The next day came when it fully hit Chang Min that he went to the carnival. He laid on his couch, waiting for Ye Xun to arrive, as he held his bunny in his arms and his phone in one hand.
He silently freaked out, wondering how he made it through yesterday without any panic attacks. But then again, he had Ye Xun grounding him.
Unlocking his phone, Chang Min sent out a text message.
Chang Min: Mom, dad, I went to the CARNIVAL!!!!
Mom: Oh my! I am so proud of you, honey. Did you have a good time?
Dad: Did Ye Xun go with you? I hope you weren't alone.
Chang Min: Ye Xun was with me. And it was okay. I couldn't do the rides that well, but the games were excellent. I got many stuffed animals.
Mom: Well, as long as everything went well for you. I want to take you to the carnival. I know I have grown older, but I always wanted to take you to a carnival again, like when you were four.
Dad: That's good. I agree with your mother; I would also love to go to the carnival with you.
Chang Min: As long as you two stay with me, I don't mind.
Mom: Yay! Your dad and I are free in two weeks.
Before Chang Min could reply, his front door opened as Ye Xun entered his home.
It was the afternoon as Ye Xun came from work and drove to Chang Min's home. As he walked into the place, he saw Chang Min lying on the couch with the bunny in his arms while texting on the phone.
He walked over, touching the bunny's head. "Are you ready to experience a café date?"
Chang Min looked up, "Can you not say it like that, please?"
"Well, it was a café date in your story, so I am going to keep saying it."
"You're embarrassing. And I am ready."
Chang Min quickly sent a text message to his parents before pocketing his phone and sitting down. He set the bunny on the couch before standing up.
Ye Xun walked towards Chang Min, grabbing his hair as he ran his hands through it. Then he pulled off the elastic band he always keeps around his wrist for Chang Min and put up the man's hair into a ponytail.
Once he finished, he stepped away.
Chang Min did not mind it. Ye Xun always fixes his hair when he is around. Back in high school, Ye Xun would unconsciously braid his hair in class.
For some reason, the girls (and a few boys) in class would always whisper and giggle about it. They even told Ye Xun how it is their favorite thing to watch.
Chang Min thought they were weird because he did not understand the fascination. But he never commented because people thought he was strange himself since he only talked to or hung around Ye Xun.
"In the story, the couple went to a simple café, but I decided that we should go to a cat café. I know you will like it." Ye Xun told him.
Chang Min started to smile like a child as he jumped with excitement, "Really! There are barely any cats around here. I would love to go see some."
Chang Min loves cats.
When he did not have Ye Xun by his side, during the days of his aunt and uncle taking care of him, Chang Min could rely on the street cats to keep him company.
They are so sweet, adorable, and soft that Chang Min fell in love with them. Who needs people (besides his parents and Ye Xun) when a person can have cats?
Ye Xun nodded.
Chang Min quickly ran out the door, "Come on, let's go."
Ye Xun chuckled while shaking his head. He liked seeing the childish part of Chang Min because he knew of the kind of things Chang Min suffered that changed him.
When they arrived at the cat café, Chang Min was ready to go inside as he saw all the cats. But the people made him hesitate.
He waited at the entrance for Ye Xun so that they could go inside together. Ye Xun grabbed Chang Min's hand once they were close as they entered.
Chang Min looked everywhere, taking in all the cats. A few of them walked towards him, purring as they rubbed against his leg.
Chang Min squealed on the inside, wanting to pick one of them up.
They walked towards a two-seated table near the back of the café. They sat down as Chang Min grabbed two of the cats that followed them to the seat.
He held onto the cats, rubbing one of them as the other stretched on his lap. Chang Min felt like he was in heaven.
A server came towards them, while Chang Min did not register anything they said as more cats started to come over. He started picking up more, drowning himself with the lovable cats.
Ye Xun ordered their drinks before grabbing the menu to see what to get when the server comes back.
"Chang Min, view your menu." Ye Xun told him.
Chang Min had five cats on him as he grabbed the menu, trying to see what he wanted from the café. It was a bit hard to read it since the cats kept putting their paws on the menu.
But, Chang Min did not have a problem with it.
"I want the mini sandwiches and a strawberry cupcake." Chang Min told Ye Xun as he closed his menu, setting it down so that he could play with the cats.
Ye Xun nodded as he already decided what he wanted. He set the menus on each other. The server returned as he told them what he wanted while giving the menu back to them when he finished.
As they waited for the food, Ye Xun picked up a black cat that started to walk around his leg. He rubbed the cat's back while watching Chang Min.
Chang Min had a bright smile on his face, trying to rub all the cats as he cuddled with them. Then, two of the cats started playing with his ponytail, hitting it while Chang Min let them.
"You guys are so cute." Chang Min muttered to the cats.
Ye Xun chuckled to himself. How cute. He thought.
