"Sir?" he asked noticing how I wasn't moving.
"It's you," I whispered mostly to myself but I'm sure he heard me and frowned his brows.
"That will be ten dollars sir," he said sighing bring me out of my trance.
"What's your name?" I asked my brain finally functioning.
"Excuse me?"
"Your name, what is it?" I smiled.
"Tristan, look I have other deliveries to get to could you please just hurry up." He all but pleaded, he looked tired and all I wanted was to pull him inside and take him to my room and hold him till he fell asleep. But I willed myself not to.
"Oh yeah, sorry." I said sheepishly and gave him a twenty dollar bill, "keep the change," I took the pizza from him.
He looked like he was about to say something when he looked at the money but just shrugged it off and told me good night and got on his scooter and drove off.
I walked back in the house smiling.
"Took you long enough," Tommo complained taking the food from me and stopped noticing the smile in my face, "what's got you so happy?"
"I just saw him," I said flopping on the couch.
"Who?" He stuffed his face and resumed the game.
"Tristan, the guy I just told you about, turns out he's working for the pizza shop we just ordered from"
"That's great man! Did you get his number?"
"Uh-"
"You forgot didn't you?" He rolled his eyes at me muttering typical under his breath which caused me to playfully shove him.
"Shut up ass hole, you wouldn't do a better job if you were in the same situation. Anyway, I'll just have to order again tomorrow, he looked so tired to night I just wanted to hold him."
"Ew, feelings." Tommo shuddered at the word causing me to roll my eyes.
The next day I ordered pizza the same time and sure enough he showed up.
"Hey Tristan," I smiled loving how his be rolled of my tongue.
"Hi, your delivery," he handed me the food and too the money, "thanks have a good night." He turned to leave but I called him and he turned towards me. I cleared my throat feeling kinda nervous.
"I was wondering i-if you could give me your n-number?"
"Why would I do that? I don't even know you."
I placed the food on the table by the door and stepped out getting closer to him.
"I know, but I," I pause trying to think of a way to tell him without sounding weird, "I think you're cool and would like to go out some time." There I said it.
He looked at me wide eyed and took a step back, he looked scared.
"Sorry but I-i can't," with that he turned and ran but I didn't miss the glossy eyes he had.
I hung my head in defeat.
__________
"So he just left?" Tommo asked on the passenger side of my car as I was taking him home the next day at night. We had spent the day at my place since I was still alone but I had to drop him home because his mum was calling him home.
"Yeah, but you should have seen him, he looked so broken and scared," I gripped my steering wheel tightly.
"Sorry man, but I bet there's something more there, maybe it has nothing to do with you asking him out."
I pulled up to his house and watched him get in. I pulled away and decided to drive around a bit, I didn't want to go home to that empty house just yet.
I drove around for a few minutes until I came by a park not to far from my house. As I was taking a the corner to start going back home something caught my eye. A figure sitting on the curb, my headlights shone on it and I couldn't believe my eyes. I got out of my car and got closer.
"Why are you out here so late Tristan?" I asked him finally looking up at me. He looked tired and just then I noticed the bag that was laying by his feet
"Go home Andrew." He said tiredly.
"You know my name?"
"Of course I do Mr popular, just go home okay?"
"If you're waiting for someone I'll wait with you." I said and sat beside him earning a snort from him.
"Look, I'm not waiting for anyone okay, just please go I don't want any more trouble than I already have." He said painfully looking the other way.
My heart ached, from his side profile he looked so tired and he visibly shook when the night wind blew. On instinct I took of my jacked and draped it over his shoulder and pulled him to my chest and wrapped my arms around him. He stiffened in my hold, ran my hand through his short curly hair and he relaxed in my arms.
"It's okay I'm here," I said softly meaning every word. With those words he started crying trying to get out of my hold but I held him tightly until he stopped fighting and just cried while I held him.
After a while his crying turned to sniffles then eventually he got quiet. I looked down at him and notice he was sleeping.
I kissed his head and curried him to my car not forgetting his things then I took him home. I curried him up to my room and put him in my bed taking of his shoes and he cuddle up to the pillows making me coo at his adorable antics. I pulled the covers over him and got on the couch in my room and let sleep take over.
I didn't sleep much though.
I woke up early and found Tristan still asleep so I decided to go make some breakfast.
I made my way to the kitchen and started preparing the ingredients when I heard him coming down stairs. He was walking sleepily rubbing the tiredness from his eyes and sat in one of the bar stools watching me.
"Good morning sleepy head." I teased.
"Why are you doing this Drew, I don't want your pity." He said bitterly. I turned and walked right in front of him.
"This is not out of pity. I like you I have liked you since the day I saw you in the library and something in me just wants to protect you Tristan, I don't know what you've been through but I don't care, I want to help, I want to make sure you're okay. You're all I think about all the damn time and I'd be damned to see a person I care about going through shit when I can help it."
"I refuse to believe that, since when does a popular guy like you notice the broke kid in school? I refuse to believe I'm that lucky."
"What do you mean?"
"Nothing forget about it," he said getting up but I grabbed his wrist and pushed him up the wall trapping him.
"Talk to me," I demand in a low town. He looked away and shook his head. I leaned in to his ear and repeated myself he visibly shook.
"I-I like y-you okay, there's no way you'd like me too." His voice cracked.
I grabbed his chin gently and made him look at me, his eyes were glossy.
"My father found out about me being gay and kicked me out, I got a job so I could save up for an apartment, I tried to go to my mum's but she has another family and she didn't want me to ruin things for her, no body wants me Drew not even my parents, so what makes you think I'd believe any word you say? My ex boyfriend used me and dumped me what makes you any different play boy?" By the time he was done he was full on sobbing.
I whipped his tears away and kissed his forehead.
"Tristan, I know I don't have the best reputation but trust me that I've never wanted to be with anyone as much as I want to be with you and if you give me a chance I will spend all my days proving it to you and doing my best to make you happy,"
He shook his head no.
"Please," I pleaded looking in his eyes.
I leaned in and brushed my lips on his making him shake in pleasure.
"Please," I said whispering.
He grabbed my shirt and pulled me close to him connecting our lips finally. His lips parted letting me slip my tongue in his warm mouth. Our mouths moved in perfect sink. His soft lips were sweet and made me want more. I snaked my arms around his waist and pulled his body flush on mine. We parted, both of us feeling breathless.
"I can't believe the Jock likes me."
End.
