Chang Min kept laughing, enjoying the wind hitting his face as he turned his head towards Ye Xun. He saw Ye Xun recording him when an idea passed through his mind.
Back then, his mother would record him having fun while his father stood a few feet in front of a swinging Chang Min, telling him to jump.
And Chang Min would without hesitation, his father catching him while spinning him around, making him dizzy from the spin and excitement.
He wanted to feel that again.
Chang Min wondered if Ye Xun could catch him without hurting himself.
He glanced at the ground, almost making himself a bit dizzy as he finally noticed that the playground had rubber mulch surrounding it, so it should be fine.
"Ye Xun," Chang Min yelled.
Ye Xun turned off his recording, putting his phone away to give Chang Min his attention. "Yeah?"
"Catch me."
Ye Xun internally chuckled at the child-like expression on Chang Min's face. Who is he to deny what Chang Min wanted?
Moving a few feet in front of Chang Min so that he wouldn't get hit, Ye Xun opened his arms, waiting for Chang Min.
"Jump." Ye Xun told him.
Chang Min jumped, landing into Ye Xun's arms, as he loved the feeling of slightly floating in the air. Well, his land was more of a hit as they both landed on the ground.
Chang Min quickly put his hands under Ye Xun's head so that he wouldn't hit his head hard as they landed on the rubber mulch.
When they landed, Chang Min started laughing once again, a smile wide on his face, showing off his teeth, as he laid on top of Ye Xun.
Ye Xun looked up at Chang Min, taking in everything. From the way his eyes seemed to light up, to his broad smile that seemed like the sun, and finally, to his laughter that warmed every depth of Ye Xun.
Chang Min looked so beautiful that Ye Xun forgot how to breathe for a second.
Finally, calming down from laughing, Chang Min thought it had been so long since he felt this excitement.
God, he never understood how much he missed it until he finally felt it.
He looked at Ye Xun, smiling at the man, who seemed slightly dazed. "Ye Xun, thank you for taking me out."
Ye Xun's thoughts interrupted when he heard Chang Min's words. His face softened as he picked up his hand, lying it on Chang Min's cheek, "No need to thank me. Anything you want, I am willing to give."
Chang Min blushed as he ignored how his hands started to feel numb from Ye Xun's head lying on them.
He was not ready to get up yet because Ye Xun felt comfortable. Ever since he was young, Ye Xun has always been his comfort blanket.
Ye Xun looked away, noticing the mother looking their way. She smiled at Ye Xun before taking her son away from the playground. They looked like they were leaving.
Chang Min is having so much fun; he forgot how the way they were on each other would look like to others.
"Chang Min, do you want to go on the slide?" Ye Xun asked.
Chang Min quickly nodded, "Ride with me?"
"Would we both be able to fit on the slide?"
"I think so."
Ye Xun hummed, lifting his head, causing his face to be an inch from Chang Min, "Okay."
Chang Min pulled his hands away, getting up. Ye Xun followed after him as they both stood on their feet.
Grabbing Ye Xun's hand, Chang Min dragged them to the slide. They climbed up four steps, moving to the slide as Chang Min sat down at the top of it.
Ye Xun sat behind him, wrapping his arms around Chang Min's waist, pulling the man flushed against him.
Chang Min leaned back into Ye Xun's warmth as he grabbed the sides of the slide and dragged his hands down.
They started moving down the slide, as Ye Xun was a bit surprised that they both fit. Chang Min giggled as they went down.
The ride was not long nor short when they finally hit the ground. Chang Min turned around, giving Ye Xun a smile he could never refuse, "Can we go again?"
"We can go how many times you want."
They went down the slide a few more times before hitting the monkey bars, and once they finished, the sun began to go down, disappearing as the moon started to make an appearance.
Ye Xun walked them to a bench as they sat shoulder to shoulder, watching the changing sky as the sun began to disappear.
When the night sky appeared, the streetlights came on, illuminating the surrounding area. There were many stars out as Chang Min tried to count them.
Ye Xun looked at the moon shining near them, adding more light to the area. Then, he turned towards Chang Min, watching as the man tried to count the stars.
His hand went towards Chang Min's ponytail, pulling out the hair tie as Chang Min's hair fell from its confines.
Ye Xun watched as a few strands landed on Chang Min's face as the rest landed on Chang Min's back.
Not once did Chang Min look away from the sky as Ye Xun grabbed a few strands from Chang Min's face and tucked them behind Chang Min's ear.
He moved closer, putting his hand down to wrap it around Chang Min's waist. "I will never let anyone else have you."
The ML from Crystal Beauty told the MC the same thing as they watched the sunset. But Ye Xun unconsciously put all his emotions behind those words.
Chang Min looked towards him, his heart beating faster than anything before, and he almost thought he had a heart attack.
He felt his whole body turning red.
Chang Min knew those words were from his story, but why did they feel so real? Why did it feel like Ye Xun laid out everything to him?
But, he knew it could not be like this because they are both straight. Right?
"Ye Xun," Chang Min started, his throat feeling dry as he did not know what words to speak.
But, Ye Xun let him go, moving away as he stood up. Then, he put out his hand, waiting for Chang Min to grab it, "It is time to go home."
Chang Min swallowed down all his doubts and questions, shoving them far down into his mind while locking them away.
He gave a small smile, grabbing Ye Xun's hand, "Okay."
They walked back to the car as Chang Min intertwined their fingers, squeezing Ye Xun's hand as he moved closer. He stopped worrying over small details and thought back to the big picture.
They are best friends, living out BL scenes like a game with zero feelings involved.
We are best friends, and that is what we will always be, Chang Min thought, even though doubt still wanted to claw its way back up.
