Altair Onder de

Chapter 11

Chapter 11

Aug 30, 2021

Altair walks in the capital city of Rhodes. Seeing that the surroundings outside the mansion looked very lively, many people were wandering around. Altair decided to get out of the mansion for a few days, after taking a bath Altair tried to equip the things he would bring to go that night.
Altair chose to run away from his family, because if he asked permission first, it was certain that his father would not give permission to leave the mansion. Altair had also given a piece of paper to his father if he was going away for a few days, to visit his mother's city first.
Altair hoped that if he was involved in a problem outside his father, he would understand. Although his father was unable to defend or help him later.
After making sure everyone isn't seen wandering around the mansion.
Altair went through the window in his room. Wearing a black robe, covering his face and carrying a small bag containing several gold coins and a chalice. He ran across a wide and lush field.
In order to get to the gate outside, Altair still had to sneak out of the guards and knights. Passing flower gardens and trees, and sneaking around.
"Tonight the full moon is shining very brightly," a voice said.
It was almost rare for his feet to come out at the same time as the sound.
Altair hid in the thicket, the sharp branches of the bush made Altair's robe torn in several parts. Hear the sound of footsteps that have drifted away.
Altair rechecked the situation outside. After making sure no one else was there, Altair quickly ran. After seeing the exit, there was still a high and sturdy wall blocking his footsteps.
There were several people standing guard in armor, illuminated by a lamp made of hard stone Mana. Altair tried to find an opening. On one of the walls was a dark spot, making Altair come up with an idea.
Seen there is a tall tree, after approaching the place. Altair climbed up the tree by jumping. Because the tree branches look far away. Altair tried to jump by relying on his Mana.
HAP! One jump managed to make Altair ejected far enough, and shot upwards. Unfortunately because Altair doesn't spend enough Mana making the jump distance unreachable.
"Oh no I'm going to fall!" said Altair in his heart.
Luckily one of his hands managed to hold the edge of the wall. The sound made one of the guards go to see the situation. Guards wearing armor and holding spears surveyed suspicious places from the top of the wall.
Altair tried his best not to move and made the slightest sound. Because his hanging position coincided with where the guard was standing.
"Hey you over there! Isn't there anything suspicious around you?" asked the guard.
"Nothing," he answered with a shout.
Altair's heart was pounding and worried. After seeing the guard above him, Altair looked behind him, apparently the guard did not see him because it was covered by the tree he used to jump earlier.
Altair quickly got out of there. Running past several guards who happened to have their backs to him. After descending from the walls Altair hid again in the bushes, and went through several other bushes. Until Altair saw no more of Onder de's great wall.
Altair walked towards the center of the city, the street was bustling with several people in groups. Altair saw several people looking at him.
"I have to find a place to stay," said Altair with hurried footsteps.
Altair went to a shop that was still open that night.
"Welcome," said someone from afar.
He was standing at work, cleaning dirty glasses. In his place there were several bottles of liquor that were on display.
Altair walked over to the person who greeted him earlier. The shop looks like a tavern or cafe in Altair's eyes, only the visitors there are all male.
Only two women were delivering drinks to customers using trays filled with large beers and food.
“Uncle, is there a place to stay?” asked Altair.
"You want to stay?"
"Here we have rooms for guests,"
“Are you a visitor from outside the kingdom of Rhodes?” he asked back.
Everyone who was there stared at Altair. Altar knew that if he claimed to be from outside Rhodes he would become a target for the people there. If he claims to be from a resident here, he may be asked which family he is from.
"I'm just a pedestrian going to the opposite city, I'm afraid to sleep in the forest. So can I stay here?” replied Altair in as sad a tone as possible.
"I'll be out early tomorrow and you won't see me in the room tomorrow,"
“And I will pay for it,” said Altair as he took out three gold coins.
Without thinking, the man took the gold coin in front of him and led Altair upstairs to the room. People look at Altair. It was only natural because his face was covered by a black mask and he was wearing a robe.
The room was clean and tidy. It just looks simpler.
The man left and left Altair without saying a word.
"Haaaaaaah..." came the sigh of Altair who took off his black mask.
He took off his robes and put his small bag on the table. Seeing the bag that Altair was carrying looked empty, made Altair panic. He was worried if his cup fell somewhere.
He immediately opened the contents of his bag and saw the cup he was carrying had turned into a ring. The ring has a cavity in the middle like glass. If you look closely, there is a red liquid inside.
"This must be my blood and this cup changes if it is outside the realm of Onder de magic," said Altair who was still busy looking at the details of the ring on his hand.
"How can this ring turn into a cup again?"
“Does it have to be drained of Mana too? In that case, my supply of Mana must be depleted easily.” replied Altair himself.
Altair tried to draw out his Mana and focused on the ring. Sure enough the ring turned into a cup.
After knowing how to use the ring. Finally Altair intends to go to sleep.
Before sunrise, Altair was up and ready to leave his room. He went to use the window to get out of there, as the bed was too high.
Makes Altair forced to jump.
The atmosphere in the morning was still dark, seen some people were preparing to work and sell. Altair removed the hood of his robe and used the necklace he found yesterday.
Change the color of hair and eyeballs like the inhabitants of the capital city of Rhodes. With a feeling of calm and pleasure Altair walked past several people without any worries.
“Auntie, is your bakery open yet?” asked Altair.
"Hello, not yet," replied the aunt who was still cleaning up the wooden box filled with flour.
"Since you are the first visitor and very handsome, I will let you buy my bread first," replied the aunt again with a seductive voice.
Altair just laughed at the aunt's way of trading.
The aunt brought some warm bread that had just come out of the grill, as you could see from the smoke rising above it.
“Please pack 5 for me,” asked Altair.
"Waaa... yes, big men eat big portions," replied the aunt, followed by laughter.
Altair took out his 2 gold coins.
“Thank you very much, handsome. Come here often so this old aunt can get a spiritual shower,”
"Of course aunty," replied Altair with a sweet smile on his lips.
Altair left the bakery and went to find lodging for himself for the next few days. Of course every 2 days he will change his form and move places.
It's just that, the money he holds can't necessarily meet Altair's needs while outside. Because he left his house quietly and brought only a small amount of money.
“Am I trying to gamble huh?” Altair asked himself.
