Nonetheless though, as I turned to walk off, going back downstairs before I went to a door underneath the staircase. I had opened my bedroom door to the fresh smell of rainwater and lavender. A large king-sized bed in the center of the room as it was pressed against the beige walls while the covers were the color of a raven's feather before pillows with fake fur were strewn across the bed.
Yet, as I began to put my clothes away in a drawer next to my desk, a laptop was placed right on top of the desk while a black guitar case sat underneath a window. I jumped a little at the sound of furious tapping at my window.
I rolled my eyes as I proceeded to walk past the window and to my bathroom to clean myself up. ‘Damn it, Fidel, you'll break my window at this rate...’ I thought.
Immediately I was greeted by a large mirror as soon as I flipped on the lights, I couldn’t help but flinch. I had only taken a short nap and I still managed to look like I hadn't showered in days!
Dirt-covered clothes along with some smudges here and there on my face whilst my hair was all over the place.
Some brushing would it good.
Yet, as I licked my thumb and cleaned off the dirt, pulling and tugging at the leaf afterward until it finally came out before I began to debate on what I should wear in replacement of my current clothes.
I had let out a groan as I walked back into my room and towards the dresser.
Although I tried my best to keep him somewhat wild by letting him hunt for his own food and sleeping outside unless there was bad weather, even then?
He still managed to bury himself into my heart and sung his heart into making me think of him more as a companion rather than just another pet.
I loved him, no matter how many times he’d sing until I was partially deaf.
“You really should stop tapping at the window Fidel, you’ll break your beak. Didn’t you know that’s a thing?” I scoffed, giving him a light scratch on the head before he shook his body and began pecking at the window sill.
I rolled my eyes.
“Don’t come crying when you break something,” I grumbled.
“But where have you been? You know there’s a cult out there Fidel? What if they suddenly get a taste for tiny birds who have no concept of being quiet?” I snickered, Fidel quickly pecking at my arm before he turned his entire body towards the forest beyond the golden grass fields.
My eyes narrowed as I lightly rubbed my arm, I understood Fidel could fly, personally? I considered him to be the best at flying out all the birds in the world! He was agile and quick, knowing when to stop immediately or how to somehow pick up the pace when need be! However, that didn’t mean I wanted him to take chances.
I began to pat him lightly on the back. “I’ll feed you from now alright? Heck, I'll even give you fried rice and sunflower seeds.” I chuckled a sudden encore of happy chirps making my smile widen even more.
Until we were in a safer home, there was no need to risk going outside...it was better to stay right here and watch how things turned out until we were finally away from this place.
