"Now kid, what's your name?" I needed his name and I mean it's a normal question even the teacher asks that to the students, so knowing his name would make it easy for me to protect him. Gulp* He finished drinking, "Name? Mommy told me not to tell a stranger my name"
Oho? An obedient kid I see, but I didn't stop there "Your mother isn't here, and we are going to need each other to survive, at least tell me what I should call you kid?"
"Call me uhm Ar-Arthur.."He responded with eyes looking aside from the blood puddle. "Is that what your parents called you?" He nodded
I soon didn't want to waste any time and head on for the search of candies. I mean like toys store should have those little candies sold at or perhaps maybe the free candies. Ahahaha.
Minutes have passed, and those minutes suddenly became hours. I looked back at Arthur worrying that he would cry but surprisingly he was calmly sleeping with the gigantic teddy bear.
I woke him up stating that we are low on food but he seems rather surprised and for that reason, I think I know why, could it be he is hiding the legendary food?!
He got off the teddy and went to the storage room, it was small since it's not very famous nor does it get the toys much. I followed him there and why was I dumb enough to not notice this. He just hid all the food there! I slap myself and told Arthur that did he also hid some water to stay hydrated?
And guess what? He didn't.
I looked around for a weapon and found a bat, "Arthur, suit yourself a weapon"
"Weapon? Is that one of the thing in those movies that sounds bang bang?" he asked
Ah shoot, I didn't know his age. Looking at his face and height, I am 98% sure that he is 6 years old and I tried to give a kid weapon.
Arthur how old are you?" I was curious despite having calculated that he is 6. "I am 10 years old, why auntie?"
"Nothing wrong, just asking before giving you this" I responded while holding a knife in my hand. I gave it to him and warned him that those are real and we are in one of those movies apocalypse except it is real and it was based on my forgotten dream.
End POV
Zarah seems to be thinking of a plan but she couldn't figure it out. She tried to see the vision of the future but none triggered her memory of the dream. Only one did, the first appearance of the undead.
While walking around, she managed to spot something. A scent of food! "Arthur! Did you smell that?" she hurriedly went to him. "I did, it smelled like a toast." Arthur sniffs the air. "That means food to eat!" Both of them stated. "Auntie, can you spot where it is coming from?" Arthur asks as he drools at the scent of toast. "Sure, give me some time Arthur. I'll be sure to bring you with me" Zarah smiled, she then pat his head.
She went to the zombies behind, she notices an odd action from it. She couldn't believe that she forgot about the danger level. As soon she saw the big, bloody of it, Zarah recall a vision of where she met something far more dangerous than a bomb, far more dangerous than a breakable gun or a blunt blade.
It was the devil, itself nearing the mall
Zarah ran as fast as she could to get Arthur even when her legs are screaming. When she got there, her face is sweating, her legs are tired and Arthur notices the exhausted face she tries to hide. He began worrying asking what happened, why did she run, why is she exhausted but
All the questions were answered simply
We have to run and get away from here fast, I don't care about food anymore. We have to get away from that
Even if Arthur wanted to know anything and what is the reason, Zarah would sit still looking terrified and pack all the resources to survive.
"Are all the important packed? We need to go now" Zarah asked with the eyes where it could send shivers to him.
"Yes, but aren't there still monsters Auntie? Arthur couldn't help but respond with a question with a scared and worried tone.
"I do not care about those low-level zombies, not when the presence of a high one near us" She grabbed the bag and her shredded coat covering her mouth.
Arthus POV
Auntie seems weird after seeing something, but with all, I will trust her. We saw some zombies on the way to the elevator but that didn't make auntie stop. She burst through all of them with a bat. I almost screamed when I saw the elevator, it was crowded with zombies everywhere.
I thought auntie would be surprised well she did but it was more of a relief. We hid behind one of the walls.
"Auntie, how do we get past them?" I whispered, I cannot afford to make a noise or this wall would be our deathbed.
"You will go to the corner when I threw something to distract them" she replied with her eyes searching for an object.
The mall was only filled with zombies groan but it changed. It was awfully quiet, I was getting very worried about it. Auntie cough a few times with her mouth covering and all we saw on her hand was blood, it couldn't be that auntie was sick! She was fine before.
Her eyes were widened, my skin began to shiver, I could barely breathe. Looking back at auntie, she murmured a few words. I stand close to hear her saying
It's here
I knew it wasn't any good sign, I grabbed her and flee to another wall.
"Auntie, you are scaring me! Don't be like that, we're not going to die" I told her hoping that would calm her from something and it did
Zarah POV
I was being such a stupid adult, because of some dream this has to happen and because of the vision I hoped it would help, I became scared and lost my will.
Even with the self-criticism, I still could sense that it was wandering around the mall.
"Sorry Arthur for making you worried" I apologized.
And I heard someone walking behind me, it couldn't be Arthur when he's in front of me.
I glanced at my bat, it was far for me to grab as the footstep become closer...
