The school garden was a magnificent place; it had rare plants in full bloom, flowers to envy even the most beautiful gardens, and trees placed in places so precise that plants who prefer the shade can grow right beside their sun-loving counterparts. There were lanterns scattered throughout, and a station to get your own if it was too dark where you were headed. Cohen grabbed a lantern, as he had a slight fear of the dark. He had also changed out of his stiff, starched school uniform into a light pirate-style blouse, navy blue pants that were so wide many people mistook them for a skirt, and a black floor-length cloak with gold embroidery depicting the stars, gold trim and an emerald fastener. Their accessories were what really stole the show. Cohen had put in earrings that resembled a bird cage with a bird inside made of gold, a silver circlet with flowers carved from precious stones adorned their hair alongside many real flowers, hanging from their neck was a carefully placed shoulder necklace with pearls, amber teardrops, and heart-shaped diamonds. Combined with the lamplight, Cohen was a sight to behold. The gems on their accessories caught the lamplight and reflected miniature rainbows on any surface they were near. Lupin arrived not soon after, in a slightly more casual outfit, and the two set off.
“You look so much more relaxed now,” Lupin noticed some of the flowers in Cohen’s hair, “oh, those are lupin flowers, my parents named me after them. Did you know that lupin flower beans were used as a protein substitute by North and South American Aborginal tribes?”
