At the 7th precinct, there are five canine units, each with four members. Janus, Betelgeuse, Albireo, Deucalion, and Hermes. Typically named after the leaders of the team, canine units are teams of enhanced detectives, that work outside the normal protocols. Those in these teams are known as police dogs. They work on various cases from each other unless there is a manhunt, a pressing case or a hostage situation. The teams do the cases they are given and have the option to take on more in their own time.
Aryton Rowe, son of Alaric Rowe, Don of Europe, is the captain of the Leódon Police Department. Residing in the first district of Leódon, province Santiago de Compostela, the 7th precinct, is notably vaster than other precincts in the area due to the funding of the Don. The province is largely composed of sky towers and stacks, being prideful of its extensive nightlife.
A girl with pink almost sliver hair, brilliant blue eyes and golden skin walked into the office with hover trays filled with cups of coffee, a doe-eyed smile, and soft features greeted everyone placing trays of four cups on the desks of each team.
“Hiya guys, I got yous your favs!” She said.
“Aw you didn't have to Ella” Sybella responded
“It's no worries, sorta ma job,” she giggled as she sat at her desk.
The sound of typing once again filled the room, Primrose and Kade worked on writing their report while Chrissy put her earphones in researching the MO of the killer, while JJ started looking through the old file cases to try and find any similarities and correlations to any other case. The time hit 9 pm, Kade had slumped in his chair, arms crossed, almost instantly falling asleep. Primrose yawned, rubbing her eyes as Aryton Rowe walked in. Primrose kicked Kade's chair waking him, JJ looked up to see him walk over to team Albireo, he whispered to them, leaving straight after and their expressions became serious, and they gathered their things and headed out. As they walked past Novella’s desk, Aleksander stopped to speak.
“Thanks for the coffee Novi, just got a case don't wait for us” he had a smoky voice and gave her a nod before putting on his coat and hat and heading out to the car park.
“You woke me for nothing?” Kade asked.
“Yeah sorry,” she said, “I thought he was coming in for us”
Kade checked his phone, the blinding screen hurt his eyes, he'd got a message from the doctor doing the autopsy. ‘We received the body and identified him, his name was Eisen White. Ten years of age. If you want we can wait for you to do the autopsy if you wish to be present’ he sighed and looked at his teammates, looking down at his phone he replied. ‘Thanks, just do the autopsy, and we will send someone now.’ putting it away he sat up in his chair, wincing as he did.
“What have you got so far JJ?” He said.
“Nothing,” they sighed, “I Haven't gotten deep enough yet and the cases I have found have nothing about the killer...”
“Chrissy?”
“From what I’ve seen, there is meaning behind the flowers, and it's basically about betrayal and death,” she shrugged, “but there are rumours of a crime group being related to deaths with the same MO as our guy, it could be this Wendigo JJ and Rosey spoke of.”
Kade nodded, “JJ, you and Chrissy can go to watch the autopsy, they've said we can have some of us watch, take down anything and let us know, me and Prim will finish here.”
“Right,” they said.
Both of them getting up and shutting down their computers and grabbing their coats. Heading out, they waved goodbye to Novella and left. Placing his elbows on the desk, rubbing his eyes, “it's been a long day,” he thought. Knocking on his desk, a tall, muscular man stood before him. His beard, short yet reaching up to his dark hair, his bushy brows hiding his ash-grey eyes.
“K, we’re getting off too, wanna come for after-work drinks with us?” Beck said.
“I'm good, feel like a night alone, but I’m sure Prim would like to go,” he smirked as he looked over to her.
She growled as she shook her head at him.
“Well?” Shifting his gaze over to Primrose.
Slyly smiling at him and uncertainty in her voice, she responded, “but-” letting out a deep breath- “fine...” Turning off her computer she gathered her coat tying it around her waist,
Whispering to him, “you're dead meat Greenwood.”
Kade laughed to himself as she gave him cold looks as she left with teams Betelgeuse and Deucalion. Letting out a long, heavy breath, he stared blankly into the screen, all he thought about was the boy's corpse laid out for people to see as if he was artwork on display. He felt cold, his fingertips rolled up into his palms. Leaning back in his chair he looked upwards when he saw Novella looking over him, only offering a smile she sat on his desk and rubbed his arm. The only look he could offer her was an empty one. His head shifted downwards, staring at his hands, Novella turned and wrote a note, leaving it on his desk before leaving. Wrapping her coat around her shoulders, putting on her scarf and gloves, she left. Leaving him alone. He turned his computer off, getting to his feet, he noticed the note she had left him.
If you need, I’m here to talk,
Try and sleep tonight.
Elle xx
A half-smile on his face, he put the note in his pocket and got his coat. Walking over to the light switch, he looked in and with a sigh switched the lights off. Shoving his hands into his pockets, heading for the car park. Reaching his car, he got in. The air felt thick with each breath taking a further toll on him, resting his head back against the headrest he sighed and closed his eyes placing his hand on the wheel his grip tightening, gritting his teeth, his eyes stared into the roof of his car as he let out a scream, ragging the steering wheel he let gravity take its toll on him, letting his head fall on the wheel. Heavy breaths followed by a silence, his eyes taking longer and longer to blink even once. He felt empty, a wave washed over him. Starting up his car, he drove off. The city looked so peaceful yet lively, the neon lights throughout the stacks illuminated the skies a purple hue.
Kade lives in the slums, as they would call it. A small, quiet home, tucked in the corner of the province Pola de Siero. Driving up to the driveway, he got out of his car almost slamming the door shut, and he locked his car. His home was a light hazelnut colour with a concrete frame, a wooden door beside a large window that went to roof to the floor, a white 3 – 18 Calle La Isla sign nailed to the wall. There were half dead flowers at the base of the wall. Inside was just as bland, just as empty as it seemed. It was a small studio-like house, the living room backed up onto the kitchen, which was one of the few overly decorated rooms.
Throwing his coat on the couch, he made his way to the cupboard taking out an instant noodles pot, filling the kettle with water. He waited for it to boil and scratched his face. Beep, beep, beep. Pouring the water into the instant cup, he made his way to his study.
The walls were covered with newspaper cut-outs, files, pictures and red threads connecting different parts and different cases. Most notable was the various people he had been watching, from what he could tell they worked together or were in some sort of gang together as they were always seen with each other.
Blacked out figures set in a hierarchy with names pinned to them with words such as boss, envoy, member. The only names to have pictures of a person with them are envoys Castor - Wolfgang Kaiser, most known for his hits on influential people, Omega - Morgan Everet, most known for their ability to gather information on anyone and anything, and Viper - Bree Johnson, she's also known for taking people out though she has a very different style to castor. They made no effort trying to hide, and most times went out of their way to make people know what they did, however, they always seemed to disappear off the grid right after a kill. These were the only names that had a person to match, the rest were all blank.
Shifting himself to the back of his desk, staring at the wall, eating his noodles. Slurrrrrp. He couldn't quite see how it all fit. Picking up a file with all the notes and reporting’s they had on Wolfgang, he noticed a common theme with his kills, they all were people involved in shady deals or people who had been seen with an Angel - a very rich almost non-human person, they are seen so far above normal people that most can't even dream of being one.
Moving back to his chair, he finished his food and started writing an account of what had happened, all the details he managed to recall. Rubbing his eyes once he had finished, he wrote about the three envoys he knew of and everything he could find on them.
He felt his head nodding off, closing his computer he looked at the clock, 6:53 am.
“Shit, again...” He felt exhausted. Banging his head on the headrest, he let out a heavy breath, sniffing his shirt. Mmmm. Getting up he went to his room, spraying himself with deodorant, choosing a clean jacket, he put it on and collected his keys, phone, badge and set off to work.
