A few days later
I’m very happy to now be engaged to such a beautiful woman, I know I will live a very happy life with Sienna. She’s perfect. I don’t know anything about her yet but I am looking forward to getting to know her. She must be amazing. However, something doesn’t feel right.
A few days ago when I met Sienna for the first time, something was up. She seemed surprised when her Dad told her about our engagement. I don’t know why because he assured us Sienna had agreed to the marriage. Maybe the wedding is too soon for her. I want her to be happy. We can push the date further away if it will make her comfortable. I really don’t know what is going on but something is. I must find out what that is.
I decided to pay Sienna a visit to make sure we were both on the same page hence the reason why I was standing outside her door debating whether it was the right thing to do or not. I eventually thought it was and rang the doorbell.
It wasn’t long before Sienna opened the door. She looks even more beautiful than I remember. Her hair was up in a messy bun. She was wearing a jumper and shorts. Her feet were bare. So simple yet so gorgeous.
“Jack?” Sienna asked in surprise. “What are you doing here?”
“I-” I began to reply but Sienna cut me off.
“Are you here to see my Dad? He just left for work,”
That’s a relief. I was hoping to see Sienna on her own so it’s perfect her Dad isn’t here.
“Actually I am here to see you,” I said and I saw Sienna’s eyebrow go up in confusion. I don’t blame her being confused, we weren’t supposed to see each other again until our wedding day which Dad has already booked for in 2 weeks time.
“Really? Why?”
“I just wanted to make sure everything was alright. I wanted to see if you were ok with us getting married because when I came over with my Dad a few days ago, I was under the impression you weren’t happy about something,”
“I am happy, everything is fine,” Sienna told me confidently.
“Are you sure?” I asked to make sure.
“Of course,”
“So you are ok with us getting married?”
“Yes,” Sienna replied. “We wouldn’t be engaged otherwise,”
That’s a relief. I thought she was going to tell me I was right. There was something wrong and she didn’t really want to marry me.
“Would you like to come in for a drink?” Sienna asked and immediately said yes. I sat on the couch in the living room while Sienna went to get the drinks.
She returned a few minutes later and handed me a drink before she took a seat beside me with her drink.
“Is it your day off work?” Sienna asked casually as I took a sip of my drink.
“Yes, you?”
“No I’m currently unemployed,” Sienna commented. She didn’t look too happy about the fact so I decided I wouldn’t ask more about it.
“Got any interesting plans for the rest of the day?” Sienna easily changed the subject.
“Not really,” I shrugged.
We continued making small talk for a couple of minutes.
“Are you sure everything’s ok? You’re not having cold feet about getting married are you?” I asked as I placed my empty glass on the table in front of us.
“Like I told you before, everything is fine,”
“If you’re sure,”
“I am,”
“Ok then,” I stood up to leave. “I’ll see you at the alter,”
