Flower Boy

Chapter 7(Part2)

Chapter 7(Part2)

Nov 05, 2021

Brett clenches his jaw, sick of listening to the small red head and blonde as they scream in their faces, it wasn't until he heard a sob over the noise did he finally look down to see the smaller brunette crying while holding the small flower.

"What the fuck is wrong with him?" Brett asks, looking between the two.

"Aiden!" The red head runs over, placing her hand on his back. "Hey, baby just breathe, just breathe."

"Hey bud it's okay, it's just a flower-" the blonde says, giving the red head a look.

"Just a flower!? It's not just a flower John! It was a living thing, it may have not been able to walk and talk like us, but it was able to spread beauty amongst the world. Flowers are able to make others smile, whether it be during a happy time or a sad time, and for this beautiful plant to just die like it did...." The small boy looks down at the flower, tears landing on the ground and in his palm.

Suddenly the small boy stands up, staring down at the plant in his hand. He looks up into Brett's eyes, holding his gaze as tears overflow and cascade down his cheeks.

"You did this- how could you!?" He turns and runs, leaving the taller boy to stand and stare in disbelief.

"Jesus, what's got his panties in a twist." Taylor asks.

"Jesus- do you never know when to shut up?! You don't know what he's been through, you don't know what he goes through every day!" The blonde snaps, poking Taylor in the chest.

"Come on John, let's go find him before curfew." The red head grabs him by the elbow, turning to grab the smaller boys bag, she leads them away to follow after the boy, but quickly turns and sends one last glare.

"Jesus, it's just a stupid flower." Taylor mumbles, turning to walk back to the school. "You coming man?"

Caleb and Taylor stop to look at the still Brett, he just stared off to where the three had ran off too. He glances back and mumbles.

"I'll catch up later." With that he stalks off, leaving the two to shrug of off and leave it there; the two knew not to mess with Brett when he was like that, knew it was best to just leave him be and ask questions later.

He walks slowly into the garden, looking around as the fresh smell of multiple different flowers drown him. He let's out a deep sigh and walks over to the bench, sitting down as he closes his eyes tightly. Just then, in that moment when Brett was staring down at the weeping boy, he didn't know why, but his heart fluttered as he watched the innocent boy cry over such a foolish thing.

'Just a flower!? It's not just a flower John! It was a living thing, it may have not been able to walk and talk like us, but it was able to spread beauty amongst the world. Flowers are able to make others smile, whether it be during a happy time or a sad time, and for this beautiful plant to just die like it did'

He runs his hands over his face, his forehead scrunched up in frustration and confusion, he let's out a deep sigh and looks out into the small pond, seeing little minos swimming around. Brett didn't know why, but the other boys tear stained face keeps flash in his mind, keeps swirling around and around. He can't explain why, but Brett felt s tug on his heart when the brunette stood and looked at him.

'You did this- How could you!?'

.......

The next day he spotted the smaller boy in the hall, his mind instantly grew with thoughts of anger towards him, and before he knew it he had the smaller boy pinned up against the lockers.

"You think I'll let you go just like that little shit?" Brett stands in front of the smaller one, his hand gripping tightly onto his small locks.

'How is his hair this soft?'

"I-I-"

"You will pay for those shoes."

Brett scowls and pulls back on his head, smirking when he hears him whimper.

"I've heard about you," Brett leans in, his mouth right by Aiden's ear. "Flower Boy."

"P-please, I c-can't pay for them. L-let me do something else...." Brett feels the smaller one struggle, hearing he's close to tears by his voice.

"Oh like what, you'll give me a flower instead?" Brett smirks.

The boy nods, "Yes! Y-yes I can give you a flower!"

Brett's smirk falls and he slams the smaller's head back against the locker.

"You think its funny?"

"N-no! I'm s-serious, I can give y-you a flower. Flowers help people smile, their beauty brightens up a-a room!" He smiles and Brett can see he's sincere.

Brett is taken back, he stares at the smaller boy as if trying to decipher him, but before he can say anything, a teacher walks up.

"Excuse me, Mr. Adams, my classroom." She places a hand on her hip.

Brett groans and releases his hold on the smaller's hair.

"Don't think you'll get off so easily next time." He turns around and follows the teacher to her classroom.

He grumbles the whole way there, aggravated he couldn't have felt the soft curls of the boy longer-

'What? Why the hell do I-'

"Well Mr. Adams, care to explain the situation?"

________

The weekend finally passed and it was Sunday night, Brett had decided he wanted to visit the garden one last time before Witney would notice he was gone. He was standing by the pond, when he though he heard a noise, glancing up at the large glass building to see nothing but darkness. He shrugs and looks back down, thinking its time to head back he turns and sees the smaller boy, his arms stretched out, roses in his hands.

"T-these are f-for you as an a-apolgy for the other d-day." Brett couldn't see his face, for he was looking at the ground blocking any sight to his face.

Only a small cricket could be heard as the two stood there in silence, neither one moving. When Brett finally spoke, his voice was laced with surprise.

"You really got me flowers."

"Y-yes, Taylor s-said they are your favorites." The smaller one stuttered.

"God damn Taylor- Look, I thought I fucking told you I didn't want any flowers." Brett hisses, his voice filled with venom.

"B-but how will I make it up to you?" He looks up and Brett sees tears start to form in his eyes.

"Forget it, okay, just fucking forget it. I have more pairs and I don't want you to buy me a pair of cheap shoes." Brett looks away slightly, feeling his face flush.

"O-oh..." Brett glances back and sees he let his arms  to his side. "I-I'm sorry for bothering you then."

The smaller one turns, Brett feels a sudden tug on his heart.

"Hey-" Brett watches as he flinches slightly before turning to face him. "You're not even going to give me them?"

The smaller tilts his head, a confused look on his face. His lips stick out in a pout slightly as his brows knit together.

"I-I thought you didn't want them."

"Just cause I said I didn't want them doesn't mean I don't want them now." He grabs the roses from out of his hands, quickly hissing and looking down at his hand. "Didn't you cut off the thorns?"

"O-oh no! I-I'm so sorry, follow me." He grabs Brett's elbow and pulls him quickly inside the giant glass building, leading him towards the small table in the center. "Let me get the bandages."

Brett watches as the small brunette runs across the room to a small cabinet, he soon returns with a small first aid kit in hand.

"T-this may sting." He wipes off the blood and cleans out the wound, he flinches slightly at the hiss Brett makes under his breathe. "S-sorry."

He puts the cut cream on the wound and every so slowly places the bandage on the wound.

"T-there, all better!" The brunettesmiles up at Brett.

"Thanks." Brett stands up and looks around. "What is this place anyway?"

"O-oh, it's the green house, we bring in the plants that can't handle the cold or hot weather in here. The humidity helps a lot with the growth of each plant, look see, these Lily of the valleys are doing wonderful." Brett watches as the boy smiles greatly, his small fingers lightly touches the bottom of the petals.

"You really do like flowers, I guess that's how you got the name Flower Boy, right?" Brett walks up next to him, staring down at the small flowers.

"Yeah, flowers are so beautiful, how could I not like them?" He smiles up at Brett suddenly, making him stand still.

Brett looks down at him, his eyes searching over the smaller boys face, the sound of his phone going off takes the two out of their trance.

"H-hello?" He quickly holds the phone out. "I-I'm okay Wendy, I'm in the green house."

Brett watches closely, wondering if this 'Wendy' is the girl from the other day.

"I know I know, you'll have my ass if I get detention." The smaller on scratches the back of his neck, a small smile on his lips.

"W-well we better head back, Wendy's going to have my ass if I'm late." He laughs and looks up at Brett. "Guess this is good bye then."

He gives him a shy smiles before turning to leave, Brett quickly reaches out and grabs his hair, pulling him back and making him hiss in pain. Brett leans down and places his lips on his, the oh so soft skin of the smaller practically makes Brett growl. Slowly, the smaller leans against Brett's chest as the kiss turns into a soft and sensual one; Brett smiles softly as he hears the smaller moan when he bit his soft bottom lip, his hand slowly come up and grip onto Brett's shirt. With his free hand, Brett snakes it around his waist and pulls the smaller closer, deepening the kiss. Brett slides his tongue out and runs it along the brunette's bottom lip.

Brett hears the vibrations from the smallers phone in his pocket, he slightly pushes against Brett's chest, ending the kiss. They stare at one another, their hot breathes mingle in between them as neither bother stepping away from the other.

"I-I really need to go now, or else I won't have an ass tomorrow." He smiles and gives Brett a small smile.

"Me too, Witney hates when I'm late." He rolls his eyes softly, hating their time has ended

"Witney?"

"Yeah, my girlfriend." Brett says in a 'duh' note.

"Your girlfriend?!" The boy pushes him away and frowns. "Witney is your girlfriend and you didn't tell me!?"

"Why would I need to tell you?" He reaches his hand out and hooks his finger through his belt loop, tugging on it and pulling him back.

"B-because you're not single and you just kissed me!" The smaller one sputters in shock, making him smile slightly.

"So what, what she doesn't know won't hurt her." He grins and leans down, lightly kissing the brunette's neck.

"N-no!" He shoves his chest and backs away. "You and I can't-"

The brunette runs away and grabs the door handle, he glances back and he frowns back at Brett's smirk. He runs his hand through his hair and chuckles, shaking his head as he starts to walk towards the door himself. He leaves the green house, a smile on his lips and roses in his hand; he walks past people as they stare at him, but he pays no mind to them as his mind was in the clouds. He soon entered the food hall and was immediately jumped on by Witney.

"Oh baby! Are those for me?" She reached out to grab the flowers, but Brett pulled his hand back.

"Nope, sorry but these are for me." He smirks.

"What?" Her face is of utter shock. "Some one gave you roses?"

"Yep." He walks over and sits down at his table.

"Who?"

"Who what?"

"Who gave you the flowers!" She shrieked, taking her place next to him at the long table, her voice draws a few eyes over.

"You really wanna know?" He gives her a look, a look mixed with annoyance and daring.

"Well yeah! No one has the rights to give you flowers but me!"

He stands up abruptly, his eyes staring directly at one person and one person only.

"Attention may I have everyone's attention!" Brett stands tall and proud from behind his table.

"These-" He holds up the small thing of roses. "Beautiful roses come from some one in this room that I want to point out, Flower Boy! Thank you so much for these!"

He smirks at the smaller boy from across the room, his mind made up that this was how Flower Boy was going to pay for his shoes. He opens his mouth and forms the words, "pay back."
