Jay’s pov
Tick tock tick tock tick tock the clock went. I can’t sleep because I caught a glimpse of her yesterday at school, she didn’t see me but she’s all I can think about. She’s the most beautiful girl I’ve ever seen. She’s tall, slim with long wavy brown hair, blue/brown eyes and fair skin. She looks kind of like a porcelain doll but that’s not why I want her. I want her romantically, she’s just my type. Although, I’ve never been in a relationship before. I can’t wait to see her again. I’ve never seen her before yesterday, I think she’s a new student. I guess I’ll find out once I talk to her, if I ever talk her. I’m not a shy person but I don’t want to mess up a chance with her if she’s single, I hope she is but I doubt a girl as hot as her is single.
The clock alarm finally took my thoughts away from her, I should get ready for school which I can’t stand. I can’t wait to leave this year even though I get good grades and could get into university if I wanted to but I have no intention of going into further education. I don’t think it’s the route for me.
I had a shower and changed into my school uniform which was a white shirt, black trousers and maroon tie with an optional maroon jumper with the school logo on which I never purchased as it looked terrible. I grabbed my black jacket and car keys before leaving the house to get in my car. I was glad to get my driving license and be able to legally drive at 17.
When I arrived at school, I parked in my usual spot at the back of the parking area. When the other students noticed me, they kept their heads down. I had a reputation, everyone was scared of me except my gang of mates. No one dared to mess with me, I’ve always been unbeaten in a fight, I always win. I remember always being stronger than other boys my age with no idea why that was and I never questioned anyone about it but I should have.
I got in the hallway and caught up with my mates. They started yapping about some garbage I wasn’t interested in. All I wanted was to see that gorgeous girl again and then I did. She was with her friends, they were talking and laughing, Her laugh is so cute, like music to my ears. I’ve got to talk to her asap or I’ll go mad but how the hell am I going to do that when she’s always surrounded by her friends? I need to get her own but the question is how?
The bell rang for first lesson so I made my way to it. The lesson was English and such a drag like always. I still haven’t managed to get her alone. I give up. I’ll try again tomorrow.
I was walking to my next lesson when someone bumped into me.
“Hey watch where you’re going,” I grumbled without thinking before I looked at the person and was surprised to see it was her, the beautiful doll. Oh crap! I was mean to her.
“Sorry, I wasn’t looking where I was going,” she said apologetically.
“It’s cool,” I said and she was about to walk away but I didn’t let her. She’s on her own, this could be my only chance to talk to her.
“I’m Jay,” I said and put my hand out to her and she took it to shake. I instantly felt tingles where her hand was.
“Uh I’m Amber,” she replied.
“Nice to meet you Amber,” I smiled.
“Nice to meet you too Jay,” Amber returned my smile.
“You’re new here aren’t you?” I asked with a knowing look. Amber has to be a new student otherwise I would have noticed her before because she’s not the type of girl you’d miss, she’s too beautiful.
“Yeah this is my first week here,” Amber confirmed.
“What do you think so far?” I asked curiously.
“It’s better than my last school and everyone’s is so nice here,” Amber told me and by then everyone was looking at us listening in. I guess they are in shock because I never usually talk to anyone but my mates and everyone’s looking at Amber because she doesn’t know that no one is supposed to talk to me.
Amber seemed to notice everyone staring at us. “Why is everyone looking?” she asked but I couldn’t reply because just then, the bell rang for the next lesson.
“How about we meet up after school and I’ll tell you?” I suggested with a hopeful look.
“Um..............,” Amber hesitated. “Ok, where do you want to meet?”
“I’ll come find you,”
“Ok,” Amber said.
“I’ll seeya later then,”
“Later,” Amber’s voice trailed off as she walked away and took my breath away in the process. I can’t believe I’m meeting up with her later.
I got into my next lesson which was maths. The time was going even slower then because I was too excited to meet up with Amber.
When the bell finally rang to go home at the end of the school day, I ran out of the class and began to look for Amber. When I saw her, I put my hands on her waist. I felt the tingles again which Amber was surprised by and so was I. I had no idea why we were feeling tingles but I took her hand and led her away.
We soon made it to the boys changing rooms, it was empty so we went in.
We just stood there for a while just staring into each others eyes until Amber spoke. “So?” she asked.
“So?” I repeated Amber’s words.
“Why was everyone staring at us before?”
“Because no one talks to me except my mates,” I explained.
“Why?” Amber asked curiously.
“Everyone’s scared of me,” I stated.
“Why? What have you done?”
“Nothing,” I said and Amber raised her eyebrow at me. It was like she was saying ‘oh really?’ I sighed. “Ok, I warned them not to approach me or even bother looking in my direction or else,”
“What’s so scary about that?” Amber questioned.
“Are you saying you’re not scared of me?” I asked in surprise. Everyone was scared of me, surely Amber should have been too.
“Yeah,” Amber replied.
“Why?”
“I’m just not,”
“That good because you’ll be seeing a lot more of me,” I said.
“Will I?” Amber asked as she raised an eyebrow again.
“Oh yes,”
“Why?”
“Because I said so,” I said.
We looked at each other again before I spoke.
“We better get outta here, it’s getting late,” I said and we walked out of the school together.
“Well I guess I’ll seeya-” Amber said.
“No. I mean let me give you a lift,” I stopped her.
“Ok,” Amber said and told me her address before we walked to my car and got in.
“Nice car,” Amber complimented.
“Thanks,” I smiled. I was proud of my car, it meant a lot to me but it didn’t compare to Amber. She means everything to me.
“Thanks for the lift Jay,” Amber thanked me once we parked outside her house.
“Any time,” I replied.
Amber was about to get out of my car but I took her hand to stop her and loved every second of the tingly feeling.
“Amber” I said softly.
" Jay,” she said copying my tone of voice. Wow! My name sounds good coming out of her mouth,
“It’s my birthday tomorrow and I’m having a party, will you come?” I asked nervously.
“Um sure when?” Amber surprised me. I thought she’d say no because we just met but the attraction between us is mutual. I hope.
“At 5,” I said.
“Where do you live?”
“Fortunately I live around the corner, at number 110,” I answered Amber’s question.
“Ok I’ll see you then,”
“Bye,” I said.
“Bye,” Amber replied and turned to leave but I didn’t let go of her hand. I pulled her closer to me and kissed her cheek which sent sparks throughout my body. Amber blushed and let go of her hand before she left. I feel empty for a reason I don’t know why.
I headed back home, I live alone now since my great Aunt died a few months ago, I have no other family that I know of. I never knew my parents as they died after I was born. The rest of my family disappeared after that. I have no idea what happened to them or where they went or if they are still alive and I don’t care.
My great Aunt started acting weird begore she died she would look at me like she was waiting for something to happen and she never told me what.
I don’t need a family, I have Amber. I will make her mine and will never need anyone else.
