The Bride of War God

Chapter 1 - Awakens as a Princess

Chapter 1 - Awakens as a Princess

Aug 30, 2021

"She's awake! That potion sure seems effective!"

Jill heard the hubbub around her. When she slowly opened her eyes, she realized that she was not in her room. Her nose also smelled a strong spice scent that she had never encountered before.

Jill tried to woke up from sleep, but her whole body felt stiff. It was as if her arms and waist wouldn't obey. Is this how paralyzed felt? Panic started to overtake her, but no sound escaped her throat other than a hoarse moan.

"Lie down, Princess, your body still can not move. You must be shocked, calm down this is all normal," a middle-aged man whispered to her. Jill glanced at the man. For an old man - His style was a little strange and exposed the skin too much. He acted like a doctor or some sort of healer.

Jill struggled to remember, she was sure that she was slept as usual in her cabin last night. And now she woke up in a strange room that smelled of herbs. there was no light other than sunlight poured in from the wide cracks in the walls. Her back ached from the hard bedding. Obviously she wasn't slept on her comfortable spring bed.

Is this some kind of prank on television? the producers really go out of their way to made jokes like this. After all, she is Jill Adelaide, popular actress whose name yesterday was nominated for Oscar! Jill promised to sue the producers, including her manager, who let this happened to her.

A few minute had passed, now Jill was able to raise her right arm. It looks like her body is gradually recovered. She wanted to get out of the place immediately, because that strange man was muttered something right now. His wrinkled hands seemed to be stired something rotten and dark in his earthenware bowl.

"Where am I?" Jill startled herself after said that. She heard a foreign sentence slide out of her mouth. What she thought with what she said is different.

Did the producers put something in their drink? Maybe some kind psychiatric drug that created delusions and messed up her speech? That was what Jill thought.

"You are in your palace, my lady. you have slept for nine days and everyone is very worried." Jill was told by a young woman dressed in a simple thin dress that seemed to just be wrapped around like a scarf. Jill remembered saw such clothing in ancient Greek paintings.

Jill just realized, the young woman who seemed to play her servant was spoke in a foreign language. Somehow Jill figured it out. Looks like it's Greek. Jill concluded that this prank show was set in ancient Greece.

Although not as accurate as the general description recorded in the maestros' paintings of ancient Greece -Jill admitted that the producers of this show are serious about worked on the setting.

The woman now was able to sit up and her head is immediately busy moved to studied. She was in a large room with stone walls. There were no lights installed, but candles were scattered in several places. Jill knew the smell, it's beeswax, Jill used to burn beeswax for aromatherapy. But it looks like the candles were made manually, they have irregular shapes and sizes.

"Where's Matthew? Get him!" Jill shouted out her manager's name. yet another foreign language came out of her mouth. Jill realized it was like Greek. Jill felt a strange horror, as if she had become a different person. Because even the voice she heard was different from the voice she knew.

"Who is Matthew Princess?" the young woman tilted her head.

"Your Majesty is confused, this drink will make her better." Jill saw the Doctor approaching with a pottery bowl. The disgusting potion he had been stirring with his wrinkled bare hands earlier was apparently going to drink to Jill.

"No, I do not want! I'll sue all of you! "Jill was completely nauseous. She leaned over her stomach while clutching her stomach, her diaphragm muscles forcing her to squeeze the contents of her stomach out through her throat. But there was nothing she could vomit.

"By the great Zeus! Thank goodness Portia!" not yet finished Jill was bursting with nausea; suddenly a few more people appeared into the room. One of them hugged her head and rubbed it.

The middle-aged man with a wise gaze shed tears of emotion. He wore a robe and armor of leather, a sword attached to the iron belt. Jill just stared at him in confusion until a sudden headache hit her.

"Ouch! Ouch! It hurts! Help!" Jill screamed without restraint. She rolled on the hard bed, curled up holding her head. A boisterous hum rang around her ears. It sounded like a swarm of bees are about to attack her. However, their form does not exist. After a few seconds of struggling, she passed out.

Jill awakens a second time in a strange place. This time, however, she was calmer and felt much saner. She felt a bitter taste in her mouth. It seemed that the old healer had actually fed her that disgusting concoction when she was unconscious earlier.

Her body felt lighter, she got out of bed. She was now in a better room, the bed was quite soft, and had good ventilation. She didn't feel hot or cold. Jill saw some beeswax burning signaling that night had come.

"Daughter, are you awake? How is your headache?" The man in armor she'd last seen asked worriedly. Jill didn't answer right away. It might be better if she just followed their scenario. Jill guessed that the dashing man was playing her father. beside him was a beautiful woman who seemed to play her mother.

"I'm fine Father." Jill answered gracefully. The girl is guesed when the emcee will appear and end this prank?

Jill just realized, if this is a television prank there must be a camera. Jill was worried that her appearance and make-up are bad so it would invite protests from her fans.

"Where is the mirror?" Jill whispered to the young woman who seemed to be with her.

Several servants were seen immediately rushed away to carried out her requests. Jill then looked again at the King and Queen who looked sad. Jill is confused, isn't their child already conscious? Why do they keep acting sad?

After the servants returned with the large mirror, Jill suddenly frozed in surprise when she saw her reflection. then the Queen began to wail.

"Portia ... Oh Portia ... Look at you as beautiful as Aphrodite, your long silvery blonde hair, and your graceful footsteps ... No matter where you look, you are the most beautiful princess in Greece ... But why is your destiny so unfortunate?" the queen knelt down while crying to the floor.

Jill's soul is shaken, where's her dark brown wavy hair? Where is the face that she knew from birth? What Jill saw in the mirror was another woman, who, although maybe a little prettier than Jill, was not Jill!

"I promised to hand her over my Queen. If we violate maybe he will destroy Sparta and kill thousands of innocent souls," the man called the King of Sparta also wailed.

"What are you saying? Why are you crying like that? What's with my body? Did you do plastic surgery on me? "Jill cried too, but her cry was a cry of rage. What have they done to her? Do they want to destroy Jill Adelaide's career to change her appearance like this? Various theories raged in her brain.

"Calm yourself my daughter, today we will be with you all night. You must prepare your heart, tomorrow evening the messenger of Olympus will pick you up. Take you away as the bride of Lord Ares." The King explained again with a tone of despair .
