Chapter 7: Reconnecting

Nicholas didn’t say a word he just sat there staring at Maria, like a mother scanning her child for injuries. Then he cleared his throat and said

“W-what happened? Why did you faint?”- he asked, trying to brush off the fact that he stuttered. 

“Oh this, this is normal. This usually happens twice a month. I don’t know why but it does.” 

Nicholas then had an idea. “ Does it happen when there is a full moon?-

“Y-” before Maria could answer the door slammed open. A pantheon of nurses, doctors and Emris rushed in. The nurses and doctors all checking in on their Luna. 

“Mimi I was so worried for you what happened?!” She asked in a frenzy as she hugged her best friend.

“I missed you too but my ribs just healed Em” Maria managed to gasp out as Emris was squeezing her with a bear hug. 

“Oops my bad” she said as she nervously chuckles and Nicholas is glaring deep into her soul but stops when he feels a soft hand touch his knee. “Hey pup, I’m going to eat ok”  Nicholas nods in response

 “Just, be careful ok”

“Got it crybaby”

“HEYYY!”

Maria and Emris were laughing hysterically while running away from a mad Adam while taunting him on the way. 

Almost to the kitchen Maria ran into someone.

“And who might you be?”-
