Chapter 4 Part 1
Leon spent the rest of the morning with Ethan, he didn’t want to tell him all the hoops he had gone through most of it in the last month. The first thing he had done was find Louis’ mate, an Alpha Rabbit named James, who had seemingly bad luck except when he was with Louis. He’d given him the money to buy Louis’ contract just in time. He then found that James was a rather reliable man, a good hard worker, and contacting Vanessa got him a job with her as her new secretary as she needed one. Then there was word of raids being done on fake Omega Shelters, one that with Louis’ help they were able to connect to his former boss. He had to wait, all he could do is to claim him as his Omega once they found him. The first place was where Louis was going to be sent to from there they found several auction houses. It was the second one that they had finally found him at, they had found and rescued Ethan and after some paperwork and statements from Louis, from the private detective, from three other detectives he was allowed to take Ethan home as his mate as long as Ethan himself had wanted him.
Ethan had wanted him, he had missed him, he was the one person that Ethan had asked to be found, although he had the last name wrong but that was Leon’s fault his last name was not Brett but Peterson. As soon as he could he brought Ethan home to his large apartment, he hadn’t told anyone but his friend, butler, and confidant, Mark Stevenson. He’d only told him what was going on and that was because the man was his good friend and wouldn't take shit from him. Ethan had fallen asleep on the way home, he didn’t blame him it was an almost two hour drive and he was tired as it was late at night. He carried him carefully up to the apartment and to his room, he wouldn’t even let Mark touch him or help him change him into cleaner clothes they had prepared for him. He laid Ethan onto the bed that had felt so empty the night before, but now it felt warm and for the first time in three months he felt he could sleep in it.
Ethan woke up in the morning and the morning sun poured into the room via a sliding glass doorway. He didn’t recognize this place but the scent of his mate that was so strongly around him and the arm that held him tight made him know it was alright. He snuggled back into the large warm body behind him and smiled as the soft purring snore continued as the arm instinctively clutched him tighter. He dozed back off only to wake an hour later as his mate was gently rubbing some ointment into his neck.
“Did I wake you?” He asked softly.
“Mmmn yes but I should get up.” He said slowly sitting up. “I want to take a shower… but where are we? A hotel?” He asked. The sheets were clean and warm and felt like they were high quality.
“This is my apartment, my real apartment where we’ll be living, unless you don’t like it.” He said looking at Ethan worried he wouldn’t like it. He leaned into him still sleepy and fluffed his ear feathers at him.
“How could I not like it? This room alone is better than any place I’d ever lived in, or stayed at, and best of all it has you in it.” He told him. Leon smiled and finished rubbing the ointment into the raw spots on his neck. Then he stroked his face gently with the back of his hand.
“You are very adorable my little birdy, I plan to give you anything you need. First let me see your foot so I can put this on there too.” He said. “Then we can go downstairs and have breakfast and I can show you around our apartment.”
Ethan’s stomach growled and he sat up more and turned to put his foot into his mate's lap. “I can go for breakfast.” He said happily thinking of food.
“Can you tell me more about yourself?” He asked.
They had made some small talk while he was in the hospital, he knew Ethan’s favorite food were candy canes, he liked the chocolate ones the best but he enjoyed the plain old peppermint ones. Real food he liked was beef stew with sweet carrots and peas. He didn’t like Chicken probably because his brother once told him it was cannibalism and that he was really eating his younger siblings. He knew better now but it had still scared him as a kid, Turkey was okay but that was something he rarely had. He disliked spam as it was something they had eaten a lot of being a large family but if he had to he’d eat the salty meat. He was the oldest of six and the only Omega. His mother was a recessive Omega who for most of her life she’d felt more like a Beta, his father was a dominant Beta. His Brother Mike was an Alpha, which surprised the family. Ethan hadn’t been a surprise, he was a submissive Omega much like his grandmother. He was born on Christmas so he never knew what it was like to have a birthday party like most of the other kids, they weren’t rich so his father had made it so everyone celebrated their birthday on Christmas even though they weren’t even close. It made his favorite season winter, where he got new things and he could wear warm clothes.
Leon had told him that he was the oldest of three, he had a younger sister and a younger brother, both were Alphas. He had two mothers, his Alpha Mother was a Tiger and his Omega Mother was a cat. He wasn’t particular about his food but he didn’t care for fish, there had been an incident where he’d gotten food poisoning as a kid from bad fish he’d had at an aunt’s house and he refused to ever try it again. His birthday was July fifth, that had been the day that they had told Leon they found him and it made for the best birthday present ever. His favorite season was summer, because he enjoyed swimming and warm weather.
“Mmmn let’s see, I can tell you my favorite color used to be red but now I like orange better.” He said looking at Leon’s hair. Leon grinned.
“Is that so? Mine has always been this unique shade of blue.” He said looking at the blue feathers on his face and shoulders. Ethan blushed and looked away but Leon could tell he was happy as his feathers fluffed up in appreciation, he’d never noticed how expressive Avians really were till he watched him. He moved Ethan’s foot out of his lap and then got up to use the bathroom to wash his hands of the ointment. Ethan got up and followed and looked to the large bathroom, there was a shower and a large tub for a bath that both of them could easily fit into. There was also the soft relaxing smell of lavender.
“Do I smell Lavender?” He asked.
“Yeah, my Omega mother makes those bath bombs and that happens to be my favorite scent, it’s really relaxing.”
“It’s mine too, well after yours.” He said walking over and sniffing his shoulder.
Leon smiled and dried his hands before he mussed his hair. “I guess yours is my favorite, it smells like sweet mint.” He said as he kissed his forehead. Ethan fluffed out his ear feathers as he did. “What would you like for breakfast?” He asked.
“Chocolate Chip pancakes.” He said without hesitation. “And Bacon, milk, eggs, and ummm more bacon?” He added.
Leon laughed and let Ethan have the bathroom for a moment, he called down to give Mark his breakfast order. They then took a quick shower together. Once they were done and dressed he showed him the rest of the bedroom, there was a lovely little balcony where they could eat outside at the table meant for two. There was a large closet and two beautiful dressers, one was almost empty, it currently held the few pieces of clothes that were Ethan’s. There was a single attached room that was empty, and only recently emptied, this would be the baby’s room. There was a spare bedroom and a small office across the hall as well as a half bath. He carried him down the stairs afraid he might trip like he had over every door step and into the wide open living room dining room, and then he showed him a second spare bedroom and then the room where Mark lived. There was another full bath attached to his room and a half bath down there. He then showed him into the large kitchen and introduced him to Mark.
“This is Mark, he is not only one of my good and oldest friends but he also works as my butler.” Leon told him. “And now he works for you.”
“Pleased to meet you young master Plum.” Mark said with a smile. “If you have any problem with young master Leon please let me know and I will happily take care of him, also if there’s anything you want to know about him you can ask me I know it all.” He said with a grin. “Breakfast is almost ready, do you two have any plans for today?”
“I was thinking of getting Ethan an eye doctor appointment.” Leon told him. “And then perhaps we could do some shopping.”
“I’ll make a phone call after I finish here.” He said as he flipped the pancake.
Ethan and Leon sat down to eat a few moments later Leon told Ethan that he was much richer than he had led on. He ran an electronics business that has been in his family for ages. It used to be textiles and then as times went on they changed to electronics before the boom and now he could afford to spoil his mate as well as their future children. He also told him he could also afford to take a month off just to spend it with him if he wanted. Ethan didn’t mind the idea but he didn’t want him to get into trouble or something to happen while they were doing nothing. He managed to convince Leon that within two weeks he would be able to spend time at home without him. Besides, Mark would be there if he needed anything, and he could always call him.
Mark informed them that they had an appointment at noon with an eye doctor, which meant their morning was free to do whatever they wanted. Ethan debated on just snuggling with Leon or doing some shopping with him as he barely had any clothes, just the few things that he had managed to bring with him that day. The clothes he wore now were things that had been too small for Leon to wear. They were still a bit big on Ethan but he liked them because even though he didn’t wear them they had been in his closet long enough to smell like him. That made Leon happy, he couldn’t mark Ethan permanently yet but his mate both wanted to and still smelled like him in his clothes.
The first place they went to was a men’s store that also had a maternity section, here Leon spoiled him letting him choose what he liked, and since Ethan couldn’t see the price tags he had absolutely no clue how much the total really was. The Eye doctor was the hardest part of the day, he absolutely hated having to get drops in his eyes but Leon stayed by his side the entire time. The best part was after when they got to pick out his new glasses and then they went to lunch. After that Ethan pulled him into a store to look at furniture for the baby’s room. He didn’t know what he was having, nor did he want to know he just wanted to know they were healthy. Leon wanted to make sure both of them were healthy and happy. They picked out a crib that could be changed into a bed, a glider for him to feed them in and rock him to sleep, and a changing table/dresser to put clothes into. They had also glanced at some clothes and Ethan was a bit thrown off by tail holes as he didn’t have one.
They came home and Mark made them dinner and they quietly sat on the couch listening to music while Leon read the paper and caught up on his mail. Ethan at some point fell asleep, his head rested on Leon’s shoulder. The whole day had been exhausting for him as it was the most he’d gotten to move around in months. Leon carefully picked him up and carried him to bed where he carefully changed his clothes and then curled up next to him to sleep.
