to tackle the next stack of papers.
I've got time, this will be a piece of cake. I thought to myself. I figured I had time to waste so I went down to the dining room for a small working snack. When I went back to my office I noticed that it had been 45 minutes. I only have about 15 minutes short of 2 hours, so I should get back to work. I then went on to review all the financial reports and sent them off to the accountant. It took awhile to find all the contact information but after that it was easy. I sent all the checks and signed all the formalities for the new staff to be paid. I realized that this was way more time consuming than I thought and that I only had about an hour to finalize these three agreements.
I assumed that I would be able to get it done before She retired. However that's when I realized that the financial reports had been sent to the wrong accountant. I assumed I would be able to fix this easily, but I can't find the updated contact information. “I'm back!” Damit. There she was in the doorway. “Welcome back.” How the hell do I get her to go away. “So how much do you have left over?” She asked, setting her bags down and walking over to my desk. “Well you see what had happened was-” “Save the bs, chive over I'll show you how it's done.” I obviously got up out of my chair feeling very defeated. She sat down in my chair and laughed at all the things left to do.
“You did this wrong babe.” She said staring into my soul like a demon of destruction. “You could have negotiated the deal's wall, signing off on all the financial stuff and sending it off, as far as the drivers go you just pick the one with the best background and have one of the other guys follow him around for a bit.” How in the world was she so independent. In a way I was set up for failure considering the fact that she has all this down to a science, but is still astounding. I stood there and watched as she talked on the phone while filing financial reports and picking a new driver.
Before I knew it 45 minutes had passed and she was done. She got up and said “Dont worry about it, this stuff isn't even for today. It’s for tomorrow so don't feel too bad about it.” “Why would you give me stuff for tomorrow?” I asked genuinely curious as she walked around my dest towards me. “Do you want the real answer or the fake one that won't emasculate you?” She asked, sounding very serious about me being emasculated. Little did she know I was emasculated at 16 when she choked me out during what was supposed to be a warm up sparring match. “I'm very secure manhood wise, give it to me straight.” I said immediately regretting it.
“Well honestly I finished all the stuff for today last night accidentally. Just got in the zone I guess and I knew you would either slack off, waste time, or just not be able to finish so I gave you stuff for tomorrow. I figured if you screwed it up I’d have plenty of time to fix it before its respective deadline.” “Wow, ok. Should have gone with the second option.” I said looking anywhere but her eyes. “I'm sorry, you are good at what you do. I couldn't let you think you were better than me at my job though. No hurt feelings?” She asked, grabbing my hand. “Yeah it's fine.” I said as we walked down to the dining room for dinner. I am so stealing her entire system. I thought, laughing to myself at my newly found favorite thing.
(Sorry for the short update but all future updates will be back on the regular schedule. Thank you for being patient and hope you enjoyed:)
