The twelve continued on past the tree where the mysterious woman had been. If nothing else, they now had a new mystery to face.
It wasn’t long before they came across a courtyard where another was waiting.
“Excuse me?” Malakai called, signaling for the others to wait.
“Greetings.” The other said in return. “Are you adventurers?”
“Aye.”
“Ah! A pleasure. Welcome to the Cities of Dawn.”
“Thank you.”
Any tension the woman had rolled off her shoulders, dropping into a slouch. “Yay the technicalities are over. I’m Uri by the way.”
“You may call me –” Malakai paused, looking Uri up and down before smiling. “You’ll have to forgive me; we don’t all have Celeste granted names.”
Uri laughed, returning the smile. “That’s fine, I wouldn’t want to bind myself to me either. If one of your Celeste friends want to do it, they’ll have a greater hold of your name than I.”
“It’s been a while since we’ve met a Celeste who’s honest about the rules.” Adalira said in surprise before introducing the group.
“Normal is far beyond overrated – you’ll have to keep a look out for Aure though, he’ll twist his words until you’re bound in knots. I have lunch to share, if you’re interested.”
“Why not?” Malakai said, sitting beside her. “I’m curious, how long have you been in the Cities of Dawn?”
