Chang Min tried to focus on typing his chapter, but his laptop only showed fifteen words and a blinking line, waiting for him to type up his following words.
But his mind filled with Ye Xun, making it challenging to come up with any more words. At one point, he started accidentally writing Ye Xun's name a few times before stopping himself and deleting it.
He sighed, almost slamming his head on the laptop.
His emotions were all over the place as he started to question his life. Chang Min has been feeling some things that aren't straight since they began "acting" out his stories.
It is like he is starting to see Ye Xun in a different light that left him confused.
Chang Min made a new tab, his fingers hovering over his keyboard as he wanted to type 'what to do when you start feeling sexually attracted to your best friend' or even 'how do you know when you like someone.'
But he couldn't do it because it would make everything seem too real. He let out a long sigh, closing his laptop since he knew he would not get anything done.
Instead, Chang Min decided to take a nap then eat later on as he waited for nighttime. At least he will get to know more about Ye Xun finally.
He should focus on that rather than his feelings that were chaotic at the moment.
When night came, Chang Min made his way to Ye Xun's house. Once he arrived, he saw that Ye Xun's car was already there and the lights in the house were on.
He parked his car, walking out, closing the doors behind him. Chang Min made his way to the front door, knocking on it.
He did not have to wait long when Ye Xun came to the door, opening it. Ye Xun held Coffee in his arms. There was a 'meow' at Ye Xun's feet as Chang Min looked down and saw Cream.
"Come in." Ye Xun told him, moving from the door.
Chang Min walked in, taking off his shoes before closing the door behind him. He bent down, picking up Cream as he followed Ye Xun.
Ye Xun walked to the dining area with food already set on the table for him and Chang Min. He set Coffee down on the ground before taking his seat.
Chang Min did the same, except he put Cream in his lap. "Thanks for the food." Chang Min tried to thank Ye Xun and lighten the tension in the air.
Ye Xun looked like he wanted to be anywhere but here, making Chang Min feel guilty. He reached over, grabbing Ye Xun's hand, squeezing it, "You don't have to tell me. I am okay without knowing, Ye Xun."
Ye Xun shook his head, "It is fine. I want to. Furthermore, I wish to give all of myself to you."
Chang Min blushed at those words; they sounded so personal and almost like a confession. He hated the way his heart started to beat like crazy. There was no time to think about this when his best friend wanted to tell his story.
Taking a deep breath, Ye Xun decided to start, "You can eat while I tell you about my family." He reminded Chang Min.
Chang Min nodded but did not touch his food yet; he wanted to make sure Ye Xun was okay.
Ye Xun opened his mouth and talked about his family for the first time.
The Ye family was a wealthy one, at the top of the world, practically owning it. But when Ye Xun's grandfather was born, the Ye family lost everything, becoming bankrupt and only worth a penny.
They had nothing but a dying family and barely a will to continue; it was difficult to live when someone once mighty became nothing.
Then, as the years continued, Ye Xun's grandfather met his beautiful wife. She was a strong, working woman, striving for success and a better life for her family.
When she met Ye Xun's grandfather, she did not care for how poor he was or how dirty his clothes were; she fell for his silly personality.
They married, trying for years to have a child while also trying to support themselves on their own. Then, after ten years, Ye Xun's father, Ye Heng, was born.
His parents called him a miracle and talked about how special their boy was, which they were right because he brought the Ye family back to their glory.
At fifteen, with his father's help, Ye Heng successfully invested in the new, upcoming businesses. Then, at eighteen, he already owned four of his own.
And when Ye Heng turned twenty-one, finishing college, he traveled around the world, becoming friends with influential people while helping low-funded areas.
Everyone loved him, talking about him everywhere he went. People started giving their shares to him, saying he was lucky because whoever Ye Heng worked with always prosper in their businesses.
He always kept himself busy, wanting to better the world in any way he could. Then, at twenty-four, he met his lovely wife, Fu Hua.
From her beautiful smile to how her goals aligned with his, she became the world to him. They were so in love, always by each other's side, until Ye Xun was born.
Ye Heng focused all his time and attention on Ye Xun. His heart became full when he first laid eyes on his son, never wanting to let him go. Ye Xun's life was filled with love and happiness, as his father made sure of it.
But, Fu Hua, Ye Xun's mother, did not feel the same way. She was jealous of Ye Xun, resenting her son for taking away her husband's attention. She always showed her hate towards Ye Xun, leaving her and Ye Heng to argue almost everyday.
Fu Hua blamed Ye Xun for everything, wishing he was never born as she started leaving home a lot, sleeping around because other men gave her the attention she craved.
Ye Heng knew, but he stayed, even though it hurt him. Having Ye Xun with him kept Ye Heng happy until the day he died from a heart attack.
Ye Xun was only eight, watching his world crashing down. He wanted his father to meet his close friend of three years; he wanted to have more loving days with him, and he did not want to be left alone with his mother.
During the funeral, he could only look at his father's cold, peaceful body before glancing at his mother, who brought one of her boy toys here.
He glared at his mother, calling her a slut when they finally went home, resulting in her tearing him down before saying the man she is with is his new father.
Ye Xun could not believe his mother was marrying another man just like his father was nothing to her. His father loved her, and all she did was betray him over and over again. But this betrayal took the cake.
So, he hated her with every fiber in him, turning into someone cold that did not care to get close to others (besides Chang Min). He resented his step-father and did not care for his step-sister.
Ye Xun kept to himself at home. And outside it, he acted like they never existed, not telling anyone about them.
Once he turned eighteen, inheriting what his father wanted him to, Ye Xun left his home, never coming back. Instead, he cut them from his life, minus his step-sister that he used as a house sitter when he wanted to see Chang Min.
Ye Xun is wealthy, he didn’t need to work at all, but he decided to because he wanted to act like he wasn’t from the Ye family since his mother ruined it for him.
When Ye Xun finished his story, Chang Min took it all in before asking, "So, you are from the famous Ye family?"
Ye Xun nodded his head before picking up a fork to play with his food. He did not feel like eating at the moment.
Chang Min bit his lip, nervously looking down before asking another question, "C-can we visit your f-father's grave? I would like to meet him, i-if that is okay with you?"
Ye Xun took a sharp inhale, quickly looking up at Chang Min. Chang Min continued to stare at the table, feeling nervous and anxious about asking that question.
He could see how much Ye Xun loved his father. Shoot, Chang Min almost got to meet him when they were young. But now, he would love to meet the one that Ye Xun cared so much for.
Ye Xun's face softened before looking away to clear his eyes from watering. It has been too emotional here. "Yeah, I would love that. I can take you next week."
Chang Min looked up, broadly smiling, before saying, "Come on, let's eat our food. It is probably cold by now."
Ye Xun chuckled as the tension left him, "Don't make it sound like you cooked it when I did."
"Not listening, too busy eating." Chang Min said before taking a piece of food and stuffing it in his mouth.
Ye Xun shook his head as he fell for Chang Min all over again.
