Sage’s pov

3 Weeks Later

“Please mate don’t do this to me,” Li pleaded with me as he blocked the front door.

“Li I thought you were going to drive me to work. If you’ve changed your mind, I’ll drive there myself,” I said.

“No,” Li disagreed quickly.

“Then let’s go now or I’ll be late,”

“That’s good then you’ll lose your job and won’t be going to work,” Li said with hope in his eyes.

“Li if I lose my job, I’ll never forgive you. I’ll leave you and never come back,” I warned.

“No! Don’t leave me, I’m sorry,” Li apologised.

“I won’t if you take me to work right now,”

“Ok let’s go,” Li said finally. I grabbed Li’s hand and led him to the car. He was about to get in the driver’s seat but I stopped him.

“I want to drive,” I decided.

“Ok,” Li easily agreed. He handed me the keys and I drove us to work. I kissed him on the cheek and was about to step out the car but Li stopped me by pulling me close into a hug. “Call me as soon as you finish so I can pick you up, ok?”

“Ok,” I agreed.

“See ya later beautiful,” Li said.

“See ya,” I replied before Li watched me walk into the salon and then he drove off. I thank the Lord I have now got 6 hours away from him. I know that sounds bad, I love him so much but I’ve been stuck with him all day everyday for 3 weeks. I need a break from him.

Work went by fast. I phoned Li to tell him he could give me a lift home. Li said he was on his way.

When I saw Li a while later, I ran to him and put my arms around him.

“I missed you so much,” I admitted and gave my husband a kiss.

“I missed you more,” Li told me before we got in the car and he drove us home.

“You must be hungry?” Li asked with a knowing look when we got home.

“Yeah I am,” I replied.

“I saved you some dinner,” Li said and told me to sit at the table. He served me with chicken casserole, mash and peas with a glass of orange juice. I dug in without a thought as Li sat next to me and watched me the whole time.

“So how was work?” Li asked.

“Good,” I replied.

“What exactly do yo do there?” Li asked with interest.

“I cut and style people’s hair,”

“Do you enjoy it?”

“Yeah,” I said and saw Li blush.

“Maybe you could do something to my hair some time,” Li said.

“You’d have to grow it first, I can’t do anything with your hair now, it’s too short,” I shook my head.

“I will grow it then,” Li decided. That will be good to see, I’ve always wondered what Li would look like with more hair.

“So what did you do while I was at work?” I asked curiously, he better not have been pining for me in loneliness like a lost little puppy.

“I went to hang out with Danny for a bit then I had lunch. After that, I thought of you and I missed you until dinner. Then you called me and you know the rest,” I yawned, that’s good he was doing something, it would have broke my heart it he doing nothing and I wouldn’t be able to leave him for work. I didn’t expect him to tell me he had been thinking of me though, I thought a guy would be too embarrassed to admit that but not my husband.

“You’re exhausted, let’s get you to the sofa for a lie own,” Li said then he picked me up and carried me to the sofa. He took me out of my clothes and got undressed himself and then tucked me into bed before holding me close. I put my head onto his chest and fell asleep happy. Everything was perfect but that was about to change.
