"Finally our long awaited break has arrived." Haruto chirped through the phone while Nagomi just "hmmed" to show his agreement.
"You don't have any plans right? Want to hang out?" With a glint of nervousness in his voice, Haruto inquired.
"What made you think that, I don't have any plans?"
"Because you don't have friends."
"Hey that's rude!" Nagomi huffed at his response.
"Ha-ha, I am just joking. But you are still going out with me right? Will pick you up at 1 so get ready."
"Hey! I still haven't- *toot-toot* and the phone got cut off.
Nagomi just shook his head into defeat.
"What a manager , I've got."
Just like Haruto said, he exactly came to pick Nagomi at 1. They both got in the car and Haruto started driving. Looking how fidgety and excited Haruto was, Nagomi couldn't hold back but inquire.
"So where are we going?" Nagomi asked, checking his phone.
"First we will see the movie and go to the arcade and then will go to watch the sunset by the sea." Haruto answered as soon as Nagomi asked. Almost felt like he was expecting the question.
"Whoa you got the whole thing planned. Is this a date or something?" Nagomi teased, making Haruto's face; turn into a deep shade of red.
Seeing that a feeling creeped inside, a feeling of hotness surged inside Nagomi.
'Even with the winter knocking at the door, it still feels hot.'
Nagomi inaudibly mumbled under his breath.
The whole ride was silent as it was awkward after what Nagomi had blurted out and both of them were embarrassed.

"The movie was good." Haruto tried to initiate the conversation.
"Yes. The actors did pretty well. But the director did the best job." Nagomi added to show his agreement with Haruto.
"So next will be the arcade. Wait to be impressed by my skills." Haruto proudly announced.
"Yeah sure. Mr. Show-off." Nagomi rolled his eyes.
"Yah! Nooo."
"Hey, that's my target."
"How are you doing this?"
"Why are you good at every game when I should be the one to impress you?" Haruto whined every time he lost in a game to Nagomi and when I say he lost it means he lost in every game they played.
Haruto gave Nagomi weird suspicious looks, in response Nagomi raised one of his eyebrows demanding a "What?"
"Do you secretly come here and are not telling me?"
"No. It's just- I used to come here during high school." Nagomi slurped his boba.
"Sato-san during high school. Aaa, now I want feel jealous of your classmates, who could see you in uniform." He closed his eyes, his palms on his face, looking like he was frustrated and embarrassed at the same time.
"I wasn't a remarkable student."
Nagomi let out a dry chuckle.
"Now I am curious. How you wer-
"Look, we are here!" Nagomi announced, not letting the latter to finish his sentence.
Haruto averted his gaze from Nagomi to the sea, like a huge blue carpet, it had spread as far as one eyes could follow, the orange hues to setting sun soon tinted it's previous colour as the time passed by.
"Let's go in the water." Haruto pulled Nagomi without giving him a chance to retort back.
"It's really beautiful and calming, the sea and the sunset I mean."
Haruto embarrassingly scratched his head. Nagomi just nodded his head while staring at the horizon.
It was indeed beautiful and calming.
"This scene hits different when you are with the person you love huh?" Haruto intertwined his hands with Nagomi while Nagomi stared at their hands, confused and stared back at Haruto.
"Sato-san." Haruto brought their intertwined hands closer to him and grabbed it with his other hand.
"I know this is sudden but I really like you."
"What are you going on about?" Nagomi tried to free his hand but Haruto only held it tighter.
"Please, hear me out till the end."
Nagomi gave non-verbal consent as Haruto relived a sigh, staring at Nagomi's dark brown eyes with his own hazel one.
"I might not be the most dependable person you know and I am childish so promising to always keep you happy is not something, I can afford I promise you'll never have to suffer alone. I can't promise you won't cry when you're with me but I will wipe your tears and stay until they run dry.
I can't promise you the world and I don't have anything to offer. But I am confident in my love for you."
He sub consciously squeezed the hand tightly which obviously didn't go unnoticed by Nagomi.
Nagomi was in internal conflict with himself. More like his past and present self but he couldn't deny the fact that he felt something towards Haruto. He looked at Haruto to give him his answer.
"I am scared to fall in love."
Nagomi couldn't bring himself to look at Haruto.
"Sato-san, I will never let you down. You don't have to give me your answer right now but please give it a thought."
The desperation and sincerity in his voice was what made Nagomi give in.
He slowly reached his free hand and cupped Haruto's cheeks, giving him a faint smile.
"I have my share of bad moments which haven't let me move on, and I regret for being such a coward. But I think I can trust the warmth I feel when I look into your eyes, so I am willing to risk it. I will give it a thought. So please wait for my answer." After he let those words come out, he could finally feel, Haruto breathing again. The tears rolled down his face while he hugged Nagomi.
"Were you nervous? I am sorry I couldn't even give you a proper answer." Nagomi hugged him back while patting the back of Haruto's head.
"Of course I was. You are the first person to make me feel this way. And about your answer, I will wait until you fall for me." Haruto said, touching his forehead with Nagomi's.
'It really was a beautiful scene.'
