"No. The writing is not mine." Chang Min quickly answered, trying to ignore how he was slowly dying on the inside.
Ye Xun looked at Chang Min's now shaven, clean face, making Chang Min look a few years younger. He hummed before pulling out his phone. Ye Xun already memorized the pen name he saw in the chapter Chang Min wrote.
He searched the name and found a page that had many BL stories written under the pen name. Ye Xun randomly clicked a story, skimming through it.
"What are you doing?" Chang Min nervously asked as he noticed Ye Xun intensely looking at his phone. He wanted to grab Ye Xun's cellphone out of his hand but decided not to.
He was scared to see what was on the other side. What if Ye Xun found my page and is looking through it? He has an excellent memory, and if he saw my pen name, he most likely has it memorized already.
Chang Min turned pale at his thoughts. He reached his hand over, covering Ye Xun's screen without having to look at it or grab it.
His damp hair swayed from his movement, a few strands landing on Ye Xun's arm and Chang Min's hand.
Ye Xun looked at the hand covering his screen, then the damp hair strands, and finally, Chang Min, who still stood there in only a towel.
He thought about how Chang Min would end up sick standing in his chill room without wearing any clothes.
"Go put on some clothes and get another towel for me." Ye Xun finally spoke.
"Ye Xun," Chang Min whined a bit since Ye Xun seemed to be ignoring his question. But then again, Chang Min ignored his question when he first entered the room.
"You are going to end up sick standing here without any clothes. And you need to dry your hair better. Go do what I said, Chang Min." Ye Xun tried again.
Since they met, Ye Xun cannot help but take care of his best friend. He was almost like another parent for Chang Min.
Chang Min sighed, walking to his dresser as he pulled out some clothes to put on. Ye Xun stood up, moving towards Chang Min's bed as he sat on it.
He looked back at the BL stories Chang Min wrote, reading through the one he clicked. He smiled at the writing, not letting the BL scenes bother him. Ye Xun cared more for the words Chang Min wrote rather than the actual couple presented.
Chang Min quickly got dressed, throwing the towel that was initially around his waist to the ground. Then, he walked out of the room to get another towel and came back.
Ye Xun watched Chang Min coming back in, turning off his phone as he set it on the bed. Then, he opened his legs, "Come here."
Chang Min walked over, trying to act like this was not a scene from one of his BL stories. But maybe he wrote too much because his mind took a left turn.
Once he was in front of Ye Xun, Ye Xun pointed his finger down in between his legs, "Sit."
Yep, Chang Min wrote too many BL stories because he had seen (well written) this scene more than once. Chang Min sat down on his knees, facing Ye Xun while his head was at the same level as Ye Xun's crotch.
Ye Xun raised his eyebrow, looking like he might end up getting frustrated with Chang Min. "I meant the other way so that I can dry your hair."
"Oh." Chang Min blushed before turning around, trying to hide his embarrassment.
He swears he is a straight man; it is just his head is so far down the rabbit hole that he was not thinking straight.
Chang Min handed Ye Xun the towel. Ye Xun grabbed it as he started to dry Chang Min's hair. When Ye Xun started to dry his hair, Chang Min thought back to when he first met Ye Xun.
A boy, walking alone, had dirt and bruises surrounding him, while his thin clothes stuck to his body due to the rain.
The boy sighed, kicking out his feet as he walked home. His aunt and uncle forgot about him once again. But he was not surprised anymore after having them take care of him for three months now.
He understood what type of people they are. Where else would his bruises come from, if not from them?
The boy continued to walk, counting his steps to push away his negative thoughts when he heard someone yelling behind him.
"Hey!"
Turning around, the boy saw another boy that looked around his age but utterly different from him. The boy stood with an umbrella in his hand, but that is not what was different about him.
It was that the boy was cleaner than him. From his lovely, flawless hairstyle to his clean clothes with zero stains, he looked like someone that the boy would only stain with his presence.
The boy did not say anything as he watched the clean one walk over to him, standing in front of him. "Hi, I'm Ye Xun. Want to share with me?"
Ye Xun talked more advanced than his age, making the dirty boy feel more unworthy to be near him, especially when it was hard for him to speak.
"I-I'm f-f-fine." The boy stuttered. He internally grew frustrated with himself for stuttering. He was never like this, but once his aunt and uncle started taking care of him, he changed.
Ye Xun opened his jacket with his free hand, looking as if he was getting ready to take it off. "Are you cold?"
The boy quickly shook his head, scared that he would only ruin Ye Xun's jacket if he put it on. Ye Xun hummed before moving closer, sharing his umbrella with the boy.
The boy felt the drops leaving him as he shivered a bit. The feeling of the cold finally registering with him since the rain was no longer on him.
He wanted to tell Ye Xun to back away. The boy did not want to dirty nor stain Ye Xun. But Ye Xun quickly grabbed his hand, not caring for the boy's dirtiness.
The boy could only stare at Ye Xun's clean, beautiful hands. He could help but compare them to his bruised, dirty, ugly ones.
"What's your name?" Ye Xun asked, smiling at him with kindness.
It has been a while since someone looked at him with kind eyes. "Ch-Chang M-M-Min."
Chang Min felt someone pulling his head back, causing him to come back to reality. Ye Xun looked down at him, their faces barely an inch apart. "What are you thinking about so intensely?" Ye Xun asked.
"Nothing." Chang Min replied.
Ye Xun hummed, not letting go of Chang Min's face as he thought of something. "So, I skimmed through one of your stories."
Chang Min felt his stomach growing heavy as he quickly replied with a lie, "I didn't write those stories."
Ye Xun ignored Chang Min's reply as he continued, "And it is good, but I feel that it is missing something."
"Missing what?" Chang Min asked, changing his tone. He wanted his readers to fall in love with his stories, so if Ye Xun says he is missing something, he wants to listen to what the man has to say.
"If someone looks into the words, they are missing a soul. Like it shows how you have not experienced the stuff you wrote." Ye Xun explained.
"You don't always have to experience the things you write." Chang Min mentioned.
"I know, but having some experience would make the reader feel the emotions on a deeper level."
Chang Min reached to touch his chin, but forgot that Ye Xun was holding onto his chin as he held his head back. He put his hand back down, "Then what should I do?"
"Try out the scenes in your stories with someone."
"But I don't like people enough to try my scenes out with."
"Try them with me."
Chang Min looked at Ye Xun like he lost his mind, "But, we are both straight."
Ye Xun raised his eyebrow, "Were you thinking of trying with a female? It is better to try with another male since you write BL."
"But we are both straight." Chang Min repeated like a broken record, forgetting to deny that he is a BL writer.
"Chang Min, I heard you the first time. Don't you want the experience? Don't you want the readers to feel your stories on a deeper level?" Ye Xun tried to convince Chang Min.
Chang Min bit his lip, thinking that Ye Xun raised some excellent questions. He did want his readers to feel his stories on a deeper level, but the thing is, they are straight.
Maybe it is okay to try since they are straight. Then, Chang Min and Ye Xun wouldn't have to worry about catching feelings for each other.
"Okay, we can try them out." Chang Min finally agreed.
"Good," Ye Xun finally let Chang Min go as he stood up, "we will do Blossom Eve tomorrow." Then, Ye Xun started to walk out of the room.
"Which scene?" Chang Min called out. Blossom Eve was one of the beginning BL stories he wrote, and he filled it with fluff and cringe-like date scenes.
"I will surprise you." Ye Xun replied over his shoulder as he picked up the trash bags, leaving Chang Min's place.
Chang Min looked at his bedroom door, already growing nervous even though they haven't started yet.
I hope doing this won't make our friendship awkward.
Disclaimer: Chang Min has loving parents. When he turned five, his parents had to work overseas for six years. Chang Min did not want to leave, so the mother asked her brother and his wife to take care of Chang Min at her home while they are gone. The uncle and aunt agreed because they wanted to use her riches. The mother never knew that her brother was jealous of her, so once the parents were gone, the aunt and uncle started abusing Chang Min; they turned a happy child into an isolated one. They engraved fear into Chang Min, making sure he would never tell his parents. And when the parents were able to visit, the aunt and uncle would hide the abuse. The parents could not understand how their son became depressed and recluse. He didn't want to tell his parents anything. It took five years before the parents found out. Finally, they quit their job, getting a new one, to always stay with Chang Min. And the aunt and uncle went to jail. But the parents could never bring back the happy child that Chang Min once was.
