It’s Saturday, and Wright was outside of Clair’s house to pass her the homework from yesterday and a school trip form but before she could ring the bell, the front door swung open.
“Oh my… Isn’t it Ellie, what are doing here so early in the weekend?”
Clair’s mother, Leila Clair, a magazine editor, makes her way to the gate and unlocks it.
“I’m here to pass these along… How is she?”
Wright hands over the gift bag with the stuff from yesterday and as she takes it from her, “There’s still some time, do you want to come in?”
Wright shakes her head but Leila placing her hand on her back and guided her in, they sat themselves in the living room.
“How was school, Ellie? Is she still avoiding you?”
She places some juice on the table for Wright.
“She is, but that can’t be help, since it is my fault?”
“Lydia had never blame you for that day and you should forgive yourself.”
“But she is–”
“No. She just avoiding you because of her own misunderstandings, forgive her.”
Wright looks at Leila and then towards Clair’s room, “Is she awake…?”
“Lydia should be still sleeping–” as a ruckus was heard, coming from Clair’s room.
Her mother chuckled, “It seems that she’s awake. Oh… I need to get going, I leave her in your hands, Ellie.” She made her way to the door but before she left, “I hope you two can go school together again. See you…” She waves her good bye and left for work.
Wright went upstairs and knocked on Clair’s locked door, “…Lydia, can I come in…?”
But Clair didn’t respond, she was sitting on her bed with her blanket over her. Hugging her pillow while she stared at the locked door.
“…Sorry, for that day. I’m really sorry, I was so scared, I couldn’t move and did nothing but watch… I always wanted to say it but you kept avoiding me, so I thought…”
She places her hand on the door, “But then… On that day you fainted… You remember them, don’t you…?”
Her room began warp into bare domain, with only them inside. Clair had change into her maiden dress and so did Wright, her blue eyes were dyed in white red and her dress was in a bittersweet red.
“Lydia…! Are going to take the burden by yourself again…?! Just like on that day…”
Wright throws her spear, in the shaped of a fork, down to the side in this small domain. Where the heart was a tiny spark overhead.
“It had always been me who stood up for you and protected you but then you–!”
Clair shook her head, “Maiden…? Why?”
“For you! To wish to be together with you again, to rewrite my mistake and save you!” She walks to Clair and fell to her knees as she hugged her, Clair dropped her sword and fell along with her.
“I’m sorry…! I’m sorry… Forgive me, Lydia…” Her tears began to flow as Clair hugged her back.
“I never once thought to blame you; it was my own doing. I’m sorry… I never thought doing such a thing could hurt you. I only wanted to protect you, like you always have done for me. I’m sorry… really sorry… Ellie, I’m sorry…” They both cried in each other’s embrace.
After weeping their worries, Clair sniffled once more, “You were always a cry baby.” Wright chuckled.
“But you cried today as well, so we’re the same…”
Wright turned red and blushed for a moment but then she placed her forehead on hers, “Only for today…”
“Hmm…” Clair was gleefully smiling.
They sat facing each other in the bare monochrome room, still in their maiden dress.
“So, yours is blue. How cute, a perfect colour for you.”
Clair blush for a second, “But I think yours is cuter though, a very cute red.” The two quietly laugh away as they enjoy their time together again.
“My daemon is quite selfish, so we should head back.”
“Selfish…? But how do we go back, I don’t see a gate…” Clair looks around the small domain but there was only a tiny heart hanging above.
“This domain is mine first, I made it just for you…” She smiles softly while Clair eyes widen, and as the domain began to crack and shatter. They were sent back to Clair’s room, back in their normal clothes.
“I’ll head back first then.”
But Clair tug on her clothes, “Ellie, can you stay for today…?” with puppy eyes she stares at Wright.
“Okay, fine… You haven’t eaten yet, have you?” Clair shook her head, “Let’s eat together then.”
They spent the rest of day together and as night came, Clair and Wright, sat on the bed and shared some idle chatter.
“I hope your daemon is at least not as selfish as mine. That daemon, only knows how to eat.”
Clair chuckled while Wright continues to complaint about her glutton daemon.
