Part 3:
With the orders from my mom, I enter my bedroom, which is still in the state of chaos from when I last left it: Books on the floor, Sticky notes pinned on the wall which may or may not cover the meteor, Bedsheets somehow inside out and my Laptop left lopsided and leaning on my wall… that is not how I remember my room, then again, I was up ‘till 4am last night so I probably passed out as soon as I hit the bunker and forgot about everything… It’s nothing new.
Too occupied to do my homework and too tired to do anything else at all, I perch myself on the window ledge and just observe the city of Brooklyn from above. The noise of the commute is boisterous with the traffic fighting each other with their car horns as usual. I came here looking for peace and quiet but this is Brooklyn after all, what did I expect? Relaxation is impossible if you’re living on the seventh floor with only being a few feet away from traffic, it’s horrible…
But, in the end, this is my home, it may be big and boisterous but I was born and raised here, alongside the noise. Maybe that’s why I’m so paranoid all the time. But if anything happens to it, I will do my best to protect it… even if I am powerless and outmatched.
…
God, I sound like your typical edgy hero figure, I hate it.
Before I can indulge myself into more of my fantasies, my door suddenly opens up.
“Honey, the kitchen’s all okay now so if you want to eat, your food’s on the table.” My mom says.
“Okay, thanks mom.” I simply reply, still looking out the window.
The door closes afterward.
There is just one more thing I wanna do before I go eat however, those V-Units. Without a second to waste, I dismount the window ledge and walk up to my lopsided laptop, which was still on sleep mode. It seems I forgot to turn it off also. I open it up and proceed to create a new tab. From there, I look up more topics relating to the V-Units and this Professor Vorutuno guy.
After a few clicks and searches, I’ve managed to gather some new info on the subject, it’s not much but progress is progress I suppose. First, Professor Vorutuno, a thirty-two year old man with a glorious moustache and swirly ice-cream hair that are both coloured grey. In all the images he’s in, he seems to always wear the same white labcoat with black accents and pockets with his crazy goggles either placed on his forehead or on his eyes. The reason his hair is grey at such a young age is because of an experiment gone wrong… maybe something to do with hair dye? I dunno… I could look into it further but I can sense my food going cold so I better hurry this up. The man is known for building prototype weapons for the army, yet- he doesn’t even have his own brand and none of his prototype weapons were even accepted from the army… the sudden jump from futuristic weaponry to mechanised and almost sentient soldier robots seems way too fishy… Oh well, that’s enough of him for now.
Next are the V-Units themselves, I already know what the grunts look like but there are elites and generals too, both built tougher and more intimidating to the innocent’s eye. The elites and generals both don the samurai helmet like the grunts with theirs only being made with a better metal and sharper design if you get what I mean. Not only that but the elites and generals also don a cloak over their respective shoulders, Elites have theirs on their right and generals on their left, reminds me of two certain twins… There are more designs coming out soon but it seems the sources I used don’t have the exact information yet… Oh well, I guess I got what I searched for.
I still don’t have a definitive reason on why I’m so invested in the V-Units, even more so than the meteors. Maybe… maybe if the V-Units do come into fruition and replace most of the army…
Perhaps dad would finally come back
For good…
