"So, is he your boyfriend or something?" Frankie asked seeing Cameron tuck himself under Taylor's jacket nearly disappearing in the mass of it. It was a thick winter jacket, so it was easy to hide Cameron's smaller frame. Taylor adjusted herself before resting her arm around Cameron under the jacket. "Something like that." She responded easily, "Angel and I aren't really worried about labels." Taylor spoke in her usual relaxed tone. A soft rumbling noise came from inside the jacket. Cameron was purring earning eye rolls from the rest of the table.

"They're practically married." Chris informed Frankie, "They've been like this since we were kids." Megan added. "I've only known them for a couple of years, and they've always been like this," Lola spoke up, Bryan nodded while chewing on his food. "That's kind of weird." Frankie blurted out dumbly. Taylor shrugged, "You're just jealous you don't have a little space heater under your jacket, and I do." She remarked casually. The purring became louder at this point, Taylor laughed and looked inside her jacket. "How are you doing doll face?" She asked looking inside at Cameron who looked content. "I'm good." Cameron's small voice was heard muffled from inside the jacket.

"Taylor." A teacher spoke up walking over, "Is Cameron in your jacket again?" He asked exasperated. "Yeah," Taylor replied honestly. "He's not doing anything." She added, the teacher sighed. "I know but we can't have you two doing that. Everyone will start doing that and they'll get carried away." The teacher explained, Taylor chuckled in response. "Hey if you can get him out of there, you're welcome to try." She said motioning to the jacket. The male teacher looked to the lump under the jacket and started to reach but a growl came from Cameron. He jerked his hand back. "I'll just let it slide for now." The man said with a pale face, Taylor laughed. "Yeah." She agreed, "Make sure this doesn't happen again!" The teacher stressed, "Sure. Sure." Taylor waved him off.

When the teacher left the kids looked at each other and laughed. Frankie was the only one at the table unamused by the situation. Taylor side-eyed him but said nothing. When lunch ended, she gently shook Cameron awake who had fallen asleep inside the jacket. "Camie. Lunch is over." She said softly, Cameron grumbled but removed himself from the jacket looking irritated. "Still sleepy?" Taylor asked Cameron nodded yawning. Taylor grabbed his tray and took it up leaving Cameron alone at the table with Frankie and the others.

As the others started to take their trays up, Frankie lingered and looked at Cameron. "Don't you think you two spend too much time together?" He asked, Cameron, lifted his head up from the table and glared at him. "Don't you think it isn't a good idea to start trouble in someone else's friend group?" He asked stifling Frankie. "That's not..." Frankie trailed off. "Bryan was nice enough to invite you to our table and you've done nothing but be rude to me and Taylor." Cameron remarked, "if you think we're weird or gross you're more than welcome to fuck off." Cameron spat.

"Whoa." Taylor's relaxed voice spoke up from behind Cameron. "You are not in a good mood today, are you?" She asked smoothing out Cameron's hair. Cameron looked back at her and then at Frankie. "I get tired of people talking about us. It's none of their business." Cameron huffed frustrated. "I just don't think it's healthy." Frankie tried to defend himself, "Thanks for the concern doc." Taylor remarked sarcastically. She then moved from Cameron and slowly walked over towards Frankie.

Taylor, despite being female and Frankie being male. Stood tall over the male alpha. "Look man if this is some weird power play bullshit cut it already. I'm not interested in playing dominance games to prove 'who's the real alpha'." Taylor spoke in a friendly tone. "I've got nothing to prove and I'm just trying to get through so I can graduate. So just leave us alone, right?" She said patting Frankie on the shoulder. It was a firm friendly pat but there was a certain unspoken threat behind Taylor's words. It was a simple threat, 'don't push it.'

Frankie went mum and glanced over at Cameron who sneered at him as if he was disgusting. "Fine." He said after a moment with a sigh. "Great. We're all good now." Taylor said with a lazy grin. She then turned to walk away only to have Frankie rear back and punch her in the face suddenly. "What the hell!" Chris shouted as Frankie punched Taylor. He pulled his hand back shaking it and Taylor slowly turned her head with a sigh. "Taylor are you okay?" Cameron asked rushing over to her, Taylor held out an arm. "It's fine." She said taking a deep breath, Taylor wiped some blood that was dripping from her lip. Frankie sneered looking smug.

"I don't know what the hell your issue is." Taylor said calmly, "But I hope you got a good shot in." She told him; Frankie grinned "Yeah I did." He said looking proud of himself. He glanced over at Cameron to see his reaction. But Cameron looked like he was boiling with rage. "Good." Taylor said, "Cause it's going to take you a minute to get back up." Taylor took off her jacket. "What?" Frankie asked just before being hit in the face and sent flying across the room. He hit the wall and was out. He slumped over onto the floor like a rag doll.

"Is he dead?" A student asked startled, the lunchroom stared at Taylor like she was a monster. "Nah. He's just sleeping." She said just as some teachers ran up. "Taylor!" A teacher yelled at her, "Yeah. Yeah. Principal's office, suspension, the works." Taylor said holding her hands up and walking off towards the office. Cameron glanced over at Frankie who was already stirring awake and turned to the teachers. "He hit Taylor first." He announced before grabbing Taylor's jacket and running after her.

The incident spread like wildfire throughout the school and everyone who saw it was questioned by the teachers. Everyone at the table vouched for Taylor saying that Frankie was trying to start something with Taylor the entire lunch period. People who saw said that Frankie hit first after being told by Taylor to calm down. The investigation was straightforward because of that. But unfortunately, on the social side of things. Everything got twisted quickly and everyone started spreading rumors about Frankie trying something on Cameron and that's what got the normally friendly Taylor to snap. With each round of the rumors, it got more and more dramatic with each retelling. All of them painting Taylor as some sort of heroic alpha looking out for her omega partner and Cameron as some sort of victim.

As for the villain, no one knew why Frankie tried to start something. In the nurse's office, Taylor sat with Cameron with a busted lip. Nearby Frankie laid on a bed in the same office. Cameron couldn't help but think how stupid that was to put them in the same office together but. Taylor did knock Frankie out. Frankie stared openly at the two of them. Clearly glaring at Taylor but not moving from his side of the room.

"Care to share Franklin?" Taylor asked in her usual way, "What?" He asked, "Why did you hit Taylor?" Cameron snapped directly, Frankie's eyes landed on Cameron, and he sneered. "Because of you." He said flatly, "So you thought fighting me would impress Cameron?" Taylor asked confused, "Do you even know Cameron?" She asked exasperated. "I knew him before you did!" Frankie spat holding an ice pack to the back of his head. "I've never seen you in my life." Cameron rolled his eyes finding this situation to be idiotic at best.

"We used to go to the same grade school. We were friends! You moved away when your dad got remarried!" Frankie exclaimed, Cameron, eyed him trying to think if Frankie reminded him of anyone. Honestly, he didn't want to know him. The way he looked at Cameron made his skin crawl.

Then it clicked, "Frankie Holiday?" He asked, Frankie's eyes widened, and he nodded. "You remember!" He said happily, "You actually knew this guy?" Taylor asked looking at Cameron. "Yeah, he used to follow me around and say that I was his mate when we were little," Cameron explained, Taylor's eyebrows rose. "Okay." She said blinking unbelievingly. Frankie smiled glad that Cameron remembered him, "I hated him." Cameron snapped looking back to Frankie whose smile fell. "What?" He asked startled. "Now I hate you even more." He added glaring. "He used to try to force me to kiss him." He informed Taylor whose eyes widened.

"Holy shit. Should I hit him again?" Taylor said startled, "it wasn't like that!" Frankie tried to justify himself, "it doesn't matter. That's gross." Taylor chimed in, "Even grosser that you tried to win him back by fighting me like he's a trophy." She added. Cameron scoffed, "You should stay away from us." He told Frankie who looked angry and hurt. "This is bullshit you wouldn't be like this with her if you didn't move." Frankie exclaimed, "she's brainwashed you or something!" He insisted.

Cameron and Taylor looked at each other as Frankie ranted and raved. "You two aren't even dating! Why do you even keep telling 'us'?!" He pointed at them; Cameron laughed at him. "Now we are." He announced before grabbing Taylor's face and kissing her in front of him. Taylor easily went with it and kissed back. Frankie gaped at them and was furious. His face turned red, and he tried to shout things at them but was too angry to talk. But the two of them didn't hear him at all.

Cameron and Taylor pulled away staring at each other, kissing had tasted like medication that was on Taylor's busted lip. But despite the pain or the nasty taste. It was nice and felt natural. Cameron smiled at Taylor who returned the grin. She pulled him into her lap and held him close just as her mom came in. "Why are the kids who just fought in the same room alone?!" Jenny exclaimed exasperated. "Fucking hell." She cursed before walking over to Taylor. Another woman walked into the nurse's office to Frankie.

"Auntie?!" Frankie exclaimed; the older woman shook her head. "You couldn't even wait until your second day to get into a fight." She said sounding annoyed. "Come on, let's go get you checked at the hospital." She said grabbing his arm before glancing over at Jenny who was staring. "We'll talk later." She said to Jenny who sneered, "yeah. We will." She said nodding before turning to Taylor. "What the hell happened?" She asked.

"Well, he was trying to win Cameron over. I told him to stop and leave us alone. He punched me and I punched him back." Taylor sounded like she didn't fully understand the sequence of events herself. "You punched him back?" Jenny asked, Taylor, nodded. "I'd hardly call knocking another kid out for nearly three minutes just a punch Taylor!" She exclaimed, Taylor, shrugged. "How mad did this kid make you?" Jenny asked, Taylor looked away and Cameron looked at her confused. "Taylor wasn't mad." He spoke up earning a laugh from Jenny.

"Cameron sweetie. Something you need to learn about Taylor is she doesn't warn people when she's mad. She's like a chow, she'll just bite if pushed hard enough." Jenny explained, "Okay." Cameron mumbled unsure how he felt about the comparison. He looked at Taylor curiously, "Were you mad?" He asked, Taylor, frowned, "He kept looking at you. It pissed me off." She grumbled, Jenny sighed and shook her head. "Honestly. I hope it was worth it Taylor. You've been suspended for two weeks." Jenny said folding her arms. Taylor grinned at her mother and then said, "Well I got a kiss from Camie so yeah." She said shamelessly. Jenny paused and then laughed. "Cameron! You shouldn't encourage her!" She tried to scold, but the scolding fell flat.

"To be fair he did it to piss of Frankie." Taylor said with a shrug, "That wasn't the only reason!" Cameron spoke up feeling flustered. "Oh, and I guess he and I are dating now," Taylor told her mother whose eyes widened. "Oh, congratulations!" She said happily, "You'll have to wait two months for your first date!" She added clapping.

"What? Why?" Taylor asked confused, "You're grounded." Jenny's smile was instantly gone, Taylor sighed. "That's fair." She said shrugging. "Honestly, I'm probably being too light. You did knock him out." Jenny remarked before looking at Cameron who seemed upset. "You can still visit Cameron," Jenny spoke up, Cameron seemed to relax hearing this. Cameron ended up going back to class shortly after that, as Jenny left the school with Taylor. He ended up taking Taylor's large winter jacket with him for the rest of the day. Finding that he felt a little lost without Taylor by his side.
