Any noise could sound loud in that small dark room.
*SQUEEK*
Robin jumped. He's always loved animals, but not rats. His mother called them vile creatures that only deserved rotted food and contaminated water. She said they deserve nothing more than to be put in a dark, damp place among the mold, never to see the light of day.
But up until recently he could not understand why he was put below them. Why his mother could tolerate them more than him. Then it clicked. Nothing good could ever come from having him as a son. Everyone would think she's a mother of a bastard child, she was better off without him, better off pretending he didn't exist-
*SQUEEK* The sound came again. Robin just thought it was his mind making things up, making him remeber his past while he was alone with his thoughts.
Another sound came, but it wasn't the squeeking of a rat. No. It was soft, it kind of vibrated through the air.
*ratatata* Almost like rain hitting a roof.
*RaTaTaTa* Kind of like pots and pans clinking together in a busy kitchen.
*RATATATA* No. It was a... Drum?
It was strange hearing a drum after so long. He used to hear it everyday while he was taking care of the Lord's animals, it was a happy sound, a sound of celebration. But there was nothing to celerate, he was stuck in a dim room that smelt of who knows what. Definetly not a place to be celebrating in.
Something brushed suddenlty against Robin's leg. His breath caught in his throat. He thought he was alone in this room. Were there rats in here? It all felt to familiar: the occasional feeling of something up againt his body, the smell, the appearance of the room. He wasn't back in that place was he? His mother surely didn't come to take him back... Right?
Robin's mind starded spinning, it was getting hard to breath, something hot ran down his face. Blood? No, just tears. He didn't want to be here. He wanted his Archer.
He saw something move in front of him. It was a... rat? No, too small to be a rat. A mouse then. It was wearing a small, red drummer outfit, and had a small drum wrapped around it. In it's hands it held 2 tiny drum sticks. It was kinda cute. Until it started queeking at him.
*SQUEEK SQEEK SQEEK SQEEK*
Robin giggled a bit. How innapropriate! he thought. laughing at a time like this. But he couldn't control himself. Then he snapped up, like he'd just woke up from a dream.
'`'`'`'`'`
How strange. He looked around for the small mouse, but it was no where to be seen. At least he knew he was still in that room.
"Oh, you're awake." Robin sanpped his head to the side. Kai was sitting on the ground with hands supporting his chin. "I think he drugged you while you were out, though I don't see why they'd have to do that if you were already unconcious." He explained.
Robin just nodded. He looked around the room. He's really been taken away, he couldn't even protect himself properly, after all of that training too. And because of this, Kai was taken too. It should've just been me.
"Nobody has come in here since that man left, but I don't think that will be the case for much longer. The walls are pretty thin." He chuckled painfully, eyes red as if he's been crying the whole time they've been here. "I heard people outside the door before. They're talking about us... I don't think we can get away."
The door handle rattled, someone was coming in. "It's time for my dinner my darlings." It was a tall man, a man neither of them would be able to get away from. He was loosening his business tie, getting ready for action.
Both boys cowered in the corner, but of course he saw them.
Robin was raised as a peasant in the magical Opal Kingdom. He has jet-black hair like most of the peasant, but his eyes are pale and he lacks the ability to talk, this has resulted in him not having any friends (with Archer as an exception). He developed the powerful gift to detect the difference from each voice he hears. This has lead him to overhear terrible and frightening plans .
Archer was raised to be a skilled knight for the Opal Kingdom. He is tall with a solid build and dark brown hair. Archer was born with the ability to read peoples minds -a very useful power for a knight-. He developed a strong relationship with Robin after he realised Robin could communicate with him telepathically..
The people of Opal were forced to flee suddenly, after a human invasion on the kingdom. The king was slaughtered and many were taken hostage to be used for their power. Those who fled are hidden amongst the humans.
Robin has promised himself that he'll protect his people, and eventually (with the help of Archer) restore the kingdom to it's former glory.
