Clair tries to catch the falling Hayes but she fades into nothingness right as she catches her.
“How boring…?” A girl voice come from the edge of the tower, a girl with green hair sat facing the other way and she was undoubtably also a maiden.
“She was boring till the end, how boring…”
Blink!
Clair disappears and reappears before the green haired girl but a wall of green threads came in her way as she swung her sword, “Why…!?”
The wings on her back became chaotic and as she tries to strike again but Clair fall unconscious soon after and drops onto the floor by the green haired girl, all while the domain itself began to decay away.
“Don’t worry, I won’t kill you since I’m certain you will bring me something even more unforgettable… See you soon, Little saint…”
She stayed sitting even as the tower fall apart and soon the domain was no more, they were sent back to the real world. Clair flopped onto the floor of the school and was soon found; she was brought to the school infirmary immediately.
The nurse found no issues with her, other that her being exhausted, so the teachers decide to send her home but knowing that her parent are always away, they call for Ellie Wright, her childhood friend and her neighbour. An announcement rang through the school calling for her and soon enough, the girl with blue eyes came.
“Lydia!” She goes over to Clair.
“What happen to her? Is she okay?”
And after a brief explanation by the nurse and with no more classes ahead, Wright piggybacks her and made her way home.
“…Ellie…”
Only steps away from Clair’s house, Wright turns to her, “Huh…!? You’re just sleep talking…” She opens Clair’s front door with her gift and heads for Clair’s room, placing her on her bed and changed her clothes.
“First was her disappearing and now she gone as well, what happen to you…? Don’t tell you’re also…” tugging her in, she placed her hands by her face.
“Tados, what do you think?”
A daemon appeared, it had a spherical whitest red body with a small head on top, stubby legs and arms.
“I don’t know.” A childlike voice came from the spherical daemon as it sat on top of Clair, “Since she is a bright light.” Placing its stubby arms over its yawning mouth as Wright, out of a sudden, grabbed it and proceed to squished its round body.
“What are you doing!? Let me go!” It tried to free itself while Wright furiously shook it.
“What do you think you are doing, Tados!?” She tries to keep her voice down as she continues to squish and shake its round body.
Tados repeatedly pats its stubby hands over Wright’s, “Let me go, you demon.” The round daemon was thrown onto the table and rolled off. While Wright takes out the cookies she had made for Clair, out of her bag and placed them onto the table.
“Time to head back, Tados.” She paced her way to the door while the round daemon, “Yes. Yes, let’s head back but before that…” Extending its stubby arms and reached out for the cookies. Wright grabs onto the extended arms and drags the round daemon out of the room.
They left Clair’s house and return back home; the round daemon wasn’t given any dinner that night and as time passed.
Clair wakes up just pass midnight, “Nyxi…?” she sits back up as the white dragon appears before her and sat in front of her.
“You should rest more, Clair.”
The white dragon lies down while she slowly shuffled her way to Nyxi, “That person… Nina Hayes, she was killed by another maiden… Why…?”
“To gather prayer…”
“Crown game…” she muttered and looks down while the white dragon stood back up and floats to her, “So, will she become like the other person that died… Will she just be forgotten…?”
“Sadly, that is the fate of everyone that dies in the domain, they will be forgotten but that doesn’t apply to the maidens. They won’t forget.”
Clair starts to shed tears and mourns for those who have forgotten them, “I couldn’t do anything– Not even for them…” She remembers those red hands and the souls that tied to them, “No, you have… You have given all that you could and probably even more than they could have ever hope for…” The small white dragon expanded its wings and places its tail by her face, wiping her tears.
“So, if you wish to shed your tears then shed them… I will always be here…” Clair laid over the white dragon that had grown in size, almost as large as her bed. It lies by her, curling its tail around her, “I’ll stay by you until you fall asleep.”
