"Cal, do you perhaps have a plan for tomorrow?" Marcus asks while walking towards the bed.
“Uhmmm, nothing much, though I have to meet with my editor. I have been absent for quite a while now,” Callum answered. Looking at his friend he asked.
“Why are you asking?”
“I just want to know your schedule. Go on, sleep now. You might have a long day tomorrow.” Marcus said. Ruffling Callum's hair before walking towards the door, turning the lights off as he leaves.
“So how is it? Are we going tomorrow?” Aren asked.
Folding his arms on his chest and leaning against the wall. Marcus smiles.
“Yes, We are.”
“Uncle, Do you think... It is about time for us to visit my beloved angel?” Luca said hands fiddling with a beautiful crystal blue pendant.
“You should get ready then, the preparations are almost done. We're going to leave the day after tomorrow.” Argo stated, reloading his Sig Sauer P320 with the new silver bullet Luca had made.
“You will come back to where you belong, my love—soon.”
“Mr. Michel, Callum's friends has arrived,” Victor said.
“Lead them here and cancel all of my appointments for the whole day. I have a feeling it will be a long talk with them.” Alec said with a smirk.
"Also bring Saru here."
After a minute, they are all sitting inside Alec's office.
“Mr. Michel I won't beat around the bush, how did these files come into your hand?” Aren asks in a serious tone.
Seeing the stolen files Alec's mood darkens.
“How did those papers fell into your hand.” Alec retorted while taking a long drag of his expensive cigarette.
“That is none of your business and we asked first!” Marcus shouted.
Feeling the rising temper of his boss Victor intervenes.
“We beg to differ but it is our business to know. There was a werewolf who managed to infiltrate our security and ransacked Mr. Michel's office yesterday before we came to your place, and the only thing we know is the dog is one of Luca Romanov's minions.” Victor said.
Aren sighed—for the discussion to continue Aren decided to not pursue the issue of the files.
“That was Rafael. And yes he is one of the Wizard's men. He's the one who gave the files to us. It was a warning for us, not yours—so you don't need to get so worked up about it, not unless you people are seeking retribution for your wounded pride.” Aren said.
Disregarding the taunts. Alec then takes a deep breath before asking.
“How did Romanov know Callum,” Alec asks.
“We don't know too. We found him when he was escaping the Romanov's property.”
“Idiot, a Seraph won't stay in a place like this willingly unless it has been captured,” Marcus replied while figuring out how to enter the high fence without getting noticed.
“You're right. Silly me. What do you think a Seraph looks like.” Aren chuckles. Gesturing to the hidden tunnel connected to the palace.
Takato decided to ignore his idiotic friend, go straight to the tunnel, and crawl. All the while going on with his story.
“They said Seraphs has six wings two crowning its head, two on its back, and two on his feet. Like seriously wings on the feet. Sometimes I do not get people's imagination. They also said that Seraph glows with so much warmth, Their voice can make you feel heaven and that they are absolutely beautiful. The most beautiful creature ever exists in the world."
"Hey, that one doesn't have wings on the feet, more like, six wings on the back. Rumors are so wrong" Aren said. Grimacing at the painful thud the figure made when its body hit the ground not too far away from them after they exited the tunnel.
It was indeed a Seraph but unlike the folktale, Where Seraphs are the epitome of cleanliness. The Seraph running towards them wears dirty-tattered clothes guards chasing behind.
There are rumors that at the highest tower of the castle of the Wizard Luca Romanov. There exists a golden cage specially made for a beautiful Seraph that has been in prison to stay forever at the side of the wicked Wizard.
“Open your eyes my beloved its time for you to wake up I brought your favorite food,” Luca said as he places the food on the table near the bed the only furniture inside the luxurious room.
Not moving from where he was lying on the bed he asked.
“When can I leave this place?” Callum asks turning his head to look into Luca's eyes hopefully.
“You said when my wings are fully healed I can go home. It has been fully healed for a week now and yet I am still here. Father must have been worried by now. I've been gone for too long,” Callum added.
Luca sat on the bed next to Callum and answers.
“Don't you want to stay here with me? You will see, learn, and experience new things. And no my angel, Your wings are not yet fully healed do not rush it." Luca said as he gently caressed the angel's soft pinkish cheeks.
Feeling downtrodden. Callum mumbles a weak protest.
"But I should be home. Besides, I don't want to trouble you even more."
"My dear, you are no trouble at all. Take your time healing your wings you are very much welcome here. Think of it as a vacation," Luca said. Kissing Callum's forehead before going out and locking the door.
“I need to go, although he was very good to me. I am not allowed to stay in the mortal's world for so long,” Callum thought, looking at the only window in his very much cozy golden room. He takes a long deep breath, Disregarding the burns on his hand he manages to break the window's golden grills slicked with Holy Oil.
"My hands hurt so much. Seriously, why do they put Holy Oil on window grills,?" Callum wonders.
Spreading his wings he tried to fly straight to the sky. Not even reaching even a quarter of the distance from the palace, his body started to feel heavy. Pain shoots from his wings to all over his body.
Feeling scared.
"Why can't I fly? Are my wings truly not healed yet?" He thought. Panic rising as his wings started to hurt even more. Like it was being torn apart. As the pain becomes intolerable his wings stop working making him fall.
Grunting from the pain of his wings and his sudden descend. His urge to finally be free of the place keeps him moving. He disregards the pain and starts running, away from the guards who started chasing after him.
Callum was getting nervous in every passing second. His heart beating fast.
The pain he was feeling, getting more severe. It reminded him of the time he first tried to escape and was caught by Argo.
Argo only stops when Luca came barrelling inside the dungeon to rescue him.
Never doubting Luca of his intentions towards him. Callum felt bad for trying to escape — again. He's grateful for all the things Luca had done and given to him but still, he cannot stay. And he doesn't want to be near that Man again. That cruel man. Argo loves hurting him, contrary to how Luca is to him.
“I'm sorry Luca but I need to go.” He said sadly as he runs as fast as he can inside the dark forest when he bumps into someone.
“Ahhh shit!!” Marcus hissed.
Callum who bumps into the two boys starts to tremble. Cowering in fear when one of them tries to touch him his hands raised defensively on reflex.
Aren saw the fear swirling in the boy's beautiful eyes. Leaning down he gently touches the boys' cheek.
“It's ok, there's no need to fear us....”
Aren was unable to finish his words when he was grabbed. A soft hand covering his mouth, silencing him.
Marcus grabbed Aren and hide from the guards passing by.
Who would want to get apprehended by the wizard's guards by being a trespasser? NO ONE!
“Lord Romanov will be infuriated. The Seraph manages to escape,” said one of the guards who's name is Evan.
After the guards passed them. Aren looks back at the boy and asks.
“Are you the seraph they were looking for?”
Callum trembles. “Please please don't send me back to them. I will do anything,” he begs.
Aren and Marcus look at each other and smile. “Don't worry we will protect you, you are our Angel now.”
“So why are you after our Callum? And where did you get this classified information about him?” Aren asked once again.
“I want Callum for myself and let's just say I have my connections,” Alec said nonchalantly.
Marcus hissed at Alec not liking what the guy had said.
“That won't do! We are not here to give our friend to you or anybody! We will fight for him tooth and nail!” Marcus exclaimed.
Alec smirks. "Didn't you guys did the same thing? Claiming him as yours as soon as you laid your eyes on Him? Pretending that you rescuing him is for the best. That you are truly concern about his wellbeing? Aren't you there back then to stole something?" Alec said followed by a condescending knowing look.
Aren and Marcus instantly pale. How did this Demon know about the reason they were there? Trying to put a brave front.
"We are just claiming back what was truly ours in the first place," Marcus said grimacing how petulant he sounded.
Alec smirks. “You are declaring war with a powerful wizard. You will need help and if you like we can give you a helping hand... But of course for just a small price.”
Aren and Marcus glance at each other. Swallowing the lump stuck in their throat.
“No thank you. We manage to escape from them on our own before. We can do it again,” Marcus declared with conviction.
“Don't underestimate us. We aren't weak. Also, you do not know us. You have no right to judge us on what we have done!” Aren, who regained his courage, stated before they left the room.
“Victor, place some men to watch them 27/7,” Alec said.
“Hai, Mr. Michel.”
“And Saru you will be with those guards,” Alec added before going back to signing his paper works.
