It was an eventful night for a human and a demon to forever remember their first encounter. So much so that the demon had his first nightmare over the past century, but that wasn’t a problem at the moment. He felt something heavy on him, nibbling him away around his chest. At first, he swatted the thing away, but half an hour later the nibbling happened again.
Wanting to sleep in till early afternoon, he tossed and turned till he felt the nibbling make a plop sound. Aware of the sound, he sat up and saw the child fall to his side, still asleep, with a big smile on his face. No care in the world, as if nothing can possibly harm him right now.
Wide eyes, the demon placed his hand on his chest and looked around, wondering what that heavy thing was moments ago. He looked down and noticed his semi-opened shirt was rather loose, and his chest felt odd and a bit red. Finally, understanding what happened, his bottom jaw escaped, as he sat there, quietly preparing to finally kill the problematic child. Once and for all.
He thought of turning the child into a toad, using a transformation spell, or maybe a snail, so he can never bother the demon again. Turning the human’s body inside out could also do nicely. Even a nice sweet, bloody human fruit can fill the stomach of the demon.
Lifting his hand towards the child, the demon cast a spell, but nothing happened. Again he chanted the spell and again failed. Looking at his hand, he recalled being able to summon flames, that was nothing extravagance. Little demons in Devi-schools all over the demon realm are easily able to summon fire, but right now he wants nothing more than to rid of the human, yet he can’t even summon his blue flames.
Scratching his head, he patted his body, looking for any sealed marks. At last, he found absolutely nothing that can seal his magic away. He looked at the kid and patted him down. He remembers licking a bit of the human’s blood off his face.
Attempting to summon the flames, towards the child, he became unsuccessful. Hoisting the child up, by the arm, he drew a bit of its blood. Getting a small amount with his finger and licking the blood clean off. Taking a deep breath, he placed his hand out, and in a matter of seconds, a juice box appears, then his blue flames, a dagger, and so on.
‘The seal must have cursed me from using magic, while I was trapped there. Only by drinking human blood, can I be able to use it, rather seems like there’s a limit.
That damn curse might wear off soon. Then I’ll be rid of you, and I’ll be able to finally finish what I was set out to do so long ago. If it doesn’t, then I’ll just have to drink the rest of you.’
Satisfied with his solution, he laid back down, only to hear the cries of more disruptions. Poking his head outside the cave, he was met with more humans and dogs, searching the area nearby. He turned his head back, hissing at the child. Cursing him as to how, even while asleep, he always brings trouble to the demon. One way or another.
