In the morning, I woke with a smile on my face with yesterday’s memories with Hugo fresh in my mind. I still couldn’t believe it, I had finally met someone special. He could possibly be the one, I don’t know. Only time will tell.
I hope it is long term, I don’t want to be played with. I’m sure Hugo won’t do that when he has wanted to be with me for a long time but you never know, even the sweetest people have the ability to turn on you when you least expect it and that isn’t something I want to ever have to go through.
I sighed before getting out of bed to get ready for the day ahead.
Breakfast was boring as usual with Adam chatting to me at a 100 miles an hour about anything and everything that came to his head. I kind of zoned him out and he didn’t even notice. I don’t want to listen to his annoying voice especially while he is speaking in the Irish tongue which I find extremely annoying. The Irish people just add so it is, so you are, so he/she is etc to the end of every sentence that comes out of their mouth. I don’t understand the need for it and am glad I have an English accent. Adam is the only one who speaks Irish seeing as he has lived in Ireland most of his life and picked up the accent quickly, my parents and I thankfully don’t speak in the Irish tongue.
I would have told Adam to shut it but that would have made him talk even more animatedly just to annoy me further. He is just so annoying sometimes. I guess everyone else would say the same about their younger siblings. I’m glad I don’t have a younger sister, she would be even worse than Adam. She would want to be like me, copy my appearance, clothing etc. I don’t understand why younger siblings do that. They should have their own style not copy others.
I sighed after breakfast was over. It was time to get to work.
When we got to work, we were joined by Hugo and he helped us out. He seems to be making a habit of turning up here ever since we went out but I don’t mind. It is nice to see him and I can’t wait to kiss him again when it is just the two of us.
Work seemed to drag on as usual. If I enjoyed any of it then each day would go quickly but I hate every part of my job so it will always go slowly.
When the work day was finally over, I gave a sigh of relief before getting ready to go home.
“Hey Hugo, would you like to come over for dinner, ” Mum asked Hugo who looked surprised for being asked such a question but he accepted the invitation. “Great! See you later,”
“See you,” Hugo replied. “Alyssa,”
Hugo nodded his head at me with an intense eye lock before he left.
I was the one who ended up cooking dinner because Mum complained a migraine was coming on and needed to lie down upstairs. Typical.
I decided to cook spaghetti Bolognese because it was easy and a dish everyone enjoyed which hopefully Hugo would like too.
When the meal was made, I turned off the stove just as the doorbell rang.
I answered the door to see Hugo standing there looking very handsome .
“Hi,” I greeted with a smile.
“Hi,” Hugo replied before leaning down for a quick kiss. Finally. I feel like I have been deprived from his kisses.
I made my way back to the kitchen to find Adam helping himself to the extremely hot food.
“Ow ow ow! Adam exclaimed while holding his tongue tenderly to rub it.
“Serves you right, you should have known it was too hot. Now get out of here and wait for it to cool down,” I scolded and ushered Adam out of the kitchen which he reluctantly did. I turned back to the food to see the mess Adam had left behind. I got a wet cloth and began to clear the mess.
“Need a hand?” I heard Hugo ask from behind me. Crap! I forgot all about him.
“I’m sorry, I forgot you were here,” I apologised.
“It’s ok. Why don’t you join Adam at the dining table, I’ll be fine here,”
“If you’re sure," Hugo agreed before joining my brother.
I set the table before we began to eat.
“Where’s mum and dad?” Adam questioned.
“Mum’s got a migraine and dad had to stay at work to sort something out,” I replied.
The rest of the meal went by in silence but it wasn’t awkward. We all seemed to be enjoying the food.
“The food was great! Thanks,” Hugo complimented once we’d eaten.
“Thank you,” I smiled before Adam went off to his room and I was left to clear up. Hugo ended up helping me because he insisted.
“Alyssa?” Hugo questioned nervously after I had walked him to the front door. Oh no! What has he got to be nervous about now?
“Yes,” I gulped.
“Can I ask you something?”
“Sure,” I agreed.
Hugo took my hands in his before asking
“Alyssa will you be my girlfriend?”
“Yes,” I easily decided. I have been waiting for Hugo to ask me to be his girlfriend and now that he has, I am excited to see what is to come.
Hugo leaned down and joined our lips together. It was a quick peck at first but then Hugo gave me another but this time, it was lingering. I wanted more so before Hugo could pull away, I deepened the kiss and placed my arms around Hugo’s neck.
When we pulled apart a few minutes later, we were both out of breath.
“I’ll see you later,” Hugo said.
“See you,”
Hugo kissed me once more before leaving and I felt giddy with happiness. All was well or so I thought.
