Chang Min and Ye Xun made it to the entrance. Chang Min continued to look at Ye Xun's back. He felt like they were back in school.
Chang Min used to follow Ye Xun around like a lost puppy, always hiding behind him because he was scared to look at others.
Even though he had his loving parents back, his aunt and uncle still have a psychological hold on him. And it made it difficult to talk or be around others without stuttering or feeling like they only wanted to hurt him.
His parents gave him the choice of being homeschooled, but he wanted to stay with Ye Xun, so he decided to stay in school through elementary to high school.
It was a tricky thing, but always having Ye Xun by his side made everything better.
Ye Xun paid the entry fee, and VIP passes so that they did not have to wait in line. He knew that Chang Min would have a panic attack from the number of people here.
Ye Xun wants Chang Min to experience the world more, even though Chang Min wants to stay locked away. He doesn't want the man to waste away at home without seeing what the world could offer.
As they walked in, Ye Xun took them to an area with fewer people so that he could put the VIP badge over Chang Min's head.
When they stopped, and Ye Xun let go of Chang Min's hand, Chang Min almost freaked out, thinking that Ye Xun would leave him.
He quickly looked up, only to see Ye Xun facing him, holding a lanyard up with a badge attached to it. "I need to put this over your head."
Chang Min had an "oh" expression on his face as he lowered his head, letting Ye Xun put the badge over it. Once he had it on, Chang Min picked it up, holding it.
"What is this for?" He asked.
"With these badges, we don't have to wait in line. You didn't write this in the story, but I wanted to get these more for you." Ye Xun replied.
Chang Min looked at him, tilting his head, "I forgot we were here because of Blossom Eve."
"I had a feeling," Ye Xun reached out his hand, waiting for Chang Min to take it, "now, come on, we have some rides waiting for us."
"Okay." Chang Min grabbed Ye Xun's hand, only focusing on the man as they walked to the first ride.
The first ride was a simple rollercoaster that was short but fast. With their badges, they were able to skip in front of the ones waiting.
Chang Min and Ye Xun sat in the middle empty seats as Ye Xun put the handles down to keep them in place. Chang Min watched him for a second before doing the same.
It has been a long time since Chang Min has gone to the carnival. The last time was when he was four, and his parents took him. Even then, he could not ride many rides due to his height and age.
During that time, he did not have any fears, and everything seemed incredible to him. But, now, he grew nervous as his eyes flickered everywhere.
"If you are scared, you can hold my hand the rest of the way." Ye Xun whispered in his ear.
Even though Ye Xun is genuine, Chang Min remembers writing those exact lines for the ML, who told the MC that in Blossom Eve.
He was going to comment, but once he heard the worker saying they'll start soon while another walked around, making sure the handles are tightly on, Chang Min remained quiet.
His heart began to beat out of his chest as he grabbed Ye Xun's hand, already closing his eyes before the ride started.
The ride is not even a big one, but Chang Min was already worried and scared of anything happening.
Ye Xun squeezed Chang Min's hand, indicating that he is here.
The ride started.
Everything moved fast as Chang Min kept his eyes tightly shut. He moved back into the seat as his body moved left and right from the turns.
Ye Xun's face had no expression on it as he glanced over at Chang Min, watching him. Their hands never separated as they reached the end.
When the ride was over, and they got off, Chang Min felt a bit dizzy. "Are you okay?" Ye Xun asked, rubbing Chang Min's back.
Chang Min nodded, "I guess I am not used to moving too fast."
"We don't have to do the rides; we can skip to the games."
Chang Min liked that idea way better, as he told Ye Xun that is fine.
They walked over to the games, stopping at the hoops as Chang Min looked at the prizes. He saw an adorable bunny in a suit and wanted it. The bunny seemed like a top prize; Chang Min wondered if Ye Xun could get it.
Noticing Chang Min's gaze, he asked, "Do you want the bunny?"
Chang Min blushed, looking at the ground as he played with his fingers. He felt silly for being a grown man that wanted a stuffed bunny.
Ye Xun moved closer to him, grabbing his chin as he picked it up so that Chang Min could look at him. "Anything you want, I will get it for you."
Chang Min bit his lip, growing more embarrassed by how Ye Xun could repeat those cheesy lines from his story.
"Can you get the bunny?" Chang Min asked.
"Have faith in me, Chang Min." Ye Xun replied.
There was a squealing sound behind them as they both heard the whispers of the ones who made the noise.
" Oh, are those two together? I wish I could take a picture."
"I know, right; this is my first time seeing a gay couple up close. I feel so happy!"
Chang Min moved his head from Ye Xun's hold, feeling his face never returning to its original color. It seemed to be permanently red at this point.
"Then, go get the bunny." He told Ye Xun, looking at the man's shoes rather than his face.
Ye Xun hummed, walking in front of the hoop game. He paid six dollars for five balls. Ye Xun threw each ball, all of them making it into the basket without a problem.
The worker in charge of the station asked Ye Xun what prize he wanted. Ye Xun pointed towards the bunny and received the award.
Chang Min stayed in his spot, looking at the ground as he waited for Ye Xun. When he saw Ye Xun's shoes, he looked up and saw Ye Xun holding a bunny.
Chang Min would not admit it, but he grew excited at the sight of the stuffed animal. He grabbed the bunny from Ye Xun, hugging it tightly.
Ye Xun smiled, thinking that Chang Min looked cute as the man put his head on the bunny, covering it.
"Thank you." Chang Min's voice sounded muffled due to the bunny covering it.
"You're welcome. Now, let's go get more prizes so that you can experience a carnival date." Ye Xun spoke, grabbing Chang Min's arm as he dragged him to another game.
"Ye Xun." Chang Min whined. He wished Ye Xun would stop saying things like that with ease.
The rest of the day, they spent it going to different game booths as Ye Xun won Chang Min prizes. They took a break in between as Chang Min decided to pay for food since Ye Xun paid for everything.
When he got to the front, ordering food for them both, Chang Min felt embarrassed for the way he stuttered that Ye Xun took over for him without a problem.
Once they got the food, they ate while Ye Xun wanted them to share, like Chang Min wrote between the ML and MC in Blossom Eve.
When the sun began to set, Ye Xun took Chang Min to the Ferris wheel. They were currently sitting at the top as Chang Min looked at the purplish-pink sky.
His eyes could not leave the sky as it looked beautiful.
"Do you like it?" Ye Xun asked.
Chang Min nodded, trying to hold the four stuffed animals in his arms, "I do. The sky looks beautiful."
After everything, they walked back to the car as Ye Xun drove Chang Min home.
Chang Min’s eyes began to feel heavy as he tried to stay awake. Today was something old but highly new to him. Plus, he is mentally tired from keeping himself from not freaking out after being surrounded by many people.
Ye Xun unlocked the door when they reached his house, as Chang Min left most of his prizes on the couch while he held the bunny in his arms.
"Did you enjoy the carnival?" Ye Xun asked.
Chang Min yawned into the back of the bunny's head as he nodded his head, "It was fine. I don't think I would have survived the experience without you."
"That is good." Ye Xun walked over, loosening Chang Min's hair.
Chang Min's hair fell as a few strands landed on the stuffed animal. Ye Xun ran his hand through Chang Min's hair, making him sleepier.
"Go take a bath, then rest. I will be back here tomorrow, and we can try the café scene." Ye Xun let his hand fall.
"Mmh." Chang Min said okay, but he felt too tired to form any words.
"I will see you tomorrow." Ye Xun waved goodbye as he walked out of the house.
Chang Min waved him goodbye back before going to his room in a sleepy daze.
